Chapter 2 - the Wedding Ceremony.

St. Matthew's Cathedral, Los Angeles.

The golden-trimmed cathedral was filled with friends, family, and a few of the world's most powerful people — but no cameras, no reporters. This was private. Exactly how Christopher J. Reeves and Paige Swanson wanted it.

At the altar, Chris stood tall in a perfectly tailored white tuxedo with a subtle gold tie. Beside him was his Best Man, Cecil Steadman, steady and composed in his own suit. Across from them, Missy Cooper, serving as Maid of Honor, and Erica Swanson, Paige's sister, stood ready on the bride's side.

In the pews, the Big Bang gang settled into their seats. Sheldon had his notepad out, scribbling furiously.

Leonard groaned. "Sheldon, can you not treat this wedding like a scientific observation?"

Sheldon sniffed. "This isn't just a wedding, Leonard. This is a union between Paige Swanson, my only intellectual rival, and Christopher J. Reeves — the golden anomaly of Earth. History demands proper documentation."

As guests began filing in, the Guardians of the Globe took their seats. The Immortal drew eyes immediately, his long hair tied back above a sharp black suit. War Woman, regal in a crimson gown, carried herself like a queen. Aquarius looked every bit the statesman in his tux.

Howard gawked. "Holy crap. That's the Immortal. And War Woman. And—dude, Aquarius is right there. We're literally sitting in the same room as the Guardians of the Globe."

Raj whispered, starry-eyed: "It's like Comic-Con without the smell of Cheetos and regret."

Penny smirked. "Relax. They're just people in suits."

Howard shot back. "No, Penny, they're the people in suits."

Next came Nolan Grayson, walking in with Debbie at his side, elegant in a navy gown, and their teenage son Mark, tugging uncomfortably at his collar in an ill-fitting suit. To most, they were just another family friend of Chris.

But Sheldon's eyes narrowed. He scribbled rapidly, muttering.

Leonard leaned over. "Sheldon, what are you doing?"

Sheldon's voice shook with excitement.

"It's obvious. The posture. The muscle density beneath the tux. The faint calluses from high-velocity atmospheric reentry. Nolan Grayson… is Omni-Man."

Leonard nearly choked. "WHAT?!"

Howard hissed. "Shhh! You're telling me Superman's mustached cousin is sitting three pews away?"

Raj clutched his chest. "Oh God. We're at a wedding with Omni-Man and the Guardians. This is the greatest day of my life."

Penny rolled her eyes. "You guys are unbelievable."

And then… Homelander.

He strutted down the aisle in full costume — bright blues, stars, and his ridiculous cape flowing dramatically. While everyone else respected the intimacy of the day, Homelander looked like he was ready for a press conference.

The Guardians exchanged knowing glances. Debbie whispered something to Nolan, whose mustache twitched with disdain.

Penny muttered: "Oh great. Evil Superman Barbie showed up in cosplay."

Howard smirked. "He's the only guy here who thought a wedding needed Comic-Con."

Raj whispered: "He looks like a Funko Pop come to life."

Then the organ swelled. The doors opened.

Paige Swanson entered, radiant in her gown, her father proudly escorting her down the aisle. Her mother and Erica stood with misty eyes as the entire cathedral rose.

Chris straightened, his composure steady, his smile soft. For once, the man who had destroyed a meteor the size of Texas, extinguished a forest fire with a single breath, and stopped a tsunami with one clap looked not like the world's strongest hero… but simply a man in love.

At the altar, Paige took Chris's hands.

The priest nodded. "The bride and groom have prepared their own vows."

Chris cleared his throat, his voice warm but firm.

"Paige… I've fought wars, stared down alien invasions, and seen the worst the universe has to offer. But nothing compares to what I see when I look at you. You don't just ground me. You remind me what all this strength is for. Today, I vow to be more than Mr. Miracle. I vow to be your husband, your partner, your safe place. Always."

Paige blinked back tears, then smiled through them.

"Chris, I grew up in a world that never quite made sense. Equations, patterns, theories — those I could understand. But you? You're the one variable I never could solve. And I don't want to. Because I don't need answers. I just need you. Today, I vow to love you, challenge you, and walk beside you. Always."

The priest smiled. "The rings, please."

Cecil handed one ring, Erica the other. Chris slid the band onto Paige's finger; she did the same for him.

"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride."

Chris leaned in, and as their lips met, the cathedral erupted in applause. The Guardians stood and clapped. Nolan and Debbie smiled politely. Mark blushed, trying not to look embarrassed. Even Sheldon managed to set down his notepad long enough to clap stiffly.

For a moment, Christopher J. Reeves wasn't the strongest man in the world. He was just a man who had everything he ever wanted.
