Chapter 7 - Ch.7

In the afternoon, Luo Guang went to the school cafeteria for lunch, as usual.

"Disgusting."

This was the only evaluation Luo Guang could give for the cafeteria food.

In reality, while the food was not exactly a culinary masterpiece, it was at least palatable for most students. But for Luo Guang, whose taste buds had long been spoiled by his own cooking, the food was barely edible.

As for bringing his own homemade food and just heating it up, Luo Guang did not have that habit.

Est was usually sleeping during the day, so there was no need to summon her.

As Luo Guang was eating, two girls, one after the other, walked into the cafeteria.

After getting their food, they looked around and then walked toward Luo Guang's table.

As they walked past, the few boys around tensed up, and some girls looked on with expressions of admiration.

One of them had smooth, golden hair like silk, like a natural spirit, and paired with her emerald-green eyes, her flawless white face created a perfect picture. She had a well-proportioned and petite figure, and her legs, wrapped in black stockings, were slender and straight.

The other girl had the opposite hair color—silver-white hair like moonlight. Her amber eyes were piercing, but her expressionless face reduced her impression on others. Her delicate skin was also fair, and her figure was even more petite than the golden-haired girl, Eriri, giving her the impression of a doll.

Two different scents wafted toward him.

One on his left, one on his right, they bracketed Luo Guang.

It was worth noting that even though Luo Guang was very popular, there were no other girls sitting at his table.

Even some of the more outgoing "gyaru" girls from Shibuya didn't dare to approach him because of his aura.

Of course, if anyone did, they would have to endure the murderous stares of the other girls.

But when they saw the two girls, whispers started.

Everyone knew that Eriri had been Luo Guang's classmate since middle school and that Koneko had also had contact with him when she first entered the school.

During a physical education class, the athletically gifted Koneko was defeated by Luo Guang in every event. After that, the two's relationship unknowingly grew a little closer.

"?!"

The two girls only noticed each other's presence when they were about to reach the table.

Eriri stood still, looking at Koneko with surprise, annoyed. "Why now of all times?" she thought.

Koneko gave Eriri a faint glance, seemingly unaffected, and walked to Luo Guang's table, setting her tray down and sitting across from him.

Eriri felt as if she had been hit by lightning. She bared her little fangs in a subtle act of intimidation, then casually walked to the empty seat next to him and sat down.

This whole scene made Luo Guang smile inwardly. He knew without a doubt that Eriri was feeling incredibly frustrated.

He then shifted his gaze to the girl in front of him.

"Koneko, are you here to return the game cartridge I lent you last time?" Luo Guang asked with a small smile.

"Yes." Koneko nodded slightly and handed him a game disc.

The game was "Cyberpunk 2077."

It was because of this game that Koneko had been staying up all night, which was why she hadn't reviewed for the pop quiz and performed poorly on it today.

Thinking about this, Koneko ate a few bites of her rice in frustration.

A few seconds of silence followed.

Luo Guang didn't press her for information. He just waited patiently.

"After school, the President would like to invite you to the Occult Research Club."

"Rias Gremory, huh."

Luo Guang looked at the beautiful girl in front of him.

Koneko's superior was a pure-blooded devil noble from the Underworld. Rias Gremory was the next head of the Gremory family and the younger sister of the current Devil King, Lucifer. She was in charge of all matters in Kuoh City.

Shortly after he entered high school, he received an invitation from Rias, but he refused.

Since then, she had never brought it up again.

But Luo Guang knew very well that the stubborn young lady would not give up so easily.

However, him becoming her servant was out of the question. Even though Rias was a kind person, Luo Guang disliked the feeling of being tied down to anyone.

"Will you accept?" Koneko asked.

She was just a messenger and wouldn't use any tactics to force Luo Guang to agree. This was something Rias had specifically told her.

"I can." Luo Guang nodded.

He thought about it for a moment. He and Rias did not have much interaction, so her invitation must be for a specific reason.

It suited him just fine, as he also had something he needed to talk to Rias about.

Seeing Luo Guang agree, Koneko nodded slightly, then started eating her meal meticulously and quietly, just like a real cat.

This made Eriri, who was watching from the side, anxious.
