"Dad, that's not what I meant," Gerardo quickly reassured her. "Let's go to the hospital first and get you some medicine. As for your mom, I'll definitely confront Nevaeh. If she dares to do anything wrong, I swear I'll make her pay."
Hearing this, Noreen felt a bit better.
As they drove to the hospital, she emphasized again, her voice sharp, "You have to get revenge for me. I'm hurt this badly because of Nevaeh and Cyrille. You have to make both of them pay, or I won't recognize you as my dad!"
Gerardo, gripping the steering wheel, felt a sharp pang in his heart at his daughter's words. "I promise I'll confront Nevaeh and get justice for you."
"What about Cyrille? You can't let him get away either."
Mentioning the Bennett family left Gerardo totally speechless. After all, he was Nevaeh's adoptive father. He could confront her, maybe even have it out with her.
