Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

After the light settled, every invaders run towards the direction of the light. Like moths getting attracted by the lamp's light. Noticing this, the angels followed suite.

What they saw shocked them to the core. Aliya, standing in front of me, wearing a fully armored that looked futuristic with blue wings that also changed due to her second mode's nature, can be seen. Her armour shocked the other angels as they recognised what it was.

Fully armoured angel is a sign of being on the second mode. This indicates that a second mode is unleash right in front of their eyes. The other two commanders, the commander of platoon 392 and the platoon commander of 396 were even shocked. Their angels, who have been in the battlefield for a year, wasn't been able to awaken second form, and yet here I am; a rookie commander with no experience at all was able to awaken it. Though they didn't know how since forcing an angel awaken will be inteoduce later on the game after all.

"How is this possible?! Is that angel a cover up one or what?! There's no way an angel, freshly graduate was able to go into second mode!"

The 392 commander shouted, he was in pure disbelief and rejection that he completely ignore his image in front of his angels.

"Right!"

The other commander, the traitor, shouted as well. It shouldn't be possible. There's no way a rookie was able to pull of a second mode right after their first battle.

Is probably what there thinking.

Is it that big of a deal? I mean, it was easy and pretty much common later on in the story. But I guess this is twelve years into the past after all.

Though, this might get 'her' attention.

"Troublesome... But this is the only time I can repay what that bastard did..."

I muttered hatefully before looking at the commander of 396, which made him shiver.

'that cold gaze... Why am I getting chill from some nossy little kid who knows nothing!...'

Sensing my anger, she also looked towards the commander that I'm staring at. Since angels has the ability to sense their commander's emotions anywhere, she naturally felt the anger I have towards that commander.

If I tell one measly one word and she'll launch herself towards him. But we got invaders to kill first.

Don't worry, I'll you soon. And I'm going to make it hurt

"Aliya."

"Commander."

She immediately kneel after calling her. Once on second mode, the angels treat their commanders like a god. Worshipping them like there's no other thing to do.

The devs are definitely against women rights...

I looked at my side where the camera is.

This is not my fault okay! It's the devs fault! Naturally, I'm not against women rights! The author also said this okay?!

It seems like I was being an idiot, staring at nothingness. But to aliya's perspective, turning my head towards the direction where the other commander is misunderstood to what I was doing.

She thought she also needs to kill the other commander as she was still felt the anger inside me.

I snap back to reality and look at her again. She was still kneeling, bowing her head like an obedient pet she is.

"Kill everything. Leave nothing behind. Burn everything if you have to."

"Understood, commander."

She respectfully nodded before standing up and turn around. She faced the invaders and angels that were heading straight at us with no emotion.

Since my order of killing everything means she has to also kill her fellow angels and my fellow two commanders. If this was the first mode, she might hesitate a bit since she's killing a fellow angel. Though she would still do it.

But with second mode unlocked and currently being used, my orders are the top priority above everything else. If I ordered her to kill her fellow platoon squadmates, she will do it without any hesitation or question. That's the personality she unlocks after being on the second mode.

Yup, the angel's personality will be changed, though it depends on what their first personality is. It's just an upgraded version of it. And since aliya is already obedient and respectful on her first mode, it was enhanced ten times after being on second form.

...

I watched aliya commit a massacre. Angels and invaders were not safe from her. They were either sliced or burn into ashes. Her awaken power, [Hell Fire], can burn anything she wants to burn. You wouldn't expect a calm and calculative to have an enrage and uncontrollable power right?

There is one downside of this power, and that she can't burn outside the physical concept. Meaning, spiritually, mentally, soul, concepts, dreams, imaginations, aspects, rules, laws, anything that didn't have physical will not be affected from her fire.

It's overpowered at the beginning but fall short later on as I will have to deal with souls and spiritual stuff. But that's for the future me, I should focus on what to do before that happens.

It seems like my leg was fine, considering I was able to walk normally now.

