"Awaken, young one. You may not be the true heir, but maybe you shall succeed where I failed long ago."
In the middle of the oceans, a cluster of islands stands with the central one towering over the rest. Atop the island is a castle with ruins and a tattered kingdom that appears to have been abandoned long ago.
Deep within the castle, in the lowest chamber, a chained coffin made of pitch-black steel lay. Within the center of the coffin are rune markings. As a young woman with long, black hair that reached her waist, bright golden eyes, pale white skin, and an hourglass figure, she was dressed in a tight and revealing maid's dress and walked into the chamber, beginning to clean the room of dust.
As she cleaned the room that had gon untouched except by her monthly cleaning, she could not help but sigh.
"I don't understand why the family keeps this coffin. The old master died over 1000 years ago, and he is yet to awaken again," the woman spoke.
Walking up to the coffin, she touched the cold metal and wiped off the dust that had accumulated on it.
"Well, I guess they keep it as a relic of the old war," the maid sighed as she began to turn around and grab her mop.
Pulling the mop from the bucket, she began to clean the floor, but before she could even get a few sweeps in, she heard a humming sound coming from behind her.
Turning around to find the source, she saw something she thought was impossible. The coffin and its runes began to glow with a dazzling blue light, filling the room. The maid watched in utter confusion and terror, and the chains that locked the coffin started to unlock and fall to the floor.
Slowly, she watched as the lid began to shift, with the remaining dust falling off the coffin lid, which fell to the floor, exposing a thin, pale arm that seemed too weak to move such a heavy coffin door.
POV Change: MC
"Wh...what happened?" I tried to ask as I sat up
As I did, I could feel my body aching and the overwhelming sense of hunger, thirst, and weakness rush over me.
"Where am I?... Why is it so dark?" I asked, looking around as the confusion grew
In a few moments, my eyes began to adjust to the darkness, and I was able to see clearly. However, what I saw shocked me beyond what I had expected. My arms were thin and pale and abnormally so, like I had been starved and deprived of sunlight for months.
Looking down at what I was sitting on, I realized it was a coffin —a pitch-black metal coffin with dark blue matting within.
"D-did I die? No, I was just going..." before I could finish what I was saying, a sudden wave of pain hit me on the head.
The next thing I knew, my mind was being flooded with two sets of memories, one of me going to the store, and on my way back home, I was hit by a semi-truck that had swerved to miss a child.
The second was of a young boy who seemed to live like a prince, but then had everything taken from him as an army of warriors destroyed his father's kingdom, killing his father, siblings, and him.
As the memories settled and I was able to take a moment to breathe and process what I saw, I realized where I was—the lowest storage room of my castle.
"My home, my family, my kingdom, my mana...I really lost everything, but I also gained a new chance. A chance to make this thing right better, and with my memories from my second life, I can make it better."

"A system...was that the voice I heard before... no, this one is different...I will wait for now. I need to assess the condition of my kingdom," I said as I pulled my body out of the coffin.
As I tried to take a step forward, my knees that had not been used for how long had given out, and I almost fell to the ground, but right before I made contact, I felt warm, soft skin grab me, supporting me up.
"Ah, p-please be careful, my...my lord, you mustn't move," the soft, nervous yet concerned voice spoke.
Looking up, I saw a maid standing by supporting my body over her shoulder.
"W...who are you?" I asked as I leaned on the coffin
"As for my rudeness. I am Nyx, I maid that has been serving the house of Alduien for the past 200 years," Nyx spoke, giving me a deep bow.
"Nyx...I don't remember a name like that among the staff? And I would definitely remember someone like you," I replied, trying to remember her.
"Well, my lord, it has been 1000 years since your death; much has happened," Nyx replied
"...1000 years... I-it can't be how?" I asked, unable to believe what I heard
"I'm afraid that it is the truth, my lord...The old Kingdom of Alduien has perished.
"Take me to the throne room. I must see my kingdom," I ordered as I tried to force myself to stand.
As I did, I fell back to the ground.
"Damn it, this body is too weak," I cursed, looking at my frail shell of my previous body.
"My Lord, I can't take you to the throne room. The queen and king are having a meeting with the generals and government officials.
"What...my whole bloodline was killed, how is there still a royal family?" I asked
"The youngest of your siblings was spared. He became a puppet for the Sky kingdom, and now the royal family has become more of a figurehead. Well, that's what the history books have told us," Nyx explained.
"Baldin...for you to have to go through that...fuck, that dammed sky kingdom, I swear I will burn it to the ground, Odin, Zeus, I will kill your families as I make you watch you bastards!!!" I cursed my anger getting the best of me as I slammed my fist into the ground.
"My Lord, please calm down, you must not overexert yourself. Your body is still fragile," Nyx said with a pleading voice as she knelt before me.
"You're right...Nyx goes to prepare a lot of food for me and brings it back here, and don't tell anyone I have awakened, not yet awakened," I sighed as I sat against the coffin.
"B...But how will I sneak past the family and other staff with large amounts of food?" Nyx asked
"Lie if you have to, just get me the food. I will deal with my descendants post the fact,"
"...V-Very well, my lord," Nyx said worriedly as she stood up and left the chamber.
Now with the room to myself, I looked back at the floating blue screen at the side of my vision.
[Solution: Body reconstruction, would you like to proceed?]
"Yes, proceed," I replied without hesitation.
{Hello, welcome to my novel, a DC fanfic that incorporates summoning and kingdom-building elements. The primary focus of the story's beginning will be the Greek and Norse pantheons. Still, they will also include DC elements, such as the Amazonian, leading to the Justice League and beyond. Hope you enjoy}
