Hikari took Raizen's hand at some point without him even noticing it happen.
It had started as nothing — her fingers finding his wrist where it rested on the desk between them, turning it over, running her thumb along the ridge of callus below his fingers, looking for something to do with her hands. She traced the old scar across his palm, the one she healed back in Ukai. She pressed each knuckle in turn, like checking they all still worked.
Raizen let her and did not point out that she was doing it, because pointing it out would have ended it.
Then her thumb stopped.
"What's this?"
She turned his palm to the screen.
Nine digits, written in pen ink across the heel of his hand, smudged now and gone grey at the edges from four hours of desk and sweat. He'd probably done it on the walk home, the writing looked rushed. But he wrote it on his own skin — to be absolutely certain he would never forget.
"Numbers," he said simply, trying to avoid the situation.
