3 Days till the end

[ the curse of being alive ]
days after the incident happened. the whole news is going crazy and all citizens want answers. what was that monster who wrecked havoc in the city and killed many people. the military service guided by the general officer kerton gave no information till this moment. they say that they still conducting a whole case file about the unknown creature and informations will soon be revealed to the public.
the general finishes his busy day and finally gets to rest in his private room. ready for the dinner to be served to his room the waiter comes in with a table filled with many delicious meals
waiter: here is your dinner sir
kerton: what the hell is with that meat. you expect me to slice it all by myself? do your job and cut it properly.
waiter: my apologies sir I'll do it right away.
he gets close to the general and slices the meat to small pieces making it more simple to eat.
kerton: couldn't you do it before you brought the food you idiot. i hate idiots who can't do their jobs the most.
waiter: please try the meat sir. so i can know if it's cooked well or not?
as the general is taking the first bite and swallowing the food. the waiter stab him quickly in the neck with the knife he used to slice the meat. and before the general could scream for any help. he stabs him again this time ending him for good.
"man he sure talks a lot. but in order to move more freely i have to possess this punk body. he was supposed to be able to see axel tomorrow. good thing i was on time. now the usual routine. man i hate this part the most".
by possessing one of the waiters bodies. veto successfuly snuck into the private room of the gead quarter and general of the military service and successfuly killed him. now the mission is to take his body to further his plans.
veto turns his hand into long sharp claws and rips out the general heart from his body and then he throws it on the ground. and then he rips his own heart and places it in the general empty hole. the new heart starts to form the flesh and organs again around the body. till it's finally healed.
now he successfully possessed the general body. his plans should be easier.
veto: man how old is this guy. i can't move well with this heavy lame body. but i can't help it. now what about this other dude corpse.
despite having nearly some similar aspects of power to axel's regeneration power however veto crystal blood can't designate bodies. that what made it a little harder to make hide or make a corpse disappear. so he had to do it the old way.
by using his sharp clawed hands. he slices the body till it turns to tiny bits. he gathers all the bits and throws it in a big suitcase along side with the heart that he also sliced to make it smaller to fit in the case. and he throws the case in the nearby river.
in normal circumstances if someone is missing suddenly then it won't take long till some of their relatives or related individuals to report it to the authorities. however veto always is careful with the people who he takes their bodies. usually they have to have little to no contact with anyone that could offer help or that might ask about them in the future. it was the same when he took over connor body. his senile grandmother could never tell the difference because she wasn't in her best mental state in the first place. that's why he could transfer between bodies without any problems.
after successfully disposing of the body he returns back to his room to eat the dinner that was prepared already.
veto: this delicious food can't go to waste after all.
he eats and waits for this night to end. eager for his upcoming meeting. his first steady plans to build a new world are slowly but surely moving in the right path.
the next day finally comes. the newly general body possessed by veto enters the highly guarded facility where they are still keeping axel looked down. in a full security and always observed small room.
the room pure whiteness and it's utter silence that echos through its walls sends a feeling of emptiness inside. the only thing that connects axel with the outside world is a small glassy window in front of his so he can talk with visitors while being locked and tied to his chair all the time.
veto walks inside and takes a seat and sits right in front of the glass window. facing axel once again. but now the situation of both of them has changed drastically.
veto: this place looks nice. are you used to it now?
but there's no response from axel. both his mind and soul are destroyed to the point of no return. he can't even bring himself to talk. his whole life feels meaningless.
veto: you know what. that boy that i was in his body. connor. i think that he was a good kid. back then at that cliff when i talked. it felt like i had lived and experienced what he lived. although i didn't take his body till you got transferred to this world. but despite that his memoirs and emotions somehow grew on me.
he was without parents nor any friends. goes to school and then comes back home. stays in his room or helps his grandma. he used to love writing poems. he felt like it's an embarrassing thing and that people would laugh at him if they knew. that's why his room was his comfort zone that protected him for the outside world.
