Max is waiting outside for me, leaning against the wall. As soon as he sees me though he stands up and holds his arms out, I make quick work of running over to him and jumping into his arms.
'I've missed you so much princess' he mumbles while planting a kiss on the top of my head
'I've missed you too' I mumble back.
A voice is cleared behind us so I pull back and turn around to find John.
'Sorry, I just need to know if you need anything before your maths exam Hope?' John asks, I look at him completely baffled then he elaborates
'Any equipment? It appears you don't have a geometry set or a calculator, do you want me to find one for you?' I glance down and realise I haven't brought anything out with me for the exam 'shit! I left it in my room' I tell him.
'I'll go collect it for you' he says then asks Max
'Can you keep an eye on her for me?'
'Sure I can John' Max says curtly.
We watch as John walks away swiftly heading towards the girls dorm block.
Max turns me back around so I'm facing him then leans down, placing his lips gently against mine, I kiss him back until I have to pull away breathless.
Max holds me in his arms until John comes back.
'Come now Hope, I need to take you in' John informs me. I quickly peck Max on the lips whispering 'good luck' which max says back then I turn around and walk with John, back into the hall.
I watch as John books me in then he escorts me to my seat. I sit down quietly as he places my geometry set and calculator down on the desk
'Good luck Hope, remember I'm just over here if you need anything' John says quietly
'Thanks John' I say quietly, shooting him a small smile then he walks off, taking his spot against the wall.
Students start making their way in, in single file. I watch as they are booked in, one at a time then they find their allocated seats.
Once everyone is seated we're allowed to start. I actually love maths, it's one of my favourite subjects at school so I find the exam is quite a breeze, I take extra time on decimal and fraction questions but I get through the whole exam with time to spare.
I look over my answers twice then I raise my hand, John makes his way over to me quickly.
When John is at my desk he crouches down
'Is everything okay? Do you need a break?' John asks me quietly, I nod as we're under exam conditions.
John gestures for me to get up and follow him so I do. We're not allowed to go outside but I'm allowed to go to the toilet so I use the toilet, splashing my face with water then I step back out.
'You good to go back in?'
'How long is there left?' I ask, John checks his watch, '10 minutes' I nod then follow John back into the hall then straight back to my seat.
I sit down and reread my answers, when I'm definitely finished I lean back in my chair and close my eyes, waiting for the exam to end.
I'm half asleep by the time the exam finishes
'Pens down, file out quietly' is called across the hall, my eyes dart open then I get up and leave with everyone else.
When I get outside I can see everyone is still out here, in a big crowd.
'To your dorm blocks, you need to have your lunch then start packing your suitcases, say your goodbyes before dinner which will be at 5pm, to those who are being picked up by their parents you will be leaving at 5:30 the rest of you will be leaving on the couches at 6' Mr Tiz bellows across the crowd.
He then gestures with his arm for us all to get moving.
I walk to the girls dorm block then go into my room, the locking system has been overridden so we can all walk freely unless we're locked in via the code system.
I grab my suitcase and start packing my things up, I'm not going home so I just chuck everything inside my suitcase unfolded and in a mess then I go for lunch when the bell goes.
I grab a plate and pile on chicken dippers and chips then go and sit down with the girls.
Our conversation starts about our exams then it goes on to what the girls will be doing for the holidays, I know I'm not going home but at least my friends will be able to, they're going to bring back things for me next term.
When lunch is over we all hug have a group hug then individual hugs as we say our goodbyes to each other then the girls go off to their rooms emotionally. They're all coming back for their final year, it's only six weeks apart.
I walk to my room and go inside, after I do a double check to ensure I have everything I lay down on my bed and at some point I doze off to sleep.
