"What?" Did she hear him correctly or did those words played out in her mind's ear? She stared at him in utter shock, mouth agap. Nah, he must be joking, he probably said that to see my reaction, she thought to herself. "I love you vee and i'm willing to do whatever to prove it to you" Her phone pinged, she picked it up and on the screen was the headline for the day 'famous billionaire Gregory Thompson calls off wedding a day before' 'most anticipated wedding of the century is put on hold without stated reasons' 'what happened to gregcinth 2026?' 'Soon to be couples cut ties before the d day' And a lot more like that, she covered her mouth in shock as tears gathered in her eyes. "It's true?" She managed to say despite the shock. "I told you" "Why? Why would you do such a thing to your fiancee? Why greg why?" She yelled. "BECAUSE I LOVE YOU VEE!" He yelled back. She sank to the ground. "I love you. And nothing else matters" he leaned on her from behind and held her close "i don't want to miss the opportunity to be with the person that makes my heart beat, i can't lose you" "This is wrong greg" tears rolled down her eyes as she leaned back on him "so wrong" "Stop saying that vee, i don't know how else to go about it, i won't let go, ever" Vanessa cried in anger and guilt, she's the reason hyacinth's dream got crushed, how would she face society, what would become of her? She honestly thought her plan of having sex with greg would wake him up from his fantasies unknown to her that it would cause further damage. She hated herself now. She stood up without saying a word, picked her bag and left. Few weeks passed and no one has seen or heard from vanessa. Greg was restless, he searched for her everywhere he could think of, he flew to the caribbean and combed the place in search of her but couldn't find her, her family were oblivious of her whereabouts too. She didn't have a best friend or close tight buddy that would've been a-briefed of her situation. Greg was frustrated, he had to deal with the media and his former fiancee and vanessa's absence. He wished he hadn't let her walked out of the suite, memories of that day taunts him every now and then. He hired special agents around the globe to find her but even the best of them came back with negative results. Months passed and there was still no sign of vanessa. Everyone was forced to assume her dead or gone forever. A year went by and it was concluded she would never come back ever, a funeral was conducted for her and a grave stone carved in her memory. Greg visited his favourite pub after dropping a bouquet of roses on vanessa's grave, he'd succumbed to excessive drinking lately, that's the only soothing his heart could take after undergoing a terrible loss. It was three weeks after the new year and it still snowed, everywhere was busy and lively, the holidays were over but decorations still hung here and there in offices and public places. Greg ordered shots till he became tipsy, he didn't care cause he had his driver and guards with him. He wasn't worried about the media anymore cause he came clean about the reason behind him calling off the wedding, he told the media that for the first time in his life he felt love, he told them why he had decided to marry hyacinth and the truth that she supported the wedding being called off, cause weeks earlier she made it clear to him that she was fully aware that he was in love with Vanessa and wouldn't mind stepping out of the picture for him to be with who he is happy and really in love with, he was happy when she told him and that made him respect her the more. They even appeared on live interviews together, this made the media not scrutinize the whole issue and make a lasting deal out of it, when vanessa was no where to be found, they sympathized with greg....

The wedding was garden themed, everywhere looked glamorous and breath taking, vanessa loved every detail of it, from the golden flowers to the glittering chandeliers, to the smart team setting, to the theme, to her beautiful golden wedding dress that gave her the appearance of a goddess. The day was more than Vanessa had wished, dreamed and imagined it to be. Her soon to be husband Greg made it even more perfect. He was successful, famous and in love with vanessa. When it was his turn to say his vows, he took her hand and stared deep into her eyes, his gaze sent shivers down her spine, she really can't believe she's not caught up in one of her utopia daydreams. He looked like a disney prince character, tall, extremely handsome with a well crafted jawline, thick neck length brown hair, beard hair that ran from his temple to his chin, his lush lips that looked like cherry made his golden eyes more pronounced, those eyes that pierced through vanessa's heart pon first encounter, his gym built body gives him the character of Eugene from tangled. Greg was handsome and makes male partners invisible when he's in the room. He said his vows and kissed vanessa, she shut her eyes and sapped in every bit of it, she moaned quietly when his lips touched hers, nothing could be more perfect than this right here, surely this was the kiss that raised sleeping beauty from her death sleep, she thought to herself.

After the wedding, they flew on a private jet to a private island for their honeymoon. The honeymoon phase was exciting, Vanessa loved every detail of it, they'd flown to a luxurious apartment situated on a beautiful island Greg rented for their honeymoon, the island had towering palm trees that gave it a tropical ambiance, clear ocean water, fresh moist island air, cream coloured sand and fresh flowers.

"Wow!" Was what Vanessa could utter when their boat drew close enough to get a good view of the place, the apartment was made of pure glass you could see the open sky while inside, it's reflection on the outside gave it a camouflage look with the greenery and vegetation surrounding it.

"Glad you like it" Greg said in a relaxed baritone.

"Like? I love it" excited vanessa kissed her husband.

"Wait till you see how the inside looks like" he added.

"Aww... This is too much hon"

"Don't say that, nothing is ever too much for you my love" he held her waist and drew her closer to himself, he stared deeply into her eyes and said "i'll move mountains for you if i have to"

"How am i this lucky?" She bit her lips seductively.

"I dunno, the question should be how are you this beautiful."

They both giggled.

Vanessa sighed heavily as those memories flashed by in her head, she cursed under her breath.

"Guess the beauty faded too quickly Greg." She stood up from the couch she sat and had coffee earlier on. "Burn these with the rest" she tossed a copy of her wedding magazine to the maid close by and walked to her room hurriedly. "When is the lawyer going to be here?" She asked a guard standing by an entrance.

"Shortly ma'am" he replied.

"Good! I'll be in the penthouse" she walked to a lift and pressed the last floor button as soon as the doors closed.

As the lift ascended, she went over her plan in her head, as soon as the divorce papers are signed she planned on leaving the country to avoid making headlines and being called out for unnecessary interviews, she'd use her shares to invest overseas and start off clean, where no one has an idea of her former life or marriage problems. The plan pleased her, she smiled to herself. The doors opened, she walked into the penthouse, this place holds a lot of beautiful memories that has turned sour over the last few months, the entire house was a gift from Greg to her, especially the penthouse, it was designed specially for her, it had a green house, a pool, few furnitures that gave it the ambiance of an outdoor chill area but in a sophisticated setting. She walked to the centre and flash backs kept recurring in her head, she remembered how she walked into the room in excitement, being newly wed she was caught up in a romance frenzy, she smiled like a kid on a christmas morning, she was in love with the then charming and loving greg. Greg held her close to himself and asked if it was designed to her taste. Of course it was, to show how truly grateful she was, she kissed him passionately and they spent the night there.

She touched the huge sofa and images of their exotic love affair came back alive in her mind, she remembers his tight but gentle grip, how his hands caressed her body and made her moan her loudest, his kisses "ugh! So darn good!" He kisses every part of her body while she moans in pleasure and makes her peak her climax before he does. Those days would forever haunt her, she shut her eyes tight to stop the memories and the feelings it brought with it. Her phone rang and she received the call. It was her guard, he had call to inform her that the lawyer is here. She entered the lift, readjusted her clothes and made for the ground floor, the doors opened and she was shocked to see who it was.