so why do you think i chose him in the first place?. because no one would notice. he was a loner after all yet i don't see my act as a vile crime. i truly believe that he died for a greater cause. that his sacrifice will lead to a better future. i always felt this with every sacrifice and everyone that had to lose thier lives in the process.
i never hated them. in fact i never hated you nor your friends once. all i can feel towards them was and will always be gratitude. because if it wasn't for their efforts we wouldn't have gone this far. i promise that i will build a peaceful world for them.
axel: why me?
veto: why you? well in the beginning let's clear one thing out. you're not special nor have i planned from the beginning to choose you. it was just random. i wanted sometimes to be the tool for my plans. and you fitted the needs. because you were desperate you see desperate people are easy to manipulate. the first moment they see a glimpse of hope they will take its grasp.
when we talked for the first time you simply believed everything i said easily. you didn't even question who am i or what would i gain from helping you. why would an unknown creature appear in front of your eyes right before you die to help you?.
you were chosen to decide the earth's fate?. and whether it should be destroyed or not. how could you believe this nonsense?. why would i put the earth fate in the hand of a loser guy who couldn't even manage to live his life properly. what if you chose to destroy it. do you think that it's unfair to kill all these innocent people just for your vengeance against this world. because you couldn't fit in and change your fate?
axel: so it was all a lie
veto: it's a lie that will save this world. the fate of earth was never in your hands in the first place. the truth is that even in your previous life where you died. after one day of your death the earth was invaded by my people.
and a war has begun between the two forces. how many days do you think humans lasted? it was a mere three days before they surrendered. they didn't have the advanced technology nor the good preparation to understand who they were dealing with and how they can beat them. after they lost humans were technically turned into slaves in their own planet.
it wasn't official but they were now the lower species on the planet. people who rejected the new system simply got killed and those who bowed down simply gave their life and freedom to those who are stronger than them. the few humans who lived couldn't bring back the age of the humankind rebellion.
humans were treated in the worst most brutal way possible till this world became nothing like earth anymore
at last my people built a new thriving earth on the shoulders of reduced humans. it was the end of the humankind.
axel: what about the future you told me about?
veto: oh that one. it was a lie but i believe that you have faced a similar fate like the one i predicted.
axel: why do you want to change the earth's fate? shouldn't you be happy that your nation won?
veto: it's a long story but you see i believe in peace. i always hated this brutal and hideous way of treating others on my planet. the strong thrive and the weak gets treated like shit. justice was in the hands of who had power. not who was right. i watched many planets and innocent people getting killed just because they didn't want to live and abide by these rules. the same happened to earth and i just had this feeling to end all of this. i hated my people and i hated how humans are similar to my people.
i thought that i would find and understand humans better but i couldn't. while this world has many beautiful things yet it was also cruel. gross and filled with suffering. i was once again disappointed by what i saw. but what's the point of all those feelings if i didn't change the fate with my own hands.
axel: you believe in peace? don't make me laugh.
veto: you have the right to not believe me but that's the truth. if achieving peace and happiness for this world requires me to make some sacrifices then i would gladly do it.if i have to make a single person life to a living hell for my greater plan than i will do it no matter what . every life that has been lost till now are soldiers in my opinion. they are heroes. and you're the biggest hero of them all. you should be proud.
axel: go to hell. do whatever you want. i don't care anymore just kill me.
veto: unfortunately i can't kill you now. you still have many things to do. you see i count on you to save this planet. my plan will ultimately fail if you're not here. that's why I'll let you sleep and rest for a good two years. and then after it I'll release you free again. because the war will be near.
i wish i can tell you more details but that's the end of our meeting. good night axel. see you after two years. let's build a new world together.
as the conversation ends between the two. axel is transferred to a high security guarded room where he will be a test subject for many experiments in order to try and understand his body and his power in order to make newly formed weapons from his body fragments. he's no longer considered human nor does he have human rights anymore. he's just a tool for the government.
as veto is walking out of the facility. he sees investigator harper waiting for him for some reason.
harper: nice to meet you today sir.
veto: oh hello miss have we met before?
harper: I'm the investigator that conducted the plan of axel arrest. sorry for my rudeness but i thought you still remember me.
