The air felt heavier than before — charged, thick, and oppressive. The corridor that had once echoed with laughter and footsteps now pulsed with low murmurs and nervous breathing.
Yvette's voice was the first to break the silence.
"Answer her," she demanded, stepping closer to George, her tone edged like glass. "Where did you get this picture from?"
Her eyes blazed, her fists tight at her sides. Around us, the gathered students leaned in, hungry for drama. I could feel their gazes crawl over me like insects, feeding on the chaos.
George swallowed hard, his face pale beneath the anger. "I— I already told you—"
But before he could finish, a new voice sliced through the corridor.
