Jones stepped toward Maya. "Stop pretending. You know how this building works. You knew it when you were here and you know it now. I'm not going to stand here while you—"
The tall woman—Naomi—who had been standing aside the whole time finally spoke up, her voice very clear. "Agent Jones. You seem to be confused about the terms of the Savinus acquisition. Levi Quinn is signed to an independent label operating under a separate creative agreement. Meaning agent jurisdiction here is equal."
Maya said nothing. She also began scrolling on her phone.
The silence lasted long enough that Jones stood paralyzed. Kim, who had been searching for the perfect fit, finally snatched a soft, powder-blue cardigan from the rack. She took a photo and marched past Maya, stepping directly into Levi's line of sight.
"He would naturally be a good stand-in till Blake recovers. Till then it should be easy to keep the public's eyes on him." Jones chuckled.
