Chapter 2 - The Cursed Legacy of Icevolcanoman

When Oluwa absorbed the crystal in the Rift of Balance, he thought he had survived a miracle. But soon he realized the truth — the powers were never meant to bless a human. They were a curse, a punishment bound to whoever touched the Rift.

The prophecy didn't speak of a hero. It spoke of a sacrifice.

The vessel chosen by the Rift was not crowned to rule but condemned to suffer.

Every day, the curse burns and freezes him at once. His fire side constantly aches, as though lava runs through his veins, while his ice side gnaws with eternal cold, freezing his bones. The two elements tear at each other inside him, trying to rip him apart from within.

Worse still, he hears whispers — voices of Fyragos, Lord of Flame, and Cryona, Mistress of Frost. They tempt him, mock him, sometimes scream in his mind. If his will falters, even for a moment, he risks losing control. The curse will consume him, and the titans will break free through his body.

The villagers he once protected now fear him. Some call him chosen, but others call him cursed, believing he is the herald of destruction. He cannot touch others for too long without burning or freezing them. He cannot live an ordinary life.

Oluwa did not ask for this fate. Yet he carries it because he must. For if he fails, the world will collapse into firestorms and endless winters.

Icevolcanoman is not the hero the world dreamed of.

He is the prisoner of the Rift, cursed to suffer so that others may live.
