Shu Feng's dojo was quite far away from the city where all his students lived, so to get to his dojo, it would require a car or some sort of transportation. This is why no one has shown up early, but rather they show up late.
Though, his three combat students typically show up roughly five minutes before the children, and stay for an extra hour longer. Sometimes they won't come for the afternoon sessions, and come an hour later due to the children.
Shu Feng didn't really care when they showed up. After all, they paid for the time given already, so whether they show up or not isn't his concern.
But now with the System, Shu Feng wished that they came early today.
Teaching the children wouldn't be much help with the enlightenment perk. Shu Feng could see and point out their problems with his eyes closed, and it's not like they have some sort of superpowers for him to observe. If they did, they surely wouldn't come to his ordinary dojo.
Speaking of which, why didn't my world have a dimensional rank? Shu Feng thought.
Just when he thought of this, blue text started to float in his vision.
The host world is what is called an anomaly world. Anomaly worlds can hold any type of being, but their power would be limited to the world's will. To explore more secrets about your world, please level up your dojo!
Shu Feng's eyes narrowed when he read the text, and shuddered slightly releasing the horror behind this.
Does that mean fourth, fifth, or even ninth dimensional beings could be living here, but because of the world's will suppressing their strengths, we'd never know? But why would such beings want to come and live in a world that suppresses their strength? I really want to know, but what does the system only give out such little information! Sigh, teacher and growing stronger should be my main goal, the thoughts of higher beings shouldn't be what I should worry about right now.
Shu Feng shook his head, and sat down on a mat in his dojo as he patiently waited for his students to come in.
Sure enough, after three minutes of waiting, his first 18 year old student came in.
It was a girl with a long black ponytail. She was small for her age, being 5 '2 in height, or 157.48 cm tall. She wore a black robe that was loose which hid all her torso, and baggy pants.
"Yo, teach! Did you change this place overnight? It looks much better than before." The girl said, her black eyes checking out the place.
"Lin Qingzhu, sounds like something good has happened?" Shu Feng said with a chuckle.
Lin Qingzhu was somewhat introverted, but today she seems quite lively, which surprised Shu Feng a little, but laughed it off.
Lin Qingzhu nodded, but didn't say what made her happy, and her eyes stared at the swords on the wall.
Shu Feng followed her eyes, and a smile appeared on his face.
Perfect opportunity
"What to try them out in a spar? They haven't been used yet, and testing them out wouldn't hurt. Though be careful, as they are sharp."
Lin Qingzhu's eyes flashed and took a look at Shu Feng.
"Teach, is it really safe to use sharp swords to spar?" Lin Qingzhu said, her tone a little hesitant.
"Don't worry about injuring me, and I'll go easy on you." Shu Feng said, getting up from the mat and grabbed two swords. He threw one at Lin Qingzhu, causing her to stubble as she caught the sword.
Seeing her catch the sword, Shu Feng began to unsheath his blade and pointed at Lin Qingzhu.
Teacher Mode Activated.
Shu Feng's eyes changed, and he felt that the world was so much clearer. Everything seemed slow. He could calculate the trajectory of every fly; even the mistakes of Lin Qingzhu unsheathing her sword became much clearer.
"When unsheathing a sword, use your arm to pull it out, not your hand." Shu Feng said, his voice calm.
Shu Feng could clearly see Lin Qingzhu wrist being used, causing the blade to be caught on the scabber. Although harmless to some degree, fixing it would allow her to unsheath her sword faster and get it into proper positioning.
Lin Qingzhu's actions paused for a second, and followed Shu Feng's advice.
"Teacher, what about the kids? Are you going to let them watch?" Lin Qingzhu asked, getting her body ready.
"Why not? The children love watching you and your two brothers fight, but they never saw me fight." Shu Feng said, and suddenly approached Lin Qingzhu with his sword thrusting at her.
Lin Qingzhu quickly parried, but Shu Feng caught many flaws thanks to the enlightenment.
"Blocking was corrected, but you didn't fix your footwork causing your stance to be broken." Shu Feng said. His voice was like a humanoid robot. Constantly analyzing and giving feedback.
Lin Qingzhu already felt the pressure, and when Shu Feng called out her mistakes, he'd immediately act on them, causing her stance to break. If this was a real fight, Lin Qingzhu would've been dead by now.
This wasn't because she had terrible skills, but Shu Feng's enlightenment state could break through any of her defenses, making her never get the chance to go on the offensive.
This… The teacher is really terrible. I never struggle this much against the other two. But when I sparred with the teacher before, he was never this overpowering. Could this be a new teaching method? He is telling me a lot of mistakes I'm making. Lin Qingzhu thought, and kept correcting herself with Shu Feng's guidance.
Shu Feng was also surprised by the power of enlightenment, and could feel his sword skills improve tremendously even if his opponent is that of weaker strength.
