Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: A quill

Groggily, Lukas opened his eyes. The sight before him shocked him he was sitting on a wooden chair, and in front of him was a wooden table with a book and a quill resting beside it.

When he turned his gaze to the window, he saw a blood-red moon hanging in the night sky. Before he could even recover from the sight, glowing words appeared in the air.

"Lukas, you have been transmigrated into the world of Lord of the Mysteries."

Lukas blinked, confused and shaken. "Is this… some sort of dream?" he muttered.

The words shifted.

"If this were a dream, would you be able to feel pain?"

Before Lukas could respond, searing pain tore through his body. It felt as if a thousand sharp needles were piercing his skin all at once.

"AGHHHHH!" he screamed in agony. But just as suddenly as it came, the pain vanished. Though only seconds had passed, to him it felt like an eternity.

Panting heavily, Lukas caught his breath. "Okay… I get it. I reincarnated into Lord of the Mysteries. But I have some questions. Can you answer them?"

The words in the air shifted again.

"No problem."

"My first question is who are you?" Lukas asked.

The words rearranged themselves.

"I am the Almighty Quill."

Lukas frowned, his eyes darting toward the quill lying beside the book. He picked it up. "You mean… this?"

"Yes, indeed."

"So wait you're almighty? Like, I can write anything and it will happen? Something like that?"

The words glowed again.

"Yes, and at the same time, no. Currently, you are just a normal person. You can create events and stories involving Beyonders up to Sequence 6. If your writing involves a Sequence 5, the results will be faint at best or you may simply pass out from exhaustion. To influence higher sequences, you must become a beyonder and advance. And for example, if you write 'a Beyonder arrives at your house,' a King of Angels might descend upon you with malicious intent. You must always be precise and creative, or something disastrous will happen.

Also, do not worry. The moment your soul entered this body, I sealed away your memories of the cosmos and outer deities. You also have memories of this body as well."

Lukas processed the information for about twenty seconds before asking, "Alright… but what if I choose a pathway that already has a True God, and all the adjacent pathways have True Gods too? What then?"

The words shimmered.

"Don't worry. You are far from becoming an Angel—if you even survive until then. In time, you will understand why I am called the Almighty Quill. For now, you should know that the current year is 1348 of the Fifth Epoch… one year before Klein transmigrates."

Lukas fell silent, digesting everything. Eventually, he wanted to explore the house, but then he realized reaching Sequence 9 shouldn't take too long. His gaze fell upon the quill in his hand. Determination flickered in his eyes. He began to write:

*A right-hand man of Viscount Johnatan, named Jack, finally found an opportunity to obtain a Sequence 9 Spectator potion. This took place at exactly 3:00 in the morning, not far from the house where Lukas—the owner of the Quill—lived.

However, just before the gathering ended, the Machinery Hivemind ambushed them, for one of the attendees was a traitor who had reported the place and time. Jack barely managed to escape, though he was gravely injured. He carried the potion in his right pocket. At exactly 3:43, he would stagger into Lukas's house.

But inside, Lukas would kill Jack and the potion will be unharmed.

When Lukas finished, he glanced at the clock on the wall. The hands pointed to 3:12.

A smile appeared at his lips. He stood up from the chair, It was time to find a weapon.