( veto in his mind ).
" oh it's this annoying brat. man i hated her from the beginning. her and the old man she was working with caused me a lot of problems back then. but despite all that she's a sharp minded girl. maybe i can use her for my plans. "
veto: oh i remember you now. thank you for your great efforts for this country. you helped in saving many lives from this monster.
harper: that's an honor to me sir. i just came here to ask for you to give me some of your time to talk and discuss the situation of the boy... i mean axel. that's of course if you are not busy.
veto: sure why not. how about we go somewhere relaxing. i can't stand the smell of these places after all. how about the nearest park.
They both walk alongside the green park. it's filled with families enjoying their time and kids playing around the field.
veto: what a nice view. it's these signs that remind me of what we as soldiers are fighting for. all these people deserve a peaceful world to live in. it's our duty to give them that don't you think?
harper: yes sir i agree with you.
veto: i heard that your parents sadly lost their lives because that monster. i feel terribly sorry for your loss
harper: no need to apologize sir. what happened is inevitable now. i have to make sure it won't happen to other kids. that's my job.
veto: you're a really hard working lady. i respect that. let's take a seat here and talk a little.
they both sit on a bench facing the wide park and its green fields.
veto: miss harper. what do you think that this creature is?.
harper: i really can't tell much sir. i was shocked when i knew that a 17 year old boy can turn like this monster suddenly. it was all in front of me all this time yet i couldn't see anything.
veto: there're really many things that exceed the human comprehension. say miss if i told you that the earth we know now will be destroyed utterly after two years. will you believe me؟
harper: i would surely find difficulty in that. but i would like to listen even if i had doubts about it.
veto: the truth is I've been investigating this case for a long time. I've been searching for the infamous chx for some time and now after finally finding him. it turns out that he's only a small thread to some bigger problems.
harper: what do you mean by that?.
veto: you see i talked to that boy named axel and he told me everything. apparently he was sent by some far away planet to observe the earth and to recive and sned messages to his home planet about the state of earth. all that in order to conquer earth after two years from now. would you call me crazy after hearing all that?.
harper: well that's a lot of information to take in one time sir. but I'm listening right now without any judgment.
veto: thanks. the planet where he came from or basically his people are strong weird creatures. they all are tall with skinny figures and sharp claws as hands and thier body is made from what's almost looks like crystal. he said that if the earth is not well prepared we will be wiped out in the matter of days.
harper: that's almost unbelievable sorry. it's just so much to unpack. like a science fiction movie.
veto: yeah i get you. but what would happen if we ignore his warning and took it as a joke. we don't want to bite our fingers of regret when we see our planet getting destroyed while we can't do anything about it. think about all the innocent people who will meet their end brutally.
harper: i can't even imagine allowing something like this to happen. but sir why are you telling me all this. these are top secret information and I'm just an investigator.
veto: it's because i trust you and i believe you can be a great help for this coutry. in fact for this world. when you stopped him that day i was amazed. we were all struggling while the solution was in front of us. i need someone like you who can come up with the most helping ideas at the most crucial times. that's why i can't trust all these information to anyone but you. i want you to be my right hand. even if it's in secret.
harper: that's a huge responsibility sir and i may not be well for it. I'm not that..
veto: think about it. i won't rush you. just remember that i have good faith in you. your mission will be only to observe and study the body of axel so we can use his power to improve and devlop humanity weapons aresnal. in order to fight the unknown we have to have something out of the ordinary don't you think.
harper: you might be right sir. I'll see what i can do.