That girl... Right after entering the second mode, she immediately heal my wound.

Aliya's hell fire can also heal, which is unexpected at first encounter. You would've thought that such power that can burn anything have the ability to also heal anything. As long as it's not fatal and severe, she can mostly heal anything.

"Hey."

I called, walking calmly towards the panicking commander of 396. After all, who wouldn't panic when your angels are veing massacre one by one, easily at that too.

"W-why are you attacking my weapons!! This is absurd!! I'm filing a complaint later--"

*Bang*

"Arghhhh!!!"

"Did I say you could speak?"

The pistol, which was still smoking, made a satisfying click, indicating I can shoot the pistol I got from the ground earlier on the way here.

Using this, I shot his left leg, making him stumble on the ground and scream. His scream went notice by his angels and tried to help but was killed by aliya, who incinerate everything.

"Your the commander of 396 platoon right?"

I asked coldly before pointing at his head, which made him flinched. Tears started to fall down, he was so scared that he could pass out at any moment.

"Pathetic. Some commanders were willing to gave up their life, bravely protecting the lives of people inside the [Domain], and yet here you are, cowering to some measly pistol that I just happen to picked up. Where's the bravery that the school embedded to you huh? You're out here, at the very back, doing nothing but ordering your angels to protect you and not even protect the containers we were assigned with. Are you even a commander?"

*Bang*

"Arghhh!!!"

He grunted as I shot his other leg. Since he was frozen in fear, he couldn't dodge let alone do anything to get out of this situation. Truly pathetic.

"Our mission is to safely escort these supplies and make sure it got into to the frontline where actual commanders fight. Unlike you, who were focusing on surviving, they're giving their life out there so someone like you could live."

*Bang*

"Arrghh!!!"

This time, I shot his left arm. He grunted yet again but didn't do anything. Of course, I'm not underestimatinh him. Matter of fact, every enemy I face on this game; I took them seriously and was on guard all the time. Since the death of your character is severe, it became a habit of mine.

"It's okay if you prioritise your life. That's totally normal. But ignoring your mission? That's entirely unforgiving. These supplies are important to them, it's one of their source why they keep fighting so humanity could live. And yet here you are, treating your angels like tools that can be discarded once they were done."

*Bang*

To finish it off, I shot the last remaining limbs he has. Now, he finally has the gut to talk back at me. Though he glared at me first. His glare were full of malice.

"What did I even do to you?! I don't even know eho you are!! And so what if I treat those useless fool as tools?! They can't even do what their job right now! They're absolutely useles--"

I put end of the pistol on his mouth

*Bang*

A satisfying click were heard as smoke were oozing off the pistol. Some blood were wrapped up at the end of the barrel.

"What I hate in this world is bad mouthing angels. Don't forget, they're the reason why your alive right now. They're the reason why humanity is still standing. They're the reason ehy you can live happily and enjoy what you want to enjoy. And you're telling me they're useless? Your telling me they can't do their job? What do you do? Stamping some papers? Cowardly hiding at the back when you engage in battle? You can't even lead your angels properly since you were focusing on your own survival. Now tell me, who's the useless one now?"

He spat at the commander's corpse before heading towards aliya's direction.

"I would like to add one last thing, angels aren't a 'thing' they are your people. Your companions. The very group you trusted your life with. And the same group who will raise you to the top. So quit complaining to me about them being useless and think for a second. You are the useless one here."

I didn't realized my speech reach aliya. That's right, she heard those word by word, while massacring everyone on sight. She widden her eyes, in shock. At first, she thought she would be treated like any other angels from her commander. Being used as a tool. Naturally, this is what she thinks her fate is so she didn't complain. But the words that came from her commander just now made her feel something else. An emotion that shouldn't be raising were now above.

"Ahh~!!! You're making me love you even more commander~!!! Commander~! Commander~! Commander~! Commander~! Commander~! Commander~! Commander~! Commander~! Commander~! Commander~! Commander~! I saw aliya killing more intensely than before. It seems like she was fired up after unlocking her second form.

