We just stand like that for what feels like forever. My face is in his chest as I let out a few more sobs and then out of no where Rhett tilts my face up and kisses me. I'm too stunned to react right away and before I do the door bursts open and standing there is Cliff. His chest is rising and falling and I can tell he's close to shifting. I guess it's past the 7 minutes.
"The rumors are true!" He seethes, "You two are sneaking around our backs!"
"You're dead Rhett! Touching MY mate! Putting your dirty lips on hers! Trying to claim what belongs to US!" Outlaw's angry gravelly voice is leaving Cliff's lips as they close the distance and grab Rhett, ripping him away from where he was and pinning him to the wall. "You will never have her! She will never belong to you! She will always be ours! She may have slummed with you for a brief minute but we are her chosen mate, we will mark her, mate her and love her forever! She's OURS! Mine, Cliff's! OURS!!" He's growling in his face.
"Hahahaha! You really don't see it! Don't feel it! The change in her's and Summer's affection towards you both! WOW! They say love is blind but even you can't be so unaware that you didn't notice there's something off!" He turns to look at me, "No offense Amethyst but you're not that good at acting like nothing is wrong. Anyone who is paying attention can see that you tense when he touches you, the slight disgust on your face when he kisses you. Anyone who's not blind can see that." He turns back to Cliff with a smirk, "I doubt they will go through with a mating ceremony, I think you're wrong about her always being yours."
A roar slips past Cliff's mouth, "What are you talking about?" He grits out, "Of course they will go through the mating ceremony with us, it's always been our plan since the moment we chose each other as mates." He turns to me. "Amy, tell him you still choose me and Outlaw." At this point we have quite a few onlookers, Fred and even Catherine entered the room and all eyes are on me now. I'm sure people can tell I was crying but I'm sure no one except Rhett knows the actual reason why. I take a deep breath and let it out, it's now time to reveal the truth.
I pull out my phone, quickly pull up the video and air play it to all the tvs down here. There's no sound, even though Rhett and I were able to hear everything that happened and everything that was said at the beach, the human technology can't pick up sounds from that far away. We were lucky enough that the video was clear. The second people realized what and who they were watching there were gasps all around. Fred looked angry, Catherine started to look sick, Rhett had a smirk across his face and Cliff just dropped his hands from around Rhett and turned to me fully with what looked like guilt and regret written all over his face. I finally began to speak.
"As you can see Cliff, I found out that you and Catherine have been cheating on me and Rhett."
"Baby, it's not what it looks like, videos can be fa-"
"Don't! I was there that night so was Rhett, he contacted me shortly after you brought me home that day, told me his suspicions and we tracked you two, that video was taken by him himself. We heard and saw EVERYTHING that's in that video in person." I cut him off. "I trusted you Cliff, I trusted you with my heart and my soul, so much so that Summer and I were willing to give up on our fated mate for you, for forever, but you couldn't keep it in your pants the minute another she-wolf showed you a little bit of interest!"
"Baby," Cliff walked over to me and grabbed my hands tears forming in his eyes. "I'm so sorry, please forgive me, forgive us. We will never do something like this again."
I let out a sigh and whisper, "You know, I may have been slightly more forgiving if she was your fated mate because I have heard that the pull is hard to resist for unmated wolves and even mated wolves struggle to resist fate until they break the bond but I know for a fact she's not so, no Cliff, no Outlaw, we won't be forgiving you, this broke us, we no longer choose you as our mate, we are completely done with this relationship. We can no longer trust you, if this was a test from the moon goddess to see if we could be true to someone that's not the mate she gave to us, you failed and you failed big time. After today don't contact me again. Finish off your break, go back to college and move on because we will never be anything to each other anymore." I took my hands out of his and turned to walk away. He then fell to his knees the tears finally falling from his eyes.
Then I heard him say, "You failed too and I forgive you, why can't you forgive me, why can't we just move past this."
I turned around and looked him dead in the eye, "See that's where you are wrong, I never actually cheated on you, I never broke your trust, whatever anyone saw or think they saw, Rhett and I planned, we faked cheating to see what you would do. We made it a public display so that it would get back to you. We literally did nothing but hang out as friends only with a little more cuddles to make certain angles look like we were kissing or doing things couples do, but we never crossed any lines, not like you two did. So no Cliff, I didn't fail." I turned to walk away again and he grabbed my wrist.
"I just saw you too kiss, how can you say you never crossed any lines!" He was angry now.
Rhett chimed in, "That was actually all on me, that was the first time I kissed her, she didn't even kiss me back. She was crying over your relationship and I just acted. She probably would have smacked me if you didn't bust through the door in that moment."
"Yeah, I would have." I said. "So there you have it." I ripped my arm away from Cliff's hold and finally ran upstairs and out the door. I didn't bother to look back. I ran until I got to the edge of the woods. Ducking under some trees and bushes, I stripped out of my clothes and shoes then shifted. We left the outfit in a small hollowed tree and took off, figuring if we really wanted to we could come back for it tomorrow morning.