veto: thank you. he is being held now in the most secret and guarded lab in the experiments facility. you can see him but he's out of consciousness and he is being watched 24/7. although we're trying disparately to dismember his body but he keeps regenerating again and again. so we're trying to study the limbs that has been torn.
harper: that sounds painful.
veto: it's painful and almost non human but that's the price we have to pay in order to save this world. remember how many innocents have been killed because of him. how many soldiers. if he wasn't a monster that this government needs. he would have been judged by law in the most brutal way ever. so you can think again before sympathizing with him.
harper: I'll try my best to help sir. after all i don't want to see such a miserable future for this world.
as they are both talking. two young people approach them. waving at harper.
lara: miss harper what are you doing here. and who is this guy with you?
harper: oh lara what a coincidence. that's general
kerton. we were having a simple conversation.
ray makes lara kneel her head to show respect to the general.
ray: i told you he's important you idiot. but you didn't listen and came rushing down here.
lara: get your hand of my head you stupid punk. i didn't know ok. don't act like i did something big.
veto: oh who are those two?
harper: they are both my new assistances. they are still training to be an offical investigators but now they are in my care.
veto: oh nice to meet you both. hope you grow to be a respectful representative of this country.
lara and ray: yes sir.
veto: then I'll be going off now. i have more work on my schedule today. see you later miss harper. hope we can get to a goor agreement. you can call me when you make your final answer.
harper: yes sir I'll make sure to give you my opinion. see you later and thanks for your hard work.
veto walks away and leaves tge three in the park.
lara: is that the general. he gives a scary vibe.
ray: shut up you idiot. he's the one who protects this country. you should be grateful to him.
lara: knock it off i didn't say anything bad about him. it's just that i felt uneasy around him.
harper: i get how you feel. i aslo feel a little bit pressure around him. but he's a good person. i hope so.
ray: you hope?
harper: it's nothing now let's go back to the office .
as they are walking they stop by to get some ice cream for the nearest store. a little girl rushs into harper.
lisa: hey i know you.
harper: oh hello there kiddo. how do you know me?
lisa: you're the one who took axel down. give him back. he works here and dad can't find a new worker.
harper: oh I'm very sorry young miss but there is nothing i can do. axel is now on a holiday
lisa: holiday? when he will come back. he promised to play with me.
harper: it will take some time but I'm sure he will return soon and he will gladly play with you.
lisa: but dad said he's a bad guy.
harper: well what do you think of him?
lisa: he's annoying and thinks I'm a kid. and doesn't give me his phone for a long time to play my games. but he's funny. is he really a bad guy?
harper: he's not don't worry. you will see him soon.
harper walks back to the office and heads to visit the facility where they keep axel.
lara: can we accompany you?
harper: unfortunately this facility is top secret and i can't allow someone to enter without authorization. so both of you head back to the office and finish the rest of today's work.
ray: i told you to not ask these silly questions
lara: it's none of your business you bridbrain
harper: now now both of you stop fighting. you know i rely on you both the same way. thanks for the hard work.
lara and ray: yes miss.
she gets into the room to see axel's body being chopped off again and again. his regeneration power is at it's ultimate level. but he's unconscious due to being drugged every 5 minutes.
harper what will you do with him doctor?.
doctor: we're trying to understand his body but it's the most complicated and unbelievable thing I've ever seen. his heart is no longer a human one. more like a more improved heart. we're going to study his heart more from now on and try to get to know when he can form his body into Crystal and how can we use this crystal to our advantage.
harper: will you be able to make weapons of it?
doctor: that's what we aim for but we need more time. a discovery like this needs patience.
