I took charge of reviewing the entire document to confirm the contract's security. After consulting with our legal team and examining the initial draft previously, I felt confident everything was accurate and properly arranged. Once I verified all details were correct, I nodded approvingly and passed the pen to Brenda for her signature before offering it to Carlos.
"Wait, you expect me to sign this contract?" Carlos questioned, clearly surprised by the request.
"Of course, you're the genius behind this brilliant concept," I responded. "Plus, as CEO, you have more authority to execute this agreement than I do."
Carlos hadn't anticipated that I would willingly surrender the privilege of signing such a crucial document to him. Truth be told, he genuinely believed I didn't acknowledge his authority as CEO and would attempt to control the company's operations.
Despite Carlos's confusion about my choice, he dutifully executed the contract alongside Brenda Banks.
