7 Danger approaches
The strength of the trolls was something surprising, especially if we are talking about primitive beings, at this level thinking beings could only count on the base attributes of their race.
Races do not differ only in their appearance, there were some that, due to their constitution or nature, had certain advantages compared to others.
Strength, agility, dexterity, vigor, charm, intelligence, instinct and unique senses - the elements mentioned above were present in most races, but some were superior to others.
I would love to introduce all the races, the differences between them, including their strengths and weaknesses, as well as their cultures, but I prefer to do this as the story progresses, so let's dive into this universe together.
"You idiot, why don't you use that lizard brain of yours to think for once in your life?"
The furious troll raised his club and violently struck the lizard man and without any resistance, the body went flying, colliding violently with the wall.
"Boss. Forgive me, I just did what the boss told me to do, nothing more."
Lizardmen have scales that cover their bodies and thanks to these elements , they had a very strong defense, even if a troll hit them with considerable force, their bones were still intact.
"You wretch, didn't I tell you to set them on fire, why are they still walking around?"
" The chief said to set fire to their house so they would burn to death."
" You bastards, then why didn't you do it?"
" Chief, I did as I was ordered, the chief said to set fire immediately and so I did"
"You useless, brainless lizard, what would it cost you to wait until they were inside the house and then set it on fire?"
" Sorry boss, I didn't think that far."
"You idiot, I didn't think that far"
The troll grimaced and this time he hit with such force that it caused the lizardman's scale to be ripped from his skin.
"Did you expect that as soon as their houses were burning they would jump into the flames willingly?"
" no , well, I mean"
"Don't answer me you shit , don't you see when I'm being ironic?"
"You there"
The troll pointed to the other lizard man who was also in the room to come closer, even though he was trembling with fear he still did so.
For comparison, the average height of a lizardman was an incredible two meters, but even so, they were afraid of the troll in front of them.
" Yes, boss"
"Get this brainless person out of here, if I see him again his head will roll, frankly, why have subordinates if in the end I have to do everything myself"
The troll looked at the lizard man whose scales had a bluish tint and commanded in his savage voice.
" What is your name ? "
" Boss , I'm Prokhor"
"Well done Prokhor, you are now second in command"
"Thank you very much Boss, I won't disappoint you, I promise"
Prokhor's tail was wagging with undisguised enthusiasm, his displays were so bowed in respect as if there were no bones in his body.
"I don't need empty promises, I want results, now tell me where is that stinky human who dared to stain my little bunny "
Thirty minutes later Prokhor returned with his men and bowed before the troll.
"Boss the human and his friend Iron Tail were located at the coliseum, the two are staying there and have signed up for tomorrow's battles."
"In the coliseum? Then I won't be able to do anything until they leave there for now, will I?"
"Not exactly boss"
The troll looked at the blue-scaled lizard man and coldly ordered
" explain ?"
"Chief, I took the liberty of registering all our gang in the night battles that will take place tomorrow, this way one of us will inevitably fight against the human or his friend"
troll 's eyes gleamed with bloodlust as Prokhor continued to explain.
" and when that happens, he will be killed without a doubt"
When the lizard man's words came to an end, a silence took over the place and in the past, both the lizard man and the troll began to laugh intensely like two maniacs.
Elsewhere, but precisely in the local adventurers' guild, there was a wizard with his team.
Fvodor Baranov, if you were to translate this name into the language spoken in the sub-Saharan continent it would be something like God's gift.
Despite being a commoner, the minotaur considered himself a nobleman and if one day he leveled up enough for his existence to be elevated to a base being, he would definitely serve a noble house and be treated very well.
But it has been 20 years since Fvodor Baranov became an evolving being and was stuck with a primary being and his level did not increase despite efforts.
When someone became an evolving being it was like opening the doors to the fourth dimension and to enter it you had to level up so that you were really powerful and respected accordingly
To level up you had to acquire something called experience and absorb a good amount of spiritual energy, if you have these two elements you will naturally become strong enough to rival a nuclear bomb.
"So what did you find out about the boy, is there someone behind him?"
"No sir, apparently the boy is an orphan, he has been living with his sister in a humble house on the top of the mountain that goes to the Black Forest"
"That's strange, so how would someone have a page from a grimoire and be smooth-talking enough to properly converse with a wizard, have you researched your past well?"
"Yes sir, there is no document about you or your family other than the boy's birth certificate, apparently your entire family was annihilated by monsters when the boy was still a child."
"Did you search your house?"
In response the kneeling man shook his head in denial.
"Why haven't you done this yet?"
"We didn't have a chance sir, it looks like someone set fire to it before we got there, whatever was in there went up in flames"
"And the boy, something happened to him, is he safe?"
The minotaur wizard seemed quite worried, as if his son, or rather his source of wealth, was in danger.
"No need to worry sir, it appears the boy was away when the fire started."
"And where is he now?"
"The human boy and his iron-tailed friend are staying at the coliseum."
The wizard sighed and cursed deeply
"Do you have confidence in kidnapping the boy from inside the coliseum?"
The wizard knew that something like that wouldn't be possible, but it didn't hurt to ask.
"No sir, if you tried anything inside the coliseum, my head and the heads of my men would roll and we wouldn't know who attacked us."
"You're right, there's danger in the coliseum, prepare 50 spirit crystals, we'll have to bargain with that cunning fox, that damned whore "
The kneeling man frowned and asked the guard.
"My lord, is the boy really worth that much?"
The wizard looked around and saw that there was no one's dress besides them, he conjured an acoustic barrier that blocked the sound.
"I leveled up and all thanks to a single page that boy wrote casually and although the parchment is old the ink was still fresh and had just been written, my spell revealed that"
"Sir, congratulations on leveling up."
"Thank you, you know it's very difficult for a wizard to level up if he doesn't have a noble family supporting him, hence my obsession with capturing the boy."
"Sir, if that boy is noticed by the lady at the coliseum, we will lose a lot."
"Get ready, we're leaving tonight for the coliseum tonight, do you understand?"