harper: hang in there kiddo. I'm sorry i can't free you right now but maybe one day. i don't even know if what I'm doing is the right thing. tell me old man. what would you have done if you were in my place
doctor: old man? but I'm 28
harper: shut up. I'm not talking to you
in the depths of axel's mind while he is unconscious. he wakes up in his inner world it's similar to the world he once was in with veto the first time they met . he's standing right in tge center of a large world that has no ends to see or grasp. the small streams of water are flowing right beneath his legs. he feels calm despite all what happened. maybe it's because he is in his mind. or maybe he's just dreaming. no one can tell if this inner world is real or an imaginary thing. he starts walking and walking without any aim or goal. searching for something or anything.
axel: where am i? does time flow differently here or what?
he keeps walking and suddenly he sees a far away shadow figure of someone. he starts running to it untill he can see clearly who is it. it's rika standing in the middle of the unknown .
axel: rika!! is it really you?
rika: where am i?. so i really died after all
axel: I'm sorry it's all my fault. if i had known from the beginning. i ruined everything again.
rika: again?
axel: if i told you that i came from another world and another life would you believe me?
rika: if i can stay in a place like this while I'm dead than i think i should give a chance to believe everything.
they both walk till they see a big screen with a lot of seats in front of it. almost like a mini cinema in front of them. they take two seats in the middle sitting next to eachother.
axel: back then when i was 19 at my first life. i was a failure. well not that I'm not a failure now but.... the thing is i was empty without any purpose in life. i lived miserabley and tried to end it all... my selfishness caused an innocent person to die with me... and right when i was about to die. some unknown creature came to help me.
he promised me of a second chance to change my fate and here i am. no matter how hard i tried again it ended up in a bad way. i couldn't protect my family nor my friends. i brought sorrow and misery to innocent lives. all that just to fulfill my selfish desire. i couldn't even save you.. again.
rika: again?... so what was my life like on this other world
axel: i still can't remember all what happened but you were also struggling with your family. the only difference is that i never helped you back then. in fact i hated you... after all if it wasn't for your family then my mom wouldn't have taken her own life.
rika: what?
axel: back then i couldn't stop my father from abandoning us and staying with you and your mother. after mom knew she was depressed and desperate. she changed so much. stopped going to work and kept drinking and having mental break down. i tried to be there for her but i always felt distant from her in a way. yet i should have known that she was struggling. maybe if i talked more to her or listened to what she had to suffer and bare inside. but it was too late.
one day when i came back home from school. i opened the door to see that the living room is empty. it's messy as always but that has been usual to me. i climbed up the stairs and checked the other rooms yet no one was there. the only place left is the bathroom. it was locked at first from the inside so i had to crack the door. when i opened it i couldn't believe what i saw. she was laying dead in the bath in her blood. i couldn't even scream or cry or give any reaction. i was just shocked but deep down i knew that it was my fault. i kept ignoring her thinking that somehow all things would go back to normal with time but it didn't. it only got worse.
after it the house was empty. i had to live all alone. i was getting a little bit of money from child care facility and some local charity group every month but i wasn't much. i kept going to school despite all that because i felt that if i stayed more in the house I'll end up like my mother. and whenever i enter the class you were there. with your new family. i knew it was unfair to blame you for everything but i had no other person to release all my anger and hatred towards.
so i bullied you. everyday till i made the class hate you. i was miserable and i wanted everyone to be the same as me. you didn't even knew why i was doing this. you were even trying to make things up between us but that made me more angry. i just wanted everything to disappear. even you.
rika: what happened afterward.
you remember the school trip where kelly was in danger. it happened also in that world but i didn't have any powers or anything. i wasn't even that close to her but it's ironic that we ended up in the same group of four. but connor never actually showed up to the trip. after all he was that lonely kid who never joined any social event. so it was the three of us again. Kelly loved taking photos of the stars up close so she went alone at night. that's where the kidnapping happened and no one was there. no one knew till the morning of the next day came. that's where they found her body. it was late. so late.
rika: where were we at that time. why didn't we help or notice?.
