November 2nd, 2983.
The promised date.
Humanoid creatures floated in front of the expedition team like Gods looking down on their mortal existence. The shadows flickered, air vibrated as the tension grew thicker with each passing minute. The well-dressed scanned everyone carefully then, he landed on Nyx.
'Her power…is on par with an eminence's…'
He was certainly intrigued. He slicked his hair back, the enforcers flinching. He sighed and waved his hand at the ragged one.
"Kill them like the ones before. They need no mercy."
The man with ragged clothes and bruised skin smiled, looking at the camp. Then, he lifted his hand and…snapped his finger.
Time froze for a moment as sparks erupted in the air. They grew bigger and bigger, crashing against each other until…
"AHHHH!!!"
The enforcers cried out as multiple explosions took over the camp, destroying their tents. The white robed one raised his hand also, summoning a horde of red goblins and orcs from the abyss. The monsters rushed towards the enforcers with their wooden weapons, attacking mindlessly.
The medical tent was blow away – most of the injured dead. An explosion hit Saul – he was blow up without even being able to say his last words. As bodily fluids and flesh splattered across the grass, fire balls began raining down on them.
Kay widened his eyes as he saw one approaching him. He tried to move but his legs wouldn't respond.
'Damn it all.'
He covered himself, preparing to take the strike head on when…it didn't hit him. The fireball exploded – he heard but why didn't he get damaged? He opened and just then, a shadow passed above him. He lifted his head, seeing someone had taken the hit for him. As the man fell, Kay face turned pale as he realized who had saved him.
"Harvey…?"
Harvey didn't respond as Kay's calls were blocked by the screams of the other enforcers. Kay cried out Harvey's name and rolled off him bed, crawling towards his teammate. He reached Harvey's body and pushed him, trying to wake him up.
"Harvey! Can you hear me? Harvey!"
In Harvey's eyes, his vision was blurred and ears ruptured. He could only see the blurry image of the teary Kay, trying to wake him. He felt a sense of assurance that someone cared for him so much. As his vision started to fade, his life flashed before his eyes.
In his vision, he saw a woman holding Lilly gently. She was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen and always will be. His lips curled up as the image of his wife holding his daughter flashed before his eyes. Then, he spoke a word which would soon be his last.
"Lilly…"
Kay froze when he heard Harvey say his daughter's name. Then, Harvey's body went cold as his smile froze. Kay's pupils dilated, the screams of the enforcers dialing out of his mind as his heart ached. He reflexively gagged, tears tugging at his eyes as his scream died in his throat, replaced by a choked whisper.
"Harvey…"

Meanwhile, Lancelot was cutting down the monsters coming his way. He was not to be underestimated since he made his way to becoming a general with his own strength. He activated his attribute which caused the monsters to momentarily stop attacking him. Then, he slashed at them with immense fury.
'I need to get out here now!'
He turned and began running, ignoring others screams. Suddenly, a strong explosion hit him from behind. He fell down, covering himself. Then, as he was about to get up and run…a demon appeared in front of him. Lancelot froze – its immense aura locking him in place. Fear took over him as a human with ragged clothes crouched down, locking eyes. He stared at him for a while as if he was looking into his very soul…
Then, the demon's lips parted as he said in an amusing voice.
"Envy would have loved you…"
Lancelot didn't respond – he couldn't respond.
'Envy? What the hell is he talking about? I guess I am envious…but not to a sinful extent! Go find another one.'
He gritted his teeth, unable to move. Right the next second, the demon spoke words that would confuse and horrify him.
"If he were still alive that is…"
Lancelot was thrown into utter confusion as the demon smiled hysterically. He brought his hand close to Lancelot's head. Strangely, he saw a vision – the day he became the general where he shook Chris hand for the first time. The generals' pupils dilated as the demon snapped his fingers, blowing his head off. As the body fell, the demon stood up and wiped the blood from his face.

David frantically, ducked and evaded the explosion – a string of luck. He pushed enforcers out of his way, leading most of them to their demise. He didn't care anymore, the only thought he had now was to…
'Escape!'
As he neared the edge of the camp, he saw a ray of hope. He smiled as he too his first step outside of the camp. But just then, a naked man flashed in front of him. David's eyes widened – it was one of the demons. The hope he had before suddenly, drowned. Despair overcame him as he fell to his knees. Clasping his hands together, he begged – begged for his life.
"Please…please, let me leave! I won't tell anybody of you! I won't tell a single soul!"
The demon didn't respond. It approached him and placed his palm of his head.
"You're going to be free now…"
Tears escape David's eyes as he thought the demon had pardoned him…but it was far from the truth. In an instant, the demon ripped David's brain out. A single strike – a single flash which David felt for s singular second and then, the generals' body dropped – his eyes wide open like a zombie. The demon sniffed David's brain like a caveman.
"Haven't had brain in a while…this one looks particularly powerful…"
He opened his mouth, revealing sharp teeth and bit down on the generals' brain and blood spew from his body.

Charles hid behind the equipment, trying to save himself from the explosions and monsters. After a while, he jolted up and grabbed the super-laptop
'I must preserve this – no matter the cost.'
He rushed out of the main tent, explosion, blood and scream sounding around him. In the corner of his eye, he saw the supreme commander fighting the monsters with her shadows.
'She can protect me…'
He grinned, seeing a chance and jumped at it. He pushed through the battlefield full of dread, tears and death, trying to make it to Nyx. When he almost reached Nyx, monsters surrounded him like a swarm of bees. They licked their lips at the sight of him, their crimson eyes reflecting their hunger. Charles gritted his teeth – he knew he couldn't escape.
"NYX!" He screamed with all his might.
The supreme commander snapped around for a moment and in that instant, he threw the super-laptop at her as the red-skinned monsters approached him. A dark tendril caught the laptop. Nyx's eyes widened as she witnessed a horrible sight. Charles held his hand his hand out as he was eaten alive by the goblins, feeling every goblin bite its rotten teeth through his flesh. He screamed, shrieked and shouted but the goblins didn't stop until only bone was left. He saw his lab back home — the first time he held the super-laptop like it was his child.
Nyx gagged, her hands shook violently as she continued fighting.
'I'm sorry…'
