Chapter 74 - Ch.74

"He's dead? Who did it? Sirzechs or Serafall?" Azazel's face fell. How could he have been so wrong? Did the Underworld prepare for this in advance?

"Neither. It was someone who has never appeared before," Vali said, shaking his head. "He's also the Red Dragon Emperor of this era."

Azazel's expression changed. "I see. So he's a Longinus wielder like you." He paused. "The destined rivalry of the White Dragon and the Red Dragon. But you just came back? I thought you would fight him."

"I didn't have time. When I got there, the Demon King Leviathan showed up too." Vali and the White Dragon Emperor within him were ecstatic when they sensed the aura of the Red Dragon Emperor. They were about to meet him, but the Demon King Leviathan appeared with her army. Vali was confident, but not arrogant enough to think he could face a Demon King without any consequences.

"Sigh," Azazel let out a long sigh. "Let's head back."

"You're just going to let it go?" Vali asked.

"What else can I do? Kokabiel was acting on his own this time. I thought I was fast, but I was still one step too late." Azazel shook his head. He had sent Vali for two reasons: one was to stop Kokabiel and prevent a war, and the other was to protect him. If he were caught by people from the Underworld or Heaven, either faction could sentence him to death. Not many of his old comrades who had descended to Earth to have fun had survived the Great War.

"I've already contacted Lucifer of the Underworld. We will hold a three-way summit soon."

"I'm going to go train," Vali said, shaking his head. He wasn't interested in this matter. The destined rivalry of the White Dragon and the Red Dragon meant he would have to fight the other party sooner or later. He needed to continue sharpening his skills before that day came.

Due to the Kokabiel incident, the underworld was thrown into a brief state of turmoil. Aside from the three factions, another organization was also exposed: the ghouls. After searching the memories of some ghouls, the devils quickly found a big fish. The current CCG chairman, Tsuneyoshi Washu, and the leader of the human organization were also ghouls? Not just him, but the entire Washu family.

This conclusion shocked many people. But once the investigation was complete, the subsequent cleanup was swift. It had taken a full four seasons of an anime to deal with the Washu family, but here, it just took one High-Class Devil and an enforcement team to carry out a purge. The Washu family's symbolic resistance resulted in their complete annihilation. At the same time, information provided by Sona Sitri led to the discovery of the group known as the "Masked."

Of course, none of these things had anything to do with Luo Guang for now.

He was currently tallying his gains. His encounter with the Fallen Angel executive had deepened his understanding of holy light, helped him gauge his current strength, and also earned him Serafall's ice magic grimoire and the opportunity to make a single demand of her. As magic used by a Demon King, its benefits were substantial. Luo Guang hadn't yet decided what to ask of her.

He also had Kokabiel's soul. Because of the Banner of a Myriad Souls, Luo Guang had completely ruined his chance at reincarnation. But most importantly, the energy of his Trans-Dimensional Portal had finally reached 100%. This was the original reason for his fight with Kokabiel. Even a weak executive was still an executive. The power of throwing a Light Spear from 400 miles away was real. After taking him out, the portal's energy, which was at 50%, was instantly filled. This meant Luo Guang could set off again for the Campione! world to do what he had always wanted to—kill a god.

The first time he crossed over, he didn't have the opportunity or the strength to kill a god. While the process of god-slaying seemed easy for characters like Madame Aisha and the original protagonist, Godou Kusanagi, it was all "predestined." They were Campiones because they were Campiones, not the other way around. It was the so-called "protagonist's halo." Anyone, even famous Campiones like Luo Hao and Voban, were the same. In the beginning, they were able to kill a god effortlessly only because of a combination of countless coincidences and serendipitous events. For others, it was a coincidence, but for them, it was inevitable.

If this were a fantasy world, the native Campiones would all be "Children of Destiny," holding a script for a grassroots hero rising against the heavens. Luo Guang, a transmigrator, had no such fate. Even with Est as his starter gift, he had the chance to fight an Unconquered God. But he only had one life. He couldn't bet his future on a single battle. Normally, he avoided such hot-blooded risks. So, he chose to play it safe for now and take what he could get. With the Trans-Dimensional Portal, he wasn't afraid of any Unconquered God escaping.

Now, with the portal at 100% and the strength to face an Unconquered God head-on, it was time to usurp a god's power. Besides, things here had settled down for the time being. Luo Guang planned to go to the Campione! world soon. You could never have too many authorities.

After taking stock of his gains, Luo Guang looked at Asia, who was doing chores in the living room. Even though the entire house had an automatic cleaning spell, so there was no need to sweep or mop, Asia felt the need to find something to do. Because of the "gas explosion" incident in the news, all classes had been suspended for a week so the government could check for gas leaks and other flammable facilities.

Noticing Luo Guang's gaze, Asia gave a shy, embarrassed smile. The innocent girl still didn't know about the God of the Bible's death, and Luo Guang had no intention of telling her. But he was definitely going to be gone for a while. He couldn't just leave her alone. Luo Guang thought for a moment and then called Koneko.
