Grace explained, "The female lead, his wife, advised him to concentrate on their children instead of her. She understood he was doing his utmost, which is why she chose not to mail those letters while hospitalized—she wanted him and the kids to heal from her inevitable passing. It's heartbreaking, but the male lead isn't despicable, just misinterpreted."
"What's your take? Do you side with the Director or the Author?" Grace turned the question back to me.
I considered this carefully before answering, "The Author."
Grace's eyebrows shot up immediately. "That's unexpected. I assumed you'd support my view."
