The door clicked shut as the nurse left, her footsteps fading into the hallway. Silence settled in the hospital room, broken only by the faint hum of machines and Axamu's slow breathing.
Then—
Ding!
A familiar glow lit up the space. The system's translucent screen appeared right before his eyes.
[CONGRATULATIONS ON SYNCHRONIZATION!]
Axamu's blood boiled. He clenched his fists, glaring at the floating text. "You…! You didn't warn me it was going to hurt like hell! I thought my body was tearing apart!" His voice echoed in the sterile room, raw with anger.
The screen pulsed once, unfazed.
[REWARD: BEYBLADE X!]
Axamu froze. His anger dulled, replaced by surprise. "…A Beyblade? As a reward?"
The text shifted again, unveiling a new interface. Three spinning silhouettes appeared, each glowing in different colors.
[CHOOSE YOUR BEYBLADE!]
The first glowed bright blue. Its design was sharp, fierce, like a blade cutting through the sky.
Blue Dran Sword – A Bey said to strike with overwhelming offense, fast and relentless.
The second shimmered pure white. Its shape curved elegantly, almost wing-like, radiating a sense of speed and flow.
White Cobalt Dragoon – A Bey embodying aerial agility and unpredictable movement.
The third glowed dark purple. Its heavy frame bore jagged edges, giving it the presence of a warrior.
Purple Samurai Saber – A Bey built for balance and counter, striking back harder than it receives.
Axamu's eyes widened as he watched the options spin before him, each glowing with its own aura.
"This is..." he muttered. His chest tightened. For the first time since arriving, he felt something stir inside him—nostalgia mixed with awe.
But the weight of reality quickly crushed it. His hand, trembling, hovered toward the screen, but then stopped.
"…Wait." He clenched his jaw. "I don't know anything about this world yet. I don't even know how Beyblade X works, let alone which one of these I should pick."
He pulled his hand back, shaking his head. "No. I'll hold off for now. Choosing blindly would be stupid. I need to figure out more about this place first…"
The three Beyblades continued spinning silently on the screen, as though waiting patiently for his decision.
Axamu lay back on the bed, staring at the ceiling, his heart heavy. "I need to survive… but on my terms."
The glowing Beys remained, their faint light casting shadows across the room.