That's supposed to be expected. Any angels who unlocked their second mode give at least a massive boost from the start that also affects their personality. Though, that will be nullified after many use which is unfortunate.

I stretched my hands high in the sky as I watch angels and invaders falling to the ground like some flies who died by touching a fire.

"What a good view..."

I muttered as I grabbed a sniper rifle that has a futuristic look into it, and aim at one of the invaders. I might not be able to fight on the frontline, I will at least help my angels at the back and lead them properly. Unlike some commander who focuses on thinking of an escape route.

The other commander wasn't able to watch what I did earlier since he was also focusing on how to survive to a crazy angel in front of him. His angels were getting killed left and right like they were nothing as aliya keep killing them nonestop. Matter of fact, it even intensified after I killed that annoying bastard.

"Oh!"

I noticed the commander on my scope as he command his angels while panicking.

"I forgot him. He was also with that commander if I remember."

*Bang*

I fired as the bullet passes through the invaders and angels like until it hit the head of the remaining commander. He immediately dropped to the ground that shook his angels. They looked around to see who shoot their commander but fail due to aliya arriving in front of them.

It seems like she sense my emotions yet again and clarify things, which by going to where the last commander which is now dead.

...

After three hours, aliya finally killed everyone. No one is safe from her killing spree as she killed angels and invaders a like, not discriminating between them.

"I completed your orders, commander."

She respectfully said as she immediately kneel down after landing in front of me. This action made me patted her head which she accept without complaining.

Head pats are one of the ways you could rise their affection right? I mean, that's what some other novels depicted it.

"Good job. As a reward, I'll give you anything as long as it's with in my power."

"Ah! Then"

She existed on her second mode and jumped right into my arms, hugging me tightly. It seems like this is what she wanted from the start after I wake up.

She was so worried I would died if I didn't wake up. Don't worry, even though I don't know how I was able to reincarnate here, I will do everything in my power to save every single one of you.

That's a promise.

"Is it a hug you want?"

I said, even though I still have a masked, it didn't bother her as she kept hugging me more tightly.

Too tightly.

"Um... Aliy..."

I couldn't say anything as she put my head on her two big mountains, suffocating me even more.

I didn't resist though. Who wouldn't? This is basically free taste for me!!

...

I sighed as I look at aliya who were in a dogeza position, apologizing respectfully.

"It's okay. I just almost died, that's all."

"No! Commander would've died if I--"

"Enough. That's an order."

She nodded and immediately shut her mouth. Like I said, my orders are law for her so she followed it without hesitation even if it's against her will.

After that playful banter, I realized my surrounding. It was full of corpses! Angels and invaders a like wede scattered around the warship as it continues to sail.

How? It's because this warship is an automatic one. As long as it was not destroyed, it will reach it's destination without any problem. Fuel? This world doesn't operate on fossil fuels anymore you know? Fuels were last used since one hundred years ago. That's what the lore says when I asked about what fuel it ran later on the game.

"This... Will take a lot."

I sighed as I start to remove the bodies one by one off the warship so it looked normal.

"Wait! Aliya, can you help me burn all this bodies? I'll handle the ashes after."

"Yes, commander."

She activated her second mode [Hell Fire], before incinerate every body on the ship. Turning every single one of them into ashes and I swept it off the ship right after.

Also, I didn't forget to remove the cores from all the invaders by the way. It will be wasteful to burn them along with their bodies since it could sell at a good price.

"Now, since we're done here, I'll handle the navigation and route. Rest for now."

"But commander--"

"No buts. That's an order."

She stopped before nodding. She then grab one of the sun beach chairs and lay down. She was resting and monitoring my surroundings secretly, ensuring I am safe at all times. That was her purpose after all.

If the commander was killed, the angels should also die. That's the number one rule. Unless it was an exception, their angels should be one hundred percent die.

