The unique love story
chapter 1
"Where am I?
I was sleeping in my room after taking a sleeping pill.
How did I get here? Whose room is this?"
As soon as Summan opened her eyes, a thousand questions flooded her mind. An unknown fear gripped her.
She looked around the room carefully. "Am I dreaming?" Summan thought.
"No, no, this isn't a dream… but where am I?" Summan was bewildered.
Gathering her courage, she slowly got up from the bed and tiptoed out of the room.
"It's completely silent… what's happening?"
Summan heard a noise coming from the kitchen.
"Someone is in the kitchen… who could it be…?"
Summan quietly approached the kitchen door. Seeing the boy standing inside, she was stunned.
"Oh! It's Raju… what is he doing here? Did he bring me here? How dare he?" Summan thought, standing at the doorway.
Raju was her classmate and neighbor.
Raju and Summan's families didn't get along at all. Aditya's mother and Summan's mother often argued about something or the other.
This neighbors' feud was famous throughout the neighborhood.
People often gathered to watch their fights.
Summan and Raju also didn't like each other. Whenever they met at college, they would turn their backs and walk away. Things were such that if one of them was in the college canteen, the other wouldn't enter.
Luckily, they were in different sections, otherwise attending classes would have been a problem.
"Is he taking revenge on me?" Summan thought.
Suddenly, Summan's eyes fell on a flower pot near the kitchen door. She gently picked up the flower pot. Raju sensed something behind him, and immediately turned around. Before he could even understand what was happening... Suman hit him on the head with a flower pot.
Blood started flowing from Raju's head, and he stumbled and fell.
"How dare you do something like that to me?" Suman shouted.
Suman immediately ran towards the door, opened it, and rushed out of her house.
But as soon as she stepped outside, she stopped.
She couldn't believe what she was seeing.
She started trembling.
Outside her house were the bodies of her father and mother, and the naked body of her younger sister Maya lay on the doorstep.
The entire street was in a similar state.
Suman couldn't understand anything; darkness seemed to envelop her vision, and she started weeping uncontrollably.
Just then, Raju also arrived there.
Suman tried to run away, but Raju quickly grabbed her mouth and dragged her back into his house, closing the door.
Suman saw a hockey stick lying near the sofa.
She grabbed it and hit Raju in the stomach, then quickly tried to open the door.
But Aditya quickly recovered and held her, "Have you gone crazy? Where are you going? Riots are happening outside.
People have turned into wolves... They will tear you apart the moment they see you."
Hearing this, Suman asked in a bewildered voice, "Riots!! What kind of riots?"
"One group set a train on fire... and now the other group is burning down houses... chaos is everywhere... blood is flowing like water."
"What had my mother, father, and Maya done to deserve this?" "Those who were on the train didn't cause the trouble either… Just understand this: someone does the deed, and someone else suffers the consequences… It's all a political conspiracy."
"Why did you bring me here? Are you taking revenge on me?"
"When I found out the train had been set on fire, I lost my temper too."
"Yes, yes, it's easy to lose your temper against minorities."
"Because my parents were burned to death in that train fire, anyone would have lost their temper."
"Suman, my mother and father are already dead. And Maya seems to have been raped. Now you've gotten your revenge, let me go home," Suman says, crying.
"I didn't do any of this, understand? I brought you here because I couldn't bear seeing Maya get raped. It's 2 AM and there's a curfew outside. Once things calm down, you can go wherever you want."
