Amara acted like she'd won the lottery. The woman practically bounced on her heels, clearly convinced this was her lucky break—a whole week alone with me.
'This has to be my reward for putting up with his attitude. Just imagine all the luxury I'll get after one wild night with Carlos!' Amara's thoughts were written all over her face.
I could see her mind racing, probably dreaming up some elaborate surprise. Maybe she figured we'd jet off somewhere tropical after Canada—Hawaii, perhaps!
'And then we'll have sweet, passionate nights with him taking me every single evening. Hell, I wouldn't even mind having his baby. I could sell it for serious cash if Carlos doesn't want to marry me,' her scheming thoughts were painfully obvious.
She'd never gotten pregnant before—always careful with protection and pills to avoid that complication.
