Following his routine, Ruka took a walk during his lunch break. Several people stared at him, wide-eyed and panicked, gesturing frantically. Then, a sharp impact struck his back, and darkness swallowed him whole.
He awoke in a blinding white room, dominated by a massive throne upon which sat a being composed entirely of red energy.
"So… where am I? What's happening?" Ruka stammered.
"I… I guess this means I'm dead. Is this like those reincarnation stories from fantasy novels?" he asked, voice shaky but curious.
"You are to be reincarnated in the world of Naruto. Accept, and a new life awaits. Refuse, and you will enter the reincarnation cycle—memories wiped, karma reset, reborn in the same world. Choose now."
Ruka didn't hesitate. This had been his fantasy for years: escaping modern pressures by starting anew in a different world. Trading one life for another, he knew the risks—but at least this was a choice. "I accept," he said calmly.
"Very well. First, spin the wheel to determine your clan."
A glowing wheel appeared beside him, inscribed with names: Senju, Uchiha, Hagoromo, Yuki, Sabaku, and more. He spun it with all his strength, crossing his fingers. As the wheel slowed, it landed on Uchiha, and relief washed over him.
"You will be reborn in the Uchiha clan. The timeline is set in the Warring States era, twenty-four years before the hidden villages are founded. You have accumulated [ ] karmic points—not just from your lifetime, but fifty years beyond your death, thanks to your charities. Alongside you, four other reincarnators will be reborn in various clans and regions. You may spend points to gain abilities. After rebirth, your points will reset to zero, with no karmic balance until death."
Ruka immediately began forming strategies. The details were scarce, but he knew clashes with other reincarnators were inevitable. Would they all start equally?
"Yes," the being replied. "Subtract 500 points."

Ruka exhaled. At least, he would likely have to deal with coordinated opposition—giving him some tactical advantage.