at the afternoon of the same day. before the kidnapping happened. we were walking together to find some logs to make a fire for some camping. we didn't talk a lot since it was already intense and bad between us. but then you tried to talk to me and understand why I'm doing this and why i hurt you. it soon turned into a loud argument then a physical fight.
we were both just angry and mad at eachother. or maybe at ourselves. i can't remember what happened very well but i pushed you by accident and you fell over a small Cliff. i was shocked. i didn't mean for it to go this far. i hurried up to look for you and when i found you you were unconscious. i thought i had killed someone. i called for help and luckily there were people who were able to hear me. you were then sent to the hospital as soon as possible while i was being questioned about the incident.
i told the truth from the first moment. i accidently pushed you. but no one believed me yet despite that i was ready for any punishment they would lay on me. after all i was hated by most of my class. you were unconscious for two days until you finally woke up. you didn't receive fatal injury but both your legs were damaged to the point where you would need to use Vinci cane for the rest of your life.
when i knew what have i done to you i couldn't forgive myself. it was all my fault that you couldn't stand or walk normally again. i caused you pain that you can't heal from. the only thing was left for me to do is ask for your forgiveness and try to apologize even though it won't change anything. i wanted you to hate me. to mock me fot what i did. to get punished for it but you didn't. you simply forgiven me just like it was nothing. you even insisted that it was an accident and you fell. you made everything you can to not let me fall in trouble.
i was confused. why would you do something like that instead of hating me. of wanting to take revenge on the person who stole something dear to you. but i realized it afterwards. your actions towards me were simply out of pitty. you felt bad for me because how much of a failure i was. no body talked to me in school and you knew that i will get bullied more if they knew what happened. so you wanted to make things up by blaming yourself.
was i really that much of loser so you felt sympathy towards me. after the incident i couldn't show my face to school and when i took the courage one day and came it was just as i expected. everyone is looking at me with those eyes that are filled with disgust like I'm some kind of monster. i couldn't take it. i felt like i have no safe place to stay in anymore. that's why i left the city. that's why i didn't want anyone to know where have i went. i wanted to disappear into a place where on one knows that i even existed.
the years that followed that were simply a failed attempt to live as a proper human once again. i couldn't. i ended up dying in vain meaninglessly.
rika: that's a lot to comprehend. i don't know much about myself in the world you lived in and i don't know about the former self of you. but what i know is that you're the one who helped me all this time and saved me many times. that's why i don't think i felt pitty for you or anything. the you i know is kind and a genuine person who wants to be better everyday for the sake of the people he loves.
axel: but i couldn't save anyone in the end. it was all for nothing. i was so arrogant to even think that i deserve a second chance.
rika: how can you say that all of it was for nothing. the people you saved. the happy moments we shared together. the many times were you suffered for someone and took their pain on your shoulders. how can you say that you were a failure after all that.
axel: whining about it won't help now. it's all over. I'll just wait for death here. at least I'll feel some peace in my last moments. i don't have the energy to keep on living anymore.
rika: why have you wanted to become a hero? the axel i know will never say this.
axel: in the beginning i thought that i was doing it because i loved helping people and i hated seeing them suffer. i thought that i was a comic hero who can fight evil with his own sense of justice. but the more i think about it the more i realize that it was all a fake image that i created to feel better about myself. i never cared about justice or saving anyone. i only wanted to feel happy with myself. i thought that by doing this i would feel loved.
if people can't love me for who i am then maybe they can love the fake hero that was in front of them. i was happy with fake admiration and love. after all i never felt it before. that's why i was never a hero. i did it all for my selfish desires. i did it for me.
rika: does that make you a bad person? does wanting love and happiness makes you a monster that deserves to suffer all his life. you're not a monster nor a hero and you don't have to be. you're just a human. i always thought that my life was meant to be sad and painful until i die but i realized now that i wad saying this to convince myself that i shouldn't try. that i should just give up . but you taught me otherwise. you save me and showed me that i can be better and look for hope in the darkest times.
