Kairen slid into the car briskly, slamming the door shut with a sharp thud. He really wanted that charm bracelet.
"What's the meaning of…" he paused, grimacing at the words that still stung his pride. "For couples," he mimicked the woman's voice, his tone exaggerated and mocking. Then he lashed out at himself, flaying his fingers in the air like he was dancing in hell.
That was so cringe — super cringe. He felt like tearing himself to shreds, burying his face and never coming out again. But his composure kicked back in quickly, smoothing over the awkward edges that still buzzed under his skin. He switched back to his broody self just as the doors of the spa swung open and Sebastian strode out with his usual unhurried grace — a man who owned every breath of space around him.
Kairen quickly folded his arms across his chest and relaxed back into the soft, buttery leather seat, a deep frown plastered over his face the moment Sebastian got closer to the car.
