Carlos's POV
"Sleep with another woman?" I frowned, the words tasting bitter. "You're suggesting I get someone else pregnant and steal her child so I don't have to destroy Grace that way?"
"Yes, Sir," Andrew gave a firm nod. "We both understand Mrs. Preston' position makes her the perfect cover for our operation, but I also understand you can't sacrifice her or a child you'd have together."
"What if you impregnated someone else instead? It might not work as well as using Mrs. Preston' baby, but it could serve as sufficient leverage, don't you think?" Andrew pressed.
I could see he looked sick to his stomach as he spoke those words. Andrew wasn't a monster, or at least that's what he seemed to tell himself. But I knew this operation was his entire world now, and he'd go to any lengths to see it through.
I stayed quiet, weighing the impossible choices before me. I doubted I could even get aroused with anyone but Grace anymore, but if this meant sparing her pain, then...