How am I going to recruit angels? Well, to be honest, the angels you will get in the future will be assigned to you by the higher ups. As to why I said recruiting? It's due to the fact that there is two different kind of angels. A normal one which is called [Archi], and a [Rouge] one.

These types of angels are the one who didn't follow the domain's rules. The [Domain] is the main place where the last of humanity lives. This is also where the angels and commanders are produced. Meaning, all of the angels should be tied to whatever the rules of domain has.

And yet these angels ignore them entirely. They are criminals who will do anything that benefits them. And that is also the reason why I want to recruit some of them. Since half of my angels in my platoon were rouge type after all.

Despite their status on the society, they have the most potential out of the two. Since everyday is like hell to them, they were able to use their second mode much more proficiently compare to archi type. Though third mode is entirely closed off to them as it needed the commander's affection.

But imagine they have it as well, wouldn't they be overpowered? The third mode is thousand times stronger than the second mode. It literally affects reality itself, now with their proficiency and mastery like their second mode? Yup... Overkill. That's all there is to it.

But this was all a theory as no one has every unlock the third mode yet. And since the last time I remember, I was the only person playing this game. Meaning, I didn't have any help and can only sepculate about it's power.

I didn't notice I was done sweeping all the dust as I look around for more and there was none.

Since it was done, I guess it's time to check the containers. Even though I was killing and getting my sweet revenge, my entire focus were the place where the containers are. And it was untouched by anyone.

As we arrived at the container room, the door was locked so I asked aliya to get the key for me. Every commander has a master key where it can unlock any doors or system that was permitted to it. It depends on the rank, and since I was a rookie, I wouldn't be able to unlock some higher places.

Not that I needed it now... It was only the beginning, I will climb up through the ranks soon enough after I get those two angels...

I smirked as I unlock the door leading to the containers full of supplies.

Its over for them.

As I opened and head inside, I was shock at how big the room was. Despite looking small outside, it was entirely different from inside.

"It's huge commander... I didn't think we have this on the warship..."

She said, she was awe at how massive the container room was. I mean, it is containing a huge supply for the frontlines where the war is going on after all. Matter of fact, this shouldn't be enough for them. They needed more as the war continue until the protagonist steps in which will be likely one or two years from now.

It's okay. I'm not in a hurry to go to the frontlines as I need some works to do and preparation before going in there.

"It seems the supplies were untouched. Our mission still continues. Continue on scouting the area as we speak, there might be another ambush waiting for us since this was a huge supply to just handout casually. "

"Yes, commander."

She replied with a tone of obedient and respectful. She then follow me after I make sure the containers were secured.

"Also"

I stopped which made aliya tilt her head. I turn around to face her and stared at those beautiful red eyes of her.

"Don't overdo it. As long as you can handle and didn't abused yourself, that's all that matters. I'm not saying you shouldn't surpass your limits. I'm saying you shouldn't abuse it."

I said, smiling under my mask. I know she can sense I'm smiling as she has entirely different kind of senses injected to her.

This made her smile before nodding.

"Yes, as you command, commander."

I nodded before walking off, I was going toeards the front of the wardhip where everything happened. It might be stupid as I could get killed by an ambush since it was an open area, but I trust aliya.

Her second mode is entirely different compare to other second modes. As long as I'm in danger of going to be in danger, it will activate automatically and prevent it. Even if you attack me at the speed of light, her second mode can immediately react and prevent it. That is why it's unfair and overpowered at the beginning of the game.

...

Our mission is to deliver this warship safely to a port near the frontlines. And after confirming the delivery, we were ordered to be sent back to the [Domain] and report back everything that just happened.

"That's the port commander!"

"Hm?"

I remove my sunglasses as I take a look at the small port in front of us. It was slowly getting wider as we got close to the shore.

"Yup. That's the flag alright."

I replied as I stand up and properly fix my suit. Even if I have strong army, respect is one of the virtue you still need.

Treat people who they want to treat you. That line struck my very core of understanding the world.

...

