Chapter 17 - Chapter 17 The Frog in Danger

Xiao Mu put down his textbook. "I also bought a Pokémon Egg, but it hasn't hatched yet!"

Clearly, Xiao Mu also didn't know what kind of Pokémon was inside the Pokémon Egg he bought.

Ash didn't ask any more questions. He sat in his seat. "Mom is at home, so Pikachu should be fine."

Time passed. A day went by, and as the school bell rang, a large group of students ran towards the school gate.

At this moment, Ash was incredibly excited. He just wanted to get home quickly to see if the Pokémon Egg had hatched.

As the sun set, the clouds suddenly parted, and the afterglow of the bright sunset dyed the entire sky red.

Ash ran all the way, the evening breeze caressing his face. Under the setting sun, the boy's smile was so brilliant.

"Pikachu, Froakie, I'll be back soon!"

Thinking of these two little guys, Ash's speed increased even more, and sweat like beads dripped from his forehead onto the ground.

A moment later, Ash was panting, breathing heavily. "Mom, I'm home!"

Ash pushed open the door, his face full of smiles, displaying the sunny disposition a young boy should have.

"You're back, Ash." Delia was busy making dinner at this moment.

"Pika, Pika!" Pikachu ran towards Ash, its face showing an unconcealable excitement.

Ash opened his arms and embraced Pikachu.

"Pikachu, did you listen to Mom at home? You can't cause trouble, you know!" Ash stroked Pikachu's head, his eyes full of smiles.

Delia said with a smile, "Pikachu is such a good child. It even knows how to help clean up."

Pikachu nodded, then jumped down and walked towards the stairs, waving at Ash.

Ash was a little confused. "Pikachu, are you trying to tell me to go upstairs?"

Although Ash was extremely puzzled, he knew he'd only find out by following. After changing his shoes, Ash, curious, followed Pikachu upstairs.

"Ash, remember to wipe off your sweat and take a shower first." Delia also smiled helplessly; Ash was always so full of energy.

But this was normal. At their age, they were vibrant, sunny, and optimistic.

"I know, Mom, I will." Ash replied while following Pikachu up to the second floor.

Pikachu came to the incubator and pointed at the Pokémon Egg inside.

"What's wrong, Pikachu? Did something happen?" Ash quickly ran to the incubator and looked at the Pokémon Egg inside.

"This... what's going on? Is Froakie about to hatch?"

Clearly, this was Ash's first time encountering such a situation, and he didn't have much experience.

The Pokémon Egg inside the incubator already had some cracks.

Froakie inside the Pokémon Egg was forcefully hitting the shell, and the cracks were deepening.

"Come on, Froakie, you can do it." At this moment, Ash had no way to offer Helping Hand, so he could only pray silently.

As if sensing Ash's thoughts, Froakie inside the Pokémon Egg kept hitting the shell, making a lot of noise.

"Pika, Pika!!" Pikachu, next to the incubator, was also cheering for Froakie.

Suddenly, Froakie inside the Pokémon Egg completely stopped moving.

"This... Froakie, get up!"

But at this moment, the Pokémon Egg inside the incubator was completely still, as if it had lost its breath of life.

"Froakie, do we really have no fate together...?"

Ash looked dejected, his eyes red. For a moment, he felt so useless, unable to do anything.

"Pika..." Pikachu also lowered its head, its eyes filled with sadness.

"No, Froakie can still be saved!!" Ash got up from the floor, wiping away the tears that streamed down.

Holding the incubator, Ash rushed downstairs. "Pikachu, let's go."

Pikachu was a little confused, following Ash downstairs.

Seeing Ash in such a hurry, Delia frowned slightly. "Ash, Pikachu, where are you going?"

Ash ran towards the door, saying, "Mom, I'm going to Professor Oak's house."

Delia was slightly stunned, then suddenly thought of something. "Did something happen to that Pokémon Egg?"

When they bought this Pokémon Egg, they had already been told that it had some issues.

But Ash was incredibly determined. Looking at the dazzling array of Pokémon and Pokémon Eggs, he didn't choose any others.

Of course, this was Ash's choice, and Delia wouldn't interfere too much. Ash had grown up, and she couldn't control everything he did anymore.

"Froakie, hold on, we'll be there soon."

At this moment, Ash's eyes were red, and tears streamed uncontrollably.

He was the one who brought Froakie back, so he had to be responsible to the end. If anything happened, he would probably have a shadow over him for the rest of his life.

Ash ran into Professor Oak's laboratory. The moment he saw Professor Oak, Ash could no longer hold back.

"Professor Oak, please save this child!" Ash said with a crying voice, almost pleading.

"What's wrong, Ash?" Professor Oak quickly put down his work and walked quickly towards Ash.

"Professor Oak, this Pokémon Egg seems to be dying. It's completely still."

Hearing Ash's words, Professor Oak quickly took the incubator from Ash's hand and looked at it with a magnifying glass.

"How could this be? It seems a bit dangerous..." Professor Oak's brows were tightly furrowed, his expression a little complex.

Seeing Professor Oak's worried expression, Ash took a deep breath. He needed to calm down now.

He couldn't add to Professor Oak's troubles now. Only by calming down could he think of a solution.

"Ash, don't worry too much. There's still hope to save this Pokémon Egg."

Professor Oak also quickly comforted Ash. He knew this child deeply loved Pokémon.

Ash's eyes lit up, and he nodded heavily. "Please, Professor Oak."

Now, the only hope rested with Professor Oak.

"Come out, Blissey!!"

A Pokémon appeared before everyone's eyes. It had a large, egg-shaped body. The upper part of its body was pink, and the lower part was white.

Ash looked at this Pokémon. "Blissey?!"

"Happi, Happi~" Blissey smiled gently, giving off an approachable feeling.

"That's great! With Blissey, the chance of success will increase!"
