After a moment of silence, Jing Yuan spoke softly, his voice low and even, like a breeze sweeping across a lake:
"Today… what is that young man doing here?"
Shen Yanxue bowed her head, her voice respectful as she replied,
"Young Master, the man named Jiang Yu Chen… came today intending to take Young Master Gu out for a stroll."
Jing Yuan slightly raised his eyebrows, his hand gripping the cup on the table, his voice cold:
"Anything else?"
Shen Yanxue hesitated, then continued softly,
"There is more, but… for some reason, after hearing Jiang Yu Chen say something, Young Master Gu looked a little panicked. He said he was tired and wanted to go upstairs to rest, but then Jiang Yu Chen carried him up to his room…"
She paused briefly, glancing furtively at Jing Yuan, then added,
"After they went inside, the door closed… I don't know what happened inside."
Jing Yuan's eyes darkened. His fingers gently traced the cup, the veins on the back of his hand standing out, the liquid inside trembling slightly, reflecting the light onto half of his face, cold as ice. He calmly uttered:
"So..."
A thought flashed through his mind, yet remained unformed: "In the room... together..."
He lifted his eyes, his voice even and expressionless:
"Alright, you may leave."
"Yes, young master."
Shen Yanxue bowed deeply and left, though she still wished she could stay a little longer.
The door closed, and the room fell silent. Only the steady ticking of the clock and Jing Yuan's deep, abyss-like gaze remained. No one knew what he was thinking, only that his eyes were gradually tinged with an indescribable darkness.
Meanwhile, on Gu Yunxiang's side:
Back in my room, I was still fuming about what had just happened with Jing Yuan. Just as I threw myself onto the bed, my phone chimed.
I opened it, and it was a message from Wu Shen. The message was short but left me both confused and bewildered:
"Don't let anyone touch the back of your neck…"
I frowned, slightly confused, and replied:
"Why not? Is there a problem?"
Wu Shen answered almost immediately:
"That's a sensitive part of an Omega."
I was a little stunned, understanding somewhat, but still asked:
"So… what if someone else touches it?"
There was a long silence on the other end. When the message appeared, my heart suddenly skipped a few breaths:
"If you want, you can try. But I can't guarantee you'll be safe then."
Hearing that, I became pensive and a little tense…
Wu Shen continued:
"But don't worry too much. If it's a smart person, they won't do that."
I typed a few hesitant words:
"Why?"
"He doesn't want to die so soon."
The last sentence sent a shiver down my spine. But Wu Shen's voice remained gentle:
"So you're very safe now. No need to worry."
I replied:
"Oh… thank you."
Then I sent a heart-shaped cat emoji.
Wu Shen paused for a few seconds, then messaged back:
"You're welcome. Just what I should do."
He thought to himself, a slight smile playing on his lips: "She's kind of cute…"
Before I could even breathe, there was another knock:
"Knock, knock, knock."
The sound was slow and steady, but it carried a chilling feeling that made my heart race. A deep, slightly cold voice came from outside:
"Young master, are you in your room?"
I immediately recognized Jing Yuan's voice. I instinctively reached for the door, but my hand froze just as it touched the doorknob. Part of me… didn't want to see him.
I withdrew my hand, stepped back a few paces, crossed my arms, and thought to myself,
"Let's see what you can do to me."
Jing Yuan's voice was even, with a hint of impatience:
"Young master, I know you're inside. If you don't open the door… I'll have to come in myself."
It was slightly threatening, but not overtly so, making me unconsciously a little scared. Although I was the young master, in that moment… it felt like Jing Yuan was the one.
Finally, I opened the door. Jing Yuan's tall figure was already standing there. A cold wind seeped through the crack in the door, tossing a few strands of my hair. I spoke timidly but firmly to Jing Yuan:
"You… don't talk like that…"
Before I could finish, Jing Yuan gently pushed, and the door swung wide. I staggered, almost falling, but he quickly grabbed me, pulling me closer.
His arms tightened around me, strong and firm, his hot breath fanning my ear. I looked up, his eyes were deep, both warm and cold, and within them… was something unreadable, like the shifting darkness of night.
He tilted his head slightly, looking directly into my reflection in the mirror, and softly said:
"Young master… saying that will make me… sad."
His voice brushed against my ear like a cold blade. I stood still, unsure whether to push him away or respond. My cheeks flushed, a mixture of fear and… strangeness.
In the darkness, Jing Yuan's eyes reflected the light, bottomless. I felt myself being drawn into a cold, overwhelming aura, unable to escape.
