"Not going after Cross? Then what do we do?" Jill asked, a slight frown on her face.
Bullet Time was a god-tier ability for any gunfighter, and she was no exception.
Jill believed her marksmanship had reached its peak, making further progress difficult. Yet, this overpowered cheat, Bullet Time, still piqued her interest.
If she could master Bullet Time, even facing a situation like the previous night's Hell's Kitchen brawl, she'd have the confidence to control everything single-handedly.
"Cross is a fanatic; we went in the wrong direction trying to work with him!" Li Qingyuan slapped the steering wheel and instructed Red Queen.
"Have you located the Fraternity of Stone Masons' base?"
"They're running in circles!" In the projected video, Wesley was passed out in the passenger seat, while Fox was driving the beat-up Ferrari around the streets.
After circling for several minutes, feeling certain she'd shaken off any pursuers, Fox finally drove towards Staten Island.
The Fraternity of Stone Masons' main base was located in an ancient castle on Staten Island, by the sea. It was surrounded by water on three sides, with only the main gate facing outward. A circular railway also passed around the castle, making it a strategically defensible location, perfect for spotting any threats and making a quick escape.
Fox's anti-tracking skills were undoubtedly maxed out. If Jill had been driving and following, they would have been discovered long ago.
However, technological superiority meant she had no idea her sports car was already being tracked. After all, she was just an assassin, not a top-tier hacker!
The Fraternity of Stone Masons had no internal cameras, so once Fox parked the sports car in the garage, the rest was unknown to them.
"What do we do now?" Jill, her arm linked with Li Qingyuan's, walked to the coast after parking the Bentley. They pretended to be a couple enjoying the scenery, whispering to each other.
Because although those guys from the Fraternity of Stone Masons weren't proficient in high-tech, they were all killers with immense skills. If they were directly tailed and discovered, even with their strength, it would be dangerous.
"Let's find a way to talk to Sloan. He should be open to being bought!" Li Qingyuan looked at the vast, undulating surface of the sea in front of them, realizing that he had taken the wrong path from the beginning.
Admittedly, from the movie Wanted, Wesley is the protagonist, his father, Cross, is the second lead, and Sloan, who usurped control of the Fraternity, is an out-and-out villain.
But in reality, from a human perspective, Sloan's actions weren't wrong at all!
A group of assassination masters capable of making the world tremble becomes slaves to a machine for a ridiculous reason. They even have to shoot themselves when their names appear on the machine. Isn't that a joke?
Sloan using the Loom of Fate to benefit himself is only human nature!
This is also why, when Wesley exposed Sloan's true colors at the end, the entire Fraternity immediately switched sides.
Possessing unfathomable killing skills, they don't think about enjoying delicacies, luxurious clubs, and beautiful women every day. Instead, they have to work diligently, clocking in and out. They are textile workers during the day, suffering through a nine-to-five job, and then transform into righteous avengers to kill people at night.
Such high-intensity work, and an organization that doesn't treat its subordinates like humans, surviving until now without being overthrown is truly a cheat!
"Red Queen, connect to Sloan's private phone!" The Fraternity's headquarters was a massive castle, disguised as a large textile factory. And it really was a factory. A bunch of assassins worked there as laborers during the day.
Although there was no internet installed internally, there were still a few landline phones. Red Queen immediately connected the phone in Sloan's office.
"This is Staten Island Textile Factory, are you placing an order?" The phone rang for a while before someone picked up. An old voice came from the other end of the line.
"Mr. Sloan, I have a business proposition I'd like to discuss with you!" Li Qingyuan instructed Red Queen to slightly disguise the business before speaking.
"Are you planning to order linen or cotton? Our textile factory is definitely the best in New York."
"I'm willing to trade Cross's head plus one hundred million US dollars for something from you, what do you think?"
"Who exactly are you?" Sloan's voice on the phone sounded doubtful.
Few people currently knew about the traitor within the Fraternity of Stone Masons. Cross and Mr. X were the strongest combination that allowed the Fraternity to dominate. If other organizations knew that Mr. X was dead and Cross had defected, it would be a fatal blow to the Fraternity.
Not to mention other organizations, the guys at the Continental Hotel had always been eyeing the Fraternity!
"You don't need to know who I am, just tell me if you agree!"
"What do you want?" Sloan said after a moment of silence.
"The Loom of Fate, training methods for Bullet Time, and Fox!"
Jill glared at the person on the other end of the line, then viciously ground her heel into his foot.
"Impossible, don't even think about it!" Sloan hung up the phone with a nasty tone. If the other party had only asked for Fox, he would have handed her over without a second thought. After all, although Fox was also a skilled fighter, in Sloan's eyes, she wasn't even worth a million dollars.
That was the truth. Even a curvaceous beauty wouldn't fetch more than a million dollars on the black market. Even with Fox's excellent skills, she would only add a zero at most!
The training method for Bullet Time was the critical foundation that allowed the Fraternity of Stone Masons to remain at the top of the assassin rankings for so many years, and Sloan would never hand over this method.
Of course, if the other party could really bring him Cross's head in exchange, then, with a little extra, Sloan thought it was something he could consider!
Who would turn down money these days?
Especially since Sloan had long been planning to retire, sell everything, and buy an island to live out his days, so selling was not a problem.
But that Loom of Fate, even if he wanted to sell it, he wouldn't dare!
Don't let his position as the Fraternity of Stone Masons' president fool you, making him seem all-powerful and arrogant, able to kill anyone he pleases. In reality, all of Sloan's power came from the Loom.
If he dared to sell the Loom, those fanatics would dig him up from the ground and beat him to death, no questions asked!
"Looks like someone's plan failed!" Jill said with a smile.
"Come on, be serious!" Li Qingyuan, annoyed, slapped her on the butt and removed Jill's foot from his own.
This girl was really ruthless. Luckily, his constitution was good. If an ordinary person had been stepped on by her in high heels, wouldn't their foot have a gaping hole?
"He's not at his wit's end yet, so naturally, he's unwilling to accept my terms! But in a few days, I'm sure he won't be so tough!"