As the warship arrived, we carefully exit the ship as three commanders were waiting at the port. They were wearing a tuxedo and each has three stars on one of their shoulders. Indicating they were veterans amongst veterans.

And of course, I wouldn't forget about the three angels floating behind each of them ehile using their second form. While me? Aliya was on first mode as it will cause much troublesome problem than killing the two commanders and their angels.

I walk closer to them and the commander in the middle extended his hand as I arrived. Of course, I respectfully took it as he introduced.

"My name is [Sukatshima Ryota]. The commander of 281 platoon squad."

"Nice to meet you sir, my name is zero. The commander of a newly formed 666 platoon squad."

"Likewise. Though, may I asked why you're wearing a mask?"

Ryota commented, ignoring the fact that it has a weird symbols on it.

"Well, we encountered an unexpected ambushed on the way and my face kind of got burned..."

"?!"

The three commanders jolted. An ambush? Inside their own territory?! How is that even possible?!

Is what they're thinking right now. Since the three of them were guarding the frontlines between the humanity and invaders, having ambushed inside their own territory by the enemy means one thing.

They somehow slip some of them, entering and trying to disrupt the smooth operation of resupplying. Lucky for them, I was able to stop it. If it weren't, those two commanders woul've fled and the enemy might've been successfully ambushed and ransacked our supplies.

I saw ryota commanding her angel to sent a message, which she immediately follow. It was top priority as some of the enemy were able to break the frontline that has been stalemate for quite a while now.

And due to this stalemate, the invaders took this chance to retaliate and sneak someof their troops to disrupt the flow of resources.

Classic first stage. I remember I died like, thousands of times trying to take different path. And the one I'm currently on is the best one.

Since the death penalty isn't that severe at the start, I took advantage of that and played it like there was no tomorrow.

"I assume there's heave casualties since you and your angel are the only one who was ale to arrived here?"

"Yes, that is right sir ryuko. Originally, we were three commanders that were sent inside the warship. It was peaceful shipping when the invaders ambushed us. They were able to kill one of the commanders right off the bat which made his angels rampage. This gave enough time to counter attack, resulting on everyone's death as I was able to survive. I tried waiting for the reinforcement to heal and rest but I still need to do my mission. And lucky enough, we arrived peacefully."

Ryuko nodded before dismissing me and let me rest here before going back. Though I insist not too but he was stubborn so I couldn't decline.

...

At one of the guest house, there was two bed inside a one room. For me and for my angel, who was sitting on top of it. And let me say this, she's very sexy and hot even when sitting.

"Commander, why did you lie?"

"Hm? Why did I lie?"

She nodded before staring at my figure. I was looking at the cieling, trying to see if there's a camera or a listening device installed. I've been doing this since I arrived at this room and found nothing.

It seems like they were not that cautious yet. In the future, every room as a listening device and camera installed to make sure there was no traitor amongst us. And guess who's fault is that? Of course, the guy that I just killed. He was the reason why the trust amongst the humanity broke. He created so much chaos that it lead to one of the most tradegy to svery exists on this stupid game.

And I was there. I witness everything. I witness my angels getting killed one by one. I couldn't handle it, now that I think about it. How did that not faced me? Right, I was just a hungry for winning... A fool who shouldn't live after emotionlessly watch my angels die.

Well, I was not that much attached to the game back then so it's understandable.

"It's a secret."

I giggled as I saw her pouting. A cute pout that I almost couldn't resist.

"Meanie... Commander is so mean!..."

"Ah?... Sorry but I'll tell you soon in the future."

"Hmp!"

She faces the other side of the bed as she cover her face with the sheet we were given earlier. Since we were a guest that shouldn't be at the frontline yet, I was being treated as some kind of costumer rather than a commander in duty.

"Let's sleep for now. We'll handle a lot more starting tomorrow so you should get some good sleep."

"Understood, commander."

She smiled before going to sleep. She might have powers, she still feels what a normal human feels.

"Good night."

I whispered as I slowly drifted to sleep.
