After finishing eating, I was about to stand up and return to my room when the phone in my pocket suddenly vibrated. I took it out to see if it was Jiang Yu Shen calling.
My heart stopped for a moment, but I didn't hesitate to answer the call even though I was a little curious:
"Yu Shen, you called me… is there something?"
The other end was silent for a few beats, only the sound of soft breathing could be heard. I was momentarily stunned, and was about to ask again when his voice rang out, low and familiar:
"Ah… nothing. I just wanted to ask if… you're free this afternoon."
I was a little stunned, then smiled lightly and replied:
"This afternoon? I'm free. What do you mean by that?"
While speaking, I also sat down on the chair, unconsciously swinging my legs. But Yu Shen on the other side hadn't finished his sentence yet:
"If you're free, can we go together-" before I could finish my sentence, the phone in my hand was suddenly snatched away.
I raised my head, and before I could react, I saw Kinh Uyen standing in front of me. His face was a little dark, his eyes were so cold that it made me shiver.
I was a little confused, not knowing what I had teased him about, but I still spoke, though my voice was a little shaky. As I spoke, I stood up and raised my hand to snatch the phone back:
"Kinh Uyen, you...you quickly give me back my phone!"
But he raised his hand high, his tall figure making it impossible for me to reach out. It wasn't because I was short... it was because he was too tall!
I frowned, intending to continue speaking, when from the other end of the line, Vu Than's voice rang out, somewhat worried:
"Van Tuong, is there something wrong with you..?"
I was just about to reply when Kinh Uyen calmly hung up.
I was stunned for a few seconds, then immediately glared:
"Kinh Uyen! How dare you turn off the phone? Give me back my phone!"
Kinh Uyen slightly frowned, his eyes darkened. A feeling of discomfort arose in his heart. The little kid standing in front of him was in a hurry for someone else. He said coldly:
"Young master, are you saying that to me because of an outsider? Don't you remember who helped you out?"
I paused, hesitated for a few seconds, and whispered:
"But… but Vu Than, he's not an outsider…"
Hearing this, Kinh Uyen's face darkened even more. He stared at me, his voice lowered, and he asked softly:
"Then in the young master's eyes, what am I? Am I just… a servant?"
That question made me stiffen. If I'm not a servant… then what am I? Am I… my lover? That thought just flashed through my mind, and I was startled because I had blurted it out.
"Ah no! That's not it! I was just talking nonsense just now, don't… don't pay attention!"
Kinh Uyen was silent for a moment, then tilted his head slightly, his voice had a hint of laughter, but his eyes were deep as if he wanted to see through me:
"So… in the young master's heart, am I really just a servant like everyone else?"
I flusteredly waved my hand, stammering:
"No, that's not it…!"
He raised his eyebrows slightly, stepped closer, bowed his head and spoke close to my ear:
"So what am I to the young master?"
That question was like a gust of wind blowing past my neck, making me almost lose my balance.
"Ah… then… then we are friends…"
"Friends?" Kinh Uyen's voice was low, sounding a bit dissatisfied.
"Ah no! Not friends! Are… are my people…?" I quickly corrected myself, and as soon as I finished speaking, I raised my head to see if he was satisfied yet.
King Uyen smiled slightly when he heard that, and didn't say another word, but his eyes flashed with satisfaction:"Your people…? "
A trace of joy rose in his heart that was hard to hide.
I was still bewildered, secretly looking up to see if he was still angry. But before I could react, his hand grabbed my wrist and pulled me away.
"Then I'll take the young master out today."
I was surprised, and struggled lightly:
"Ah no, that won't do! I... I'm busy today!"
He stopped, glanced at me, his voice slightly sarcastic:
"Young master, you told that guy that you were free. But you're busy with me?"
I froze, turned my face away in guilt, and mumbled, "That... I..."
In my heart, I whispered, "Isn't it because you keep teasing me, and even say some strange things...!"
But on the surface, I didn't dare argue anymore, just let him drag me away. Sometimes, I didn't know who was the real young master in this house anymore.
Getting in the car, I secretly glanced at the person driving next to me. Kinh Uyen was silent, his expression so serious that I was afraid to open my mouth. Finally, I cleared my throat, scratched my face slightly:
"Ah... well... can you give me back my phone?"
As soon as the sentence ended, a gentle wind blew through the car window. I don't know if it was a coincidence, but Kinh Uyen's face suddenly darkened. Seeing that, I swallowed my saliva, immediately fell silent, and sat upright like a student caught red-handed by the teacher copying.
The atmosphere in the car fell into silence. I sneaked a glance over, thinking to myself: "Are you angry...?"
Thinking for a moment, I gently pulledhis shirt, voice as small as a mosquito:
"You… are you angry with me?"
