Carlos's POV
I stopped for a moment, wondering what thoughts were spinning through this woman's mind. But Heather quickly continued, "I do like you, Carlos. I really do. Any woman would be crazy not to like you, but watching you try to make me into someone else just so you can sleep with me—that's a major red flag."
"Plus, it means you're completely head-over-heels for this Grace of yours, and I'm not the kind of woman who fights over a man," Heather said. She stood up from her seat and picked up her purse. "Don't worry, your assistant took care of the bill. I'm leaving now. Goodbye, Carlos."
"…" I stayed quiet and nodded, watching her walk out. To be honest, I'd already forgotten that woman's name. I'd had plenty of lovers before Grace, so their faces had become a blur, all mixing together over time.
None of that mattered though, because I had something far more important to handle: taking my woman's call!