Could the children actually help me improve my sword skill? After all, children have the most creative minds out of all humans. Shu Feng thought as he still spoke out on Lin Qingzhu's weaknesses.
He didn't even have to try to spot them, he just knew them. He could fight and have an entire conversation while playing chest with his left hand and still be able to point out her weaknesses and break her stance every time. That's just how terrible the power of enlightenment is.
As the two fought, children from other families started to come in with their parents, but when they saw the change in the dojo, they all showed a hint of surprise, but when they saw Shu Feng and Lin Qingzhu sparring, they didn't interrupt, and bent down and whispered something in their child's ears then left.
Most parents still have work to attend to, and most sign their children up because they don't trust them alone at home.
The kids didn't pay attention to their parents' words, and they stared at Shu Feng and Lin Qingzhu sparring. Although it was a one sided fight with Shu Feng giving out pointers, it was enough to entertain the children who haven't seen Shu Feng fight up close.
Sadly for them, none of the children are allowed to touch the weapons, and Shu Feng will only teach them self-defense techniques.
"So cool!" One of the children said with his eyes wide.
The others around him nodded and began to chat with each other about Shu Feng's fight.
Shu Feng noticed the increase of students, and it wasn't long before fifteen students came pouring in. Only Lin Qingzhu came in out of all the adults.
"Let's stop here. With the pointers I gave, you should have some ideas on how to improve yourself, especially your stance." Shu Feng said, and took a step back and lowered his sword.
Lin Qingzhu nodded, and whipped off the sweat from her forehead as she took the sword to the back of the dojo to have some peace and quiet as she trained. She didn't like the kids much, but she always came in before them for an extra bit of guidance from Shu Feng.
As she reached the back of the dojo where she would train, she took out a piece of paper, and looked at Shu Feng and back at the piece of paper.
Meanwhile Lin Qingzhu was having her own thoughts, Shu Feng rounded up the kids and began teaching them self defense techniques.
As time and time passed, Shu Feng's disappointment grew.
It doesn't seem like I can increase my ability in self defense techniques. At best, I can identify beginners' weak points a lot, but once fighting skilled opponents who won't make such mistakes, this becomes useless. Oh well, the point of the system is to teach, and seeing their weaknesses will only help me train them. But these kids can only go so far compared to a magical world with powers. I only need to teach them for nineteen more days and I won't accept new or returning students, but I will keep the three adult students. Of course this depends on whether I can earn lots of money in that world, as gold seems to be the standard currency in novels and what not.
Shu Feng thought, and kept teaching the kids.
As time went by, only he and Lin Qingzhu were left, and the other two adult students hadn't come.
Are they not coming today? Shu Feng thought, and checked his phone.
On his phone, he saw that he had two unread messages, and immediately checked them as they're from his two adult students.
Sorry teach, I won't be coming to your classes anymore, and have taken classes with others - Jin Dong.
To Shu Feng: I won't be coming in for any more classes and have joined another dojo. I'm sorry for the inconvenience this might cause - Ling Huang.
Shu Feng raised a brow when he read the two messages, and turned his head over to Lin Qingzhu.
"Hey Qingzhu, do you know why your two brothers left the dojo?" Shu Feng asked.
Lin Qingzhu's face showed a bit of hesitation, but she summoned up the courage and took out a piece of paper from her pocket and walked from the back of the dojo to Shu Feng.
"It should be because of this." Lin Qingzhu said, and handed Shu Feng the piece of paper with both hands.
Shu Feng took the piece of paper and scanned the text, and when he did, he could only sigh.
True Style Martial Arts Hall - Accepting any student with skill and can participate in the upcoming tournament for 300,000 Yuan!
"Do you plan on joining the True Style Martial Arts Hall?" Shu Feng asked.
He hasn't heard of the True Style Martial Arts Hall, but allowing anyone to participate in an upcoming tournament definitely has its down sides. For example, since you aren't actively getting new students for the hall, they'd probably take half of your tournament winnings as compensation and for allowing you to participate.
No matter what, 150,000 Yuan isn't something to scoff at.
"No, I plan to stay here." Lin Qingzhu said, but there was still some hesitation on her face which Shu Feng noticed.
"Say what's on your mind and stop hesitating. As a swordsman, you shouldn't hesitate one bit." Shu Feng said, shaking his head lightly.
That's one of Lin Qingzhu's problems, which was her hesitation, and Shu Feng has been trying to boost up her confidence to hope to fix it.
"Teacher, why don't you sign me up with the tournament? The tournament starts next month, and I believe in your training and skills to help me take the victory." Lin Qingzhu said, and the memories of her sparring this morning came to mind.
"Sign you up?"
Shu Feng fell silent for a moment.
He never thought of signing his students up for some swordsmanship tournament. He mainly focused on his younger students, teaching them how to defend themselves against others, and the whole swordsmanship thing was a side thing he was interested in.