axel: but i couldn't save you.
rika: the fact that i spent all these years happily because you saved me is enough for me. i don't want you to stay like this because of me. i want you live happily and keep living on not for anyone and not for any fake names or fame. live fo yourself. no matter what happened and what will happen in the future you have to keep on living. for yourself and for me.
axel: that's a heavy burden. aren't you being a little selfish here.
rika: it's ok to be selfish. and it's my last request for you so please bare my selfishness for a little time.
as they both are talking the world and rika starts to fade slowly into ashes.
axel: what's happening?
rika: guess that you're body is waking up. the flow of time is different here. this conversation may have took some years in the real world. it was nice talking to you for the last time.
axel: what do you mean you can't just fade like this
rika's body fades more and more until small parts of here left to scatter in the sky along side with this world.
rika: guess our time is over here. i just wanted to let you know that you were always my hero. keep living and be happy.
axel: rika!!
harper: yo kido you finally woke up.
axel: where am i?
harper: in the small apartment of my assistanc.
ray: hey couldn't you find another place to hide him miss?
lara: don't be such a wimp. don't you want to help us.
ray: I'm helping her not you idiot.
harper: knock it off both of you. let the boy rest.
axel: what's happening here?
harper: welp a lot happened but I'll cut the chase for you. look through the window
axel sees a huge saucer covering the sky. it's so huge that you can see it clearly from any far distance.
axel: what is that?
harper: it appeared five hours ago and all news channels has been going crazy about it since then
. yet the general knew it would appear at a time like this. he's probably now is meeting their messenger.
axel: wait that shouldn't happen this early we still have two years.
harper: oh forgot to tell you. you slept for two years. or actually you were being held in the facility for that amount of time. you're now 19 years old. sorry to shock you just when you woke up.
axel: but i was just talking to rika for.... how many time did that conversation took?
harper: time flow differently in the inner worlds of you creatures.
axel: how do you know all of this?
harper: you think i sat down without doing anything in those two years. who do you think i am.
axel: wait the general is a...
harper: a weird monster am i right? i figured it long ago. i mean who would trust this dude.
axel: then why are you working with him?
harper: who said that? i only acted like i followed his orders for those two years. we had the same goal for a couple of time. we needed to create new technological developed weapons using your powers and we did. now i have nothing with him. he's just an enemy and i think he feels the same. je knows that i would have freed you at some point yet he didn't say anything about it. he's probably waiting for you. maybe that's all part of his plan.
axel: what can we even do. how will we stop him?
harper: who said we would stop him anyway. I'm jsut a normal human being. i can't fight these things with my lame gun. it's beyond my comprehension. i would die in seconds. but what about you. have you finally given up?
axel: i don't know anymore. all i wanted was a normal life.
harper: what is even normal about this. take one look at the sky and you will realize that the word normal is no longer available to be used. we could no longer be normal.
axel: so what will you do?
harper: me?. I'll just wait for my time to come. according to the information that i stole this saucer that is called the mothership will explode in three days. leaving a huge amount of lethal radiation that human bodies can't comprehend. even if we flew out of this country it's a matter of time till those crystal creatures find us. i think he called them homunculus. what an awful name. soon enough most humans will be slaves to them. we have to accept it i guess.
axel: but veto is working to destroy them. he's with humanity. at least that's what he said.
harper: so his name is veto. do you really think that someone who could sacrifice the lives of many innocent people is really yearning for peace?. that's the definition of insanity. but you're free to believe in him or not. you're free to give up and die or not. you're free to choose to fight or just run away. after all you have a better chance at surviving than most humans. but i don't think he will let you escape. he needs you for his unknown plan after all. the country is already in shambles so i don't think you will be wanted for a while. and I'm basically fired for letting you escape so I'm already wanted now. I'm no longer an investigator. you don't even have to follow me both of you.
ray: what are you even saying miss.

