Chapter 2 - 2. Don’t you want to have sex with me?

Sitting and going through everything but nothing was the life Lucas knew he signed up for when taking over his family's business even when he had his own. Being nothing but the son who wanted to prove everyone he was capable of doing things right after he screwed up almost everything was starting to take a great toll on him.

Shuffling and sighing documents, contracts he didn't even know where or what they were. He pushed back his chair, swerving to the sight below him. The sun was setting and though the weather was giving mixed signals with the constant and distant rumblings. The view was great from here through the floor to ceiling window. The golden hue mirrored into his office casting a great shadow.

He relaxed back into his chair, trying not to think for one minute about his life and what it had turned to in just three years. He didn't know if he should be grateful it at least brought him a bubbly crying angel.

He wheezed out a breath at the thought of more crying and wailing when he returned home. He loved his daughter, no doubt, and was so happy for her existence but at the moment he didn't know how to soothe her crying any more.

A ringing sound bellowed from the table behind him and he turned the chair and stood up to pick it up. The name on the phone had him pause for seconds just staring at it before hitting the answer button "how is she?"

A screeching crying sound from a baby could be heard in the background and how the receiver moved away to answer the call making it less audible "Sir, I don't know what to do. She's been crying since she woke up from her nap"

"Has she eaten?"

A loud exhale resounded across his phone from the other person "That's the problem. I tried feeding her but she wouldn't eat anything…only crying and asking for…her mom"

"Jesus" Lucas muttered rubbing his hand down his face, his eyes went to his table to the number of unopened files and documents needing to be attended to and the screeching sound across his phone.

His face went up to the ceiling of his office and then outside the glass to the floor below. It was evening and the sun was down already. Maybe this was a calling for him to head home "Try to ease her crying, I could hear it from here. She is going to get sick. I'm coming, on my way" with that he hung up not waiting to hear what the other person had to say.

Picking up his car keys, he left his office to the building's underground garage. The elevator took all the time in the world which was the disadvantage of these buildings as many emergencies didn't matter to elevators. They moved at their own pace and he groaned at that, almost punching the wall but he knew the repercussions instead thinking about his daughter crying her eyes out right now at home.

His heart broke and he continued mumbling for it to be fast which it did and he ran out waving at the receptionist. He didn't see his personal assistant and secretary while coming out but he was going to contact them later. Maybe they'd left. After all, it was already late.

"Sir you—"the receptionist tried calling him but he ran out the building but the breeze and drizzling had him stopping "shit" he cursed going back to the building and followed the back still avoiding the receptionist wondering why she hadn't gone herself. He arrived at his car immediately putting it on drive and veering out the lot which was the same time the rain intensified.

His wipers went at a slow pace, he punched his steering wheel cursing at the heavy rain, his house was not too far but he used another route which was farther than the actual path. What the? His eyes zeroed in on the lone figure staggering in the wind. His headlights shining down on the figure.

He rolled down his right window sighting a girl. Woman. He didn't want to know right now but went home to his crying daughter however couldn't think of leaving a stranger knowing he had the chance to help "hey you okay?!!" He shouted, the rain was increasing and getting dark. He sighed "hey?!!" He shouted again and the woman staggered. He almost opened his door to go to her but thought against it instead raising his voice once more "Are you okay? Do you need a ride? I will drive, no charge. Get in"

No need for mindless conversations and talks, he was in a dire situation now. His daughter. Taking in the woman's appearance more even in the rain he didn't want to get more angrier but the woman was pushing him to leave.

She stood contemplating and appraising his car and he almost drove off. Is she not seeing the weather and the coming storm?  He held his wheel and gear when he heard her say something he didn't hear and then ran to his car. He unlocked it before she would reach it as she opened and let herself in.

"Hi" she waved her hand, dropping her bag and other things he didn't look down to on the floor. His lips curled upwards in an awkward smile not saying anything before putting the car into motion. The drive was silent while he drove home.

Sliding into his neighborhood which wasn't a normal one, he remembered someone was in his car, he turned to her biting his lower lip, he didn't know how to start a conversation about her destination or anything so he opted for "want me to drop you off somewhere?" Maybe that was better, he mused.

He took in her appearance more clearly and she didn't look like a homeless person left for her wet hair and sticky clothes that were too revealing from the water. He took his eyes off her and looked out the window and darkness was upon them.

"Where do you want me to drop you?" As much as that will cost him time from driving home to his daughter he needed to do this first but the woman in question was not answering, only staring at the dashboard like it was some kind of artwork.

Oh God not today

"You would probably—"

"Don't you want to have sex with me?" She asked, finally speaking, which got Lucas jerking his head to her and his motor into a screeching halt. "What?" Horror written over his face.
