Chapter 2 - Episodes six love in the limelight

Love in the Limelight

The world woke up to chaos.

News outlets ran the rooftop photos side by side: Luna and Jayden eating ramen on the floor, Luna laughing, Jayden staring at her like she was the only star in the universe.

Headlines screamed:

"OFFICIAL: Luna Park in Love!"

"Street Boy & Superstar Confirm Romance!"

"Fans Divided: Fairytale or Career Suicide?"

At Star Entertainment, the PR team looked like they'd aged ten years overnight.

"This is a disaster," one moaned.

"This is opportunity," another argued.

"Romance sells. Let's spin it as a love story for the ages!"

Meanwhile, Jayden sat in the lobby, knees bouncing, heart hammering. He muttered to himself, "Okay. Breathe. Don't panic. Just millions of people watching my every move. Totally fine."

Luna walked in wearing shades and confidence. She grabbed his hand without hesitation. "Ready?"

Jayden squeaked, "No."

"Too bad." She smiled.

The press conference was broadcast live worldwide.

Cameras clicked. Reporters leaned forward.

Luna spoke first, calm but firm. "Yes. I'm in love with Jayden. I won't deny it, and I won't apologize for it."

Gasps rippled through the room.

Jayden swallowed hard. He stepped up to the mic. "Uh… hi. I'm Jayden. Street musician. Part-time human disaster. Full-time guy who's crazy about Luna."

The crowd erupted—half laughter, half outrage.

Backstage, Crystal watched the live stream, her nails digging into her palm. She hissed, "She thinks this will end like a fairytale? Not if I can help it."

She pulled out her phone, sending a message to an unknown number.

> Crystal: Leak the video.

That night, Jayden and Luna sat on the rooftop again, watching the city lights.

"You know," Jayden said, strumming his guitar softly, "I thought the scariest thing in the world was falling for you. Turns out it's actually press conferences."

Luna laughed, leaning her head on his shoulder. "You did fine."

He looked down at her, his chest tightening with something warm, something unstoppable. "We're really doing this, huh? You and me. Against the world."

Her fingers found his. "Against the world."

But just as the moment settled, Jayden's phone buzzed with a new notification.

A leaked video.

The title read:

"Jayden's Past Revealed – The Truth About the Street Boy"

His smile faltered. His heart dropped.

Secrets, Scandals, and a Shattered Heart

The leaked video spread like wildfire.

A shaky phone recording. A younger Jayden in a dingy club, arguing with someone off-camera. His voice, raw and angry:

> "I don't need anyone. I don't care about friends, family, or loyalty. Music's the only thing that matters!"

Then, the punchline—Jayden storming out, knocking over equipment, leaving behind stunned faces.

The internet lost its mind.

"So he's a hothead?!"

"He abandoned his old band?"

"He's just using Luna for fame!"

Hashtags trended: #CancelJayden #LunaDeservesBetter

Jayden sat frozen in his apartment, the video replaying again and again. His chest felt hollow.

"That was years ago…" he whispered. "I was stupid. I was angry. But no one cares about that, do they?"

Max tried to reassure him. "Bro, everyone says dumb stuff when they're young. I once told a girl my dream job was being Batman. It doesn't mean—"

Jayden cut him off, voice breaking. "This is different. This… this ruins her."

At Star Entertainment, Luna slammed her fist on the table. "This is clearly edited! They twisted his words!"

Her manager shook his head. "Doesn't matter. The damage is done. Sponsors are threatening to sue. Luna, if you stay with him, you'll lose everything."

Luna's eyes burned. "Then I'll lose everything."

But Jayden… couldn't let her.

That night, he showed up at her penthouse, pale and trembling.

"Luna," he said, voice low. "We need to end this."

She froze. "What are you talking about?"

He forced a laugh, but it cracked. "You were right. I'm just street trash orbiting your light. And now I'm dragging you down with me. It's better if—"

She grabbed his arm. "Don't you dare finish that sentence."

Tears stung his eyes. "I can't let you throw away everything for me."

Her voice broke too. "And I can't let you walk away. Not now. Not when I—"

Before she could finish, her phone buzzed. A message from an unknown number.

> Unknown: This is just the beginning. Next time, the world will see what Jayden's really hiding.

Luna's grip on his arm tightened. Her eyes widened in fear.

"Jayden… what else are they talking about?"

His silence was answer enough.

The Past He Tried to Bury

Jayden didn't answer. He couldn't. His throat was locked, his hands trembling.

Luna's voice rose, desperate. "Jayden—what are they talking about? What else are you hiding from me?"

Finally, he whispered, "It's… about my brother."

Years earlier.

Jayden was seventeen. His brother, Ethan, was his idol—older, smarter, the one who taught him guitar. They played in the same band, dreaming of making it big.

But one night, a fight broke out. Ethan accused Jayden of being reckless, of putting music above everything else. Jayden, hot-headed and wounded, shouted the words that haunted him ever since:

> "I don't need you. I don't need anyone."

Hours later, Ethan left on his motorbike. He never made it home.

The guilt crushed Jayden. He dropped out, drifted, avoided attachments. Music was all he had left—but every song carried the echo of Ethan's absence.

Back in the present, Jayden's voice cracked as he confessed to Luna.

"The video… it wasn't just edited. It was real. That fight… those were the last words I ever said to him. And now the world knows. They'll never forgive me. And I don't deserve forgiveness."

Luna's eyes filled with tears. She reached for him, but he stepped back.

"I can't let you tie yourself to someone this broken," he said, voice shaking. "They'll eat you alive. You'll lose everything. And it'll be my fault again."

She whispered fiercely, "Don't you get it? You're not broken—you're human. And I don't care what the world thinks. I care about you."

Meanwhile, across the city, Crystal watched the chaos unfold from her luxury apartment.

She smirked, swirling wine in her glass. "Poor little Luna. Poor little Jayden. They think love can save them."

Her phone buzzed.

> Unknown Contact: Phase Two is ready. Should we release it?

Crystal typed back without hesitation.

> Do it.

The next morning, a new headline exploded online.

BREAKING NEWS: Shocking Footage of Jayden in Police Custody

The video showed Jayden years ago, being dragged into a police station after a street brawl—bloodied, furious, spitting curses.

Fans lost their minds. Sponsors bailed. The internet sharpened its knives.

And Luna's world? About to collapse.
