"In three months, he wants you pregnant." Cassius spoke slowly, his tone deep and deliberate.
The words left Nevaeh frozen in place. It took her a full moment to process what he had just said.
If she had known that's where the conversation was headed, she never would've asked. It was just way too awkward.
Feeling her face heat up, Nevaeh quickly turned around and hurried back inside, hoping Cassius wouldn't notice her flushed cheeks.
Watching her retreating figure, Cassius couldn't help but smirk.
He was just about to follow her for a little teasing when Hussein walked in, holding a bowl of dark, thick medicine.
"Young Master, this is the tonic the Old Master personally brewed for you."
Without needing to ask, Cassius already knew what it was. His expression darkened. "Get rid of it."
Hussein hesitated. "But the Old Master said you have to drink it. If you don't, there's still more left in the pot..."
