Chapter 65 - Ch.65

Sona Sitri and Tsubaki Shinra fled through the night. After an intense several minutes, they had entered Kuoh City. With her intellect, Sona quickly deduced that Kokabiel was doing this on purpose, though she couldn't guess his true intentions.

"President, what should we do?" Tsubaki Shinra asked. She had used her Sacred Gear, the Mirror of Recollection, to create duplicates to block the pursuers, but it only bought them a little time.

"Find a way to contact Rias and have her get in touch with the Underworld as soon as possible. If a Demon King can intervene, Kokabiel's plot can be thwarted," Sona forced herself to remain calm and quickly analyzed the situation. However, in the surprise attack, all of her communication methods were gone. She thought of contacting Luo Guang, but like Rias, she didn't want to drag him into this dangerous situation. Kokabiel was an extremely powerful enemy. Even though Luo Guang possessed a Longinus and could use its Balance Breaker, she was pessimistic about the outcome of a fight between them. If that was the case, there was no need to pull him into a losing battle.

Kokabiel watched it all from the sky. Sona and her peerage believed they were hiding well, but they were completely exposed in his eyes.

"Come on, the game has begun." He grinned, ordering his rogue priests and Ghouls to begin widespread destruction in Kuoh City. The pursuers and the subordinates who had already blended into the crowd immediately dropped their disguises and began a bloody massacre. The Ghouls released their kagune, easily tearing or piercing the bodies of ordinary people. The taste of blood sent their adrenaline soaring, and their eyes turned blood red as they ravenously devoured the flesh.

The rogue priests, meanwhile, used Holy Swords and firearms to attack everyone indiscriminately. Kuoh City was not big, but there were still many people out at night. When they saw monsters suddenly appear and start killing, they let out terrified screams and fled.

"A Ghoul!"

"Terrorists! Wh-why are they here killing people?"

"Run! Run!"

Men, women, and children alike fled the scene in terror, afraid of becoming one of the fallen. The area instantly became a battlefield, and everyone's face was filled with horror.

Helpless, Sona Sitri and Tsubaki Shinra had no choice but to stop running and join the fight. At the same time, Xenovia and Irina, who were investigating in Kuoh City, also noticed the commotion. As warriors of the Church, they were not only loyal to God but also responsible for protecting ordinary people, making the Ghouls and rogue priests their enemies as well.

"People from the Church?" Sona was baffled, only feeling that the situation was getting more and more chaotic.

Just as Kokabiel entered Kuoh City, Luo Guang felt a shift and stopped his first attempt at a Juggernaut Drive. He looked at Asia and Est and said, "The two of you stay at home. Est, protect Asia and the house."

"Okay," Est nodded. She knew Luo Guang had something important to do. Besides, no matter where she was, as long as Luo Guang willed it, she could instantly appear by his side and become his Demon-Slaying Holy Sword to cut down his enemies.

Luo Guang left the villa and sped off on his motorcycle. The night wind, pulled by his speed, blew coldly against his face. His mastery of senjutsu allowed him to guess what was happening just from the unrestrained life aura in the sky over Kuoh City. At this critical moment, only Kokabiel would choose to appear and cause trouble. However, his actions were completely different from the original story.

He was smart. At least smarter than the one in the original story who only caused a minor disturbance at Kuoh Academy and was taken down before a single ordinary citizen knew what happened. Kokabiel's goal was to start a war, so the more chaos he could create, the better. If it were him, after confirming the location of his targets, he would go all out and vaporize the targets along with the entire city. The war would then roll on like a carriage wheel.

Kokabiel had become smart, but he wasn't smart enough. By the time Luo Guang arrived on the scene, the city center was already on fire. Most of the ordinary citizens had fled, but the police, fire department, and ambulances had surrounded the area, blocking the roads. Without any prior warning, the human government departments had naturally received the message and arrived on the scene immediately.

And they witnessed a jaw-dropping scene. People who looked like ordinary humans, just like in a fantasy movie, were fighting on the ground, on walls, and in the air. They were fighting bare-handed or with various weapons, releasing multi-colored lights. However, all of it was easily blocked by the six-winged figure in the sky. Kokabiel sat on his throne without moving, using only his fingers and wings to block the attacks from Rias, Sona, and the others, looking down on them like they were ants. As for the two Holy Sword wielders, they had already been defeated in the previous fighting and were currently seriously wounded and unable to get back up.

"What a mess," Luo Guang said after parking his motorcycle and slowly walking forward. The dense crowd, upon his appearance, seemed to be pushed by some force, automatically parting to either side.