axel: do you know where is veto now?
harper: he's probably at the olympic stadium. it's where he will meet their messenger. you want to fight him or what.
axel: i need to talk to him then I'll decide what will i do.

harper: i wouldn't say that i will be a big help but i can try. after all dying without some resistance is kinda lame right. the old man would laugh at how pathetic that would be.

meanwhile at the same time this conversation took place in. at the olympic stadium the meeting was being held. veto is sitting at the front line while three homunculus appear and lang on the field. the messenger appears with his two body guards. his name is zeno. the original body of the homunculus is so long and thin. almost creepy looking black dolls with deformed faces so you can't really tell if they can see you or hear you. but they do have all the five senses and it's sharper than humans. their normal blood color is purple and sometimes it almost looks like dark blue. they have organs just like humans but we can't tell if they share the same set of organs like humans.
they have hearts which they call the core. it's protected by their crystal body so it won't be damaged because it's the weakest part in them. although they are strong and terrifying yet thier population is lower than humans by a huge difference. excluding the slaves and the weak workers on the mother planet the number of homunculus on the mothership that invaded the earth aky was only ten millions. yet we can't really tell if the huge amount of human population can outpower the tremendous strength of thses brutal monsters.
finally veto stands in front of zeno. the meeting begins.
veto: yo it's been a while. what is the visit for. you like the weather here?
zeno: i have no time to waste talking with a traitor. you really think you can stand against your own kind. know your place you fool.
veto: man you're no fun all you do is bla bla about random things. let's get this over with. what's the message?
zeno: this planet shall surrender in the five upcoming hours or it will face a terrible fate. we have more power and strength to demolishe this place in no time. escaping or fighting will not work. so surrender in silence and we will think about the fate of humans later. maybe we won't kill them all. the good and effective ones can still live as slaves and workers for the new age of this planet. any act of rebellion will be faced with brutal violence and force.
you have only three days till the ship explodes and with that it will destroy this planet.
veto: who is the idiot who blows his own ship. have you all lost your minds
zeno: you know we can live in the radiation without any problems so don't act like a fool. it's our first step to rule this planet. the most important strike is the first one.
veto: you stole it from my tongue. bang!!
zeno: huh??!!
the two body guards get sniped by hidden snipers at the stadium right at the center of the chest. it's where the heart or the core of the homunculus is. normally a gun bullet won't damage the homunculus bpdy much but these bullets were the newly devloped highly advanced ammo from the fragments of axel's body. it's the result of those two years of experiments. humanity is not going down without a fight. zeno gets shot at both of his legs. falling right on the ground in shock and disbelief.
zeno: what the hell is going on?
veto: well the most important strike is the first one don't you think?. now what i want you to deliver back to your mothership is a simple message. " humans don't fear war so come at us with everything you got".
zeno: you think you can get away with this? you will all be slaves and treated like animals. this planet is no longer yours. it will be amazing to see all humans suffer and die in vain and then you will realize that you shouldn't have challeng___.
veto shoots his heart before he could finish his sentence.
veto: man he really likes to talk a lot. but wait i should have let him to go to deliver the message. welp i guess killing them all is a good declaration of war so it will be fine.
veto turns around to see axel standing high up at the roof of the stadium. holding a sharp long crystal sword in his hand. his eyes are filled with determination.
veto: ohh who taught you to make this. it's probably that woman she's really smart just as i thought. long time no see kido. how is the weather up there.
axel is not listening to him. all he can think of is taking revenge on the person who ruined his life yet he's looking focused and sharp. he's still have his hatred and anger in his soul but now he have a much more important thing to do. decide the fate of this world and the fate of himself. those two years that were filled with suffering and pain are translated into one loud scream .
axel: Vetoooooooo!!!!
veto replies with a louder and more gruesome scream

" the fatal fight and the countdown that will decide this world fate has finally began. only three days left till the end of mankind "
