Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Konoha's Dead Last is Actually the Strongest

Rin was actually mistaken. Obito was a very good liar. He had fooled many people completely.

Uchiha Itachi, Uchiha Sasuke, the Kage from various villages, Nagato, Konan, and so on, and so forth. Even his teacher, Minato, could not recognize him.

But Rin was not wrong either. Obito would not lie to her.

Even something like being reborn and returning, Obito did not want to hide it from Rin.

He smiled and said, "Rin, I will tell you everything. But this is a very, very long story. It cannot be finished in a short while. Let us find a time to talk slowly, okay?"

Rin felt relieved and gave a firm "Mm."

Obito smiled, took Rin's hand, and headed towards the school building.

"Now, let's go find Kakashi first. That waste... Ahem, he is considered a genius too. Graduating at five years old. I wonder if the Ninja Academy has ever had such a precedent before?"

Rin was led by Obito, turning her head to look at this boy who, in her memory, was somewhat insecure yet passionate and lively.

She felt Obito was different from before. Not only were his eyes much sharper, but he had also become more domineering.

Rin's small face blushed slightly. She didn't really resist this feeling. On the contrary, she could sense that Obito wanted to shelter her from the wind and rain, giving her a strong feeling of security.

However.

Rin asked curiously.

"Obito, how did you know Kakashi is going to graduate? I also just received the news and came to find you immediately."

Obito smiled and said, "That's also included in the things I want to tell you. Let's keep it a secret for now. Anyway, let's find that guy Kakashi first. Since we can't hide it from him anyway, to save time, I'll tell both of you together."

Immediately, the worry between Rin's brows vanished completely.

"Obito... You obviously care about Kakashi too, still so tsundere."

Obito instantly became flustered. "Who... Who cares about him? He's just an add on."

Rin nodded, covering her small mouth with her other hand and giggling secretly. "Okay, let's consider him an add on then. Let's hurry up, time is running short..."

Just like that, the two picked up their pace and arrived at the school building.

At that moment, the entrance of the school building was crowded with people. Most were classmates from Class A, first year. Obito glanced around and saw many familiar faces.

Might Guy, Yūhi Kurenai, Sarutobi Asuma, Shizune, Gekkō Hayate, Shiranui Genma, Yūgao Uzuki, Ebisu... Oh, and the two gate guards.

As for why most of the people who came were classmates from Class A, first year, it wasn't because Kakashi was in their class, so students from other classes didn't want to come and watch.

No joke, graduating from the ninja school at five years old was something that might not happen even once in a lifetime. Even most of the villagers in Konoha really wanted to join in and see the excitement.

But, other classes were different from theirs. Most students in other classes came from civilian families. They didn't have as many parents in high positions within Konoha's leadership, lacked corresponding information, and simply didn't know what was happening today in the school building.

Civilians were undoubtedly tragic. The tragedy lay in the fact that they could only go with the flow. Even if they became ninjas, they might be used as cannon fodder and die in the war.

Or, they could be staying safely in the village and still get caught in the crossfire of some powerful ninja's technique, losing their lives on the spot.

This point held true even in the most peaceful Konoha Village.

But at the same time, civilians also had their happy aspects. They wouldn't be troubled by knowing too much and could live relatively carefree lives...

Unlike their class, where confidential information of this level was known to everyone, making people more acutely aware that the gap between people was bigger than that between people and dogs.

In his previous life, Obito didn't understand anything. But now, he knew very well in his heart that their class was special. It was the elite class of their year.

It not only gathered children from major bloodline limit clans and secret technique clans, but also included the son of the ANBU commander-in-chief and the son of the Hokage.

However, even among this elite class, the ones who ended up most successful, besides the genius Kakashi, were actually him and Might Guy, the two dead lasts.

He himself need not be said, became the second Sage of Six Paths, almost achieving supremacy over all living beings, opposing the entire world by himself.

That man Guy was also ridiculously strong. Not only did he obstruct Obito's plans multiple times alongside Kakashi and Naruto, confronting tailed beasts head-on, but he also kicked off half of Madara's body with one kick.

At that time, Madara had already become the Ten-Tails Jinchuriki. Raising a hand or moving a foot was enough to create or destroy worlds. Obito had also entered the Six Paths state and understood very well that those below Six Paths were all ants. Even the former God of Shinobi, Hashirama Senju, was just a slightly bigger ant in his view.

But Guy managed to challenge a god with a mortal body. Even though the cost was a bit high, the damage he inflicted on Madara was real.

It was said that Guy's move was originally prepared for Kakashi. One really wonders what Kakashi's mood was like at that time...

Speaking of which, Naruto was also a dead last. Minato-sensei's teacher, one of Konoha's Sannin, Jiraiya, was also a dead last when he was young. So, are dead lasts actually the strongest?

Thinking of this, Obito couldn't help but want to laugh.

"Obito, did you think of something happy? Your mouth can't help but curl up?"

Rin turned her head and asked, somewhat curious.

Obito suddenly felt like teasing Rin, so he asked quietly, "Rin, who do you think in our class will be the most successful in the future? Of course, excluding Kakashi."

Rin said with a smile, "Of course it's you, Obito. You are the future Hokage."

Obito's heart sank slightly. Hokage? Impossible. Not in this lifetime.

"Rin, just tell me your true thoughts. I don't need comfort right now."

Rin got a little angry, huffing, "I'm not comforting you! I truly believe you can achieve anything in the future, Obito!"

Obito's heart felt warm.

So, from childhood, Rin had believed in him so much. He was almost confused. Was his childhood dream to become Hokage, or to gain everyone's recognition, especially Rin's?

He continued to ask, "Then, besides me?"

Rin was momentarily torn, glanced at the other classmates, thought for a while, and said, "Perhaps Guy. After all, he is Kakashi's lifelong rival."

Well, that's no fun.

Obito didn't expect Rin to guess so accurately.

Seeing this, Rin was very pleased with herself.

"Obito, is that really what you think?"

Obito nodded. This didn't even require thought. It was a fact...

Just as the two were chatting, the door of the school building suddenly opened.

Everyone who was whispering immediately looked towards the door.

For a moment, silence fell.

Actually, this exam was more of a formality. After all, not everyone was qualified to submit a graduation application.

Most of the present classmates understood this point. But when it really came to the moment of revealing the result, they couldn't help but feel nervous.

Only Obito felt completely calm inside.

Today, the Third Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen, was the chief examiner. With his indecisive personality, would he have come if he wasn't absolutely sure?
