"Your woman?!" I wanted to avoid confronting my boss initially. Being a professional meant I always strived to keep work and personal matters separate. Yet this man made no effort to maintain that boundary.
Just look at what he was doing—casually sliding his arm around my waist and drawing me against him like we were actually a couple.
Couldn't he see how reckless this behavior was?
It enraged me because I'd poured everything into keeping this company alive after his brother's passing, while this man seemed completely indifferent to whether his carelessness destroyed everything.
"Mr. Benjamin, you've got some nerve calling me your woman after nothing more than a one-night stand. Weren't you the one who said we should forget our troubles and just enjoy ourselves for an evening? Can't you even stick to your own words?" I mocked him, hoping this would finally make him back down.
