After learning the function of the ring in her hand, Ranni couldn't help but fondle it affectionately for a while.
She thought for a moment, then walked over to the doll body she had once inhabited. Taking off the ring from the doll's hand, she came before Arthur.
"Since you understand me so well, then this ring shall be kept by you. When I was young and ignorant, I made the ring in a woman's style. This one here, I remade later in a man's style.
My king, allow me to put it on for you."
Ranni clasped Arthur's hand and slid the ring onto his finger.
Looking at the ring now on his hand, Arthur finally understood why that Dark Moon Ring had looked so feminine before—no wonder he had felt embarrassed to wear it.
"My king, take me on a walk through this space. And also… I want to learn more about the outside world."
Ranni's words pulled Arthur back from his thoughts.
He nodded in agreement and led Ranni on a stroll through the realm.
Arthur told her about the general state of the Harry Potter world.
What surprised her most was that this land had no Overarching Will. Even more astonishing to her was that the magical world here remained secluded, never revealing its true might to the rest of the world.
To that, Arthur could only explain it as a difference between worlds.
Compared to ancient times, when wizards could cast spells that tore heaven and earth apart, the wizards of today had long since lost such world-shaping power.
This was the unavoidable drawback of diluted bloodlines. With each passing generation, the blood of wizards grew thinner, and their potential ceiling lower.
That was why it took so long for the wizarding world to produce a true genius.
As the two talked, they unknowingly came beneath the golden tree.
Ranni touched its trunk and said softly:
"It's different from the Erdtree in the Lands Between. That tree was filled with domineering greed, intent on seizing all. But in this one, I feel the tolerance of rivers embracing the sea."
Arthur chuckled.
"Of course. This space is entirely under my control. This tree grows according to my will."
"So… will this place eventually give birth to a second Lands Between?"
"That's bound to happen, though that day is still far off."
"Then won't you become the Overarching Will of this land?"
At the mention of the Overarching Will, Ranni frowned, clearly recalling something unpleasant.
Arthur reached out, brushing her hair, and gently countered:
"Not me. Us. We'll build this space together."
"What's this then? Are we destined to become the very thing we despise?"
Quoting Arthur's own words from before, Ranni's tone carried a faint tease.
Her remark made Arthur burst out laughing.
"My princess, if this land does one day teem with life, would you, like the Overarching Will of the Lands Between, interfere with their development?"
Ranni shook her head firmly. Arthur's suggestion clashed directly with her Law of the Stars.
"Then there's no need to dwell on it. Just stay true to your path and walk it. As for me, I'll always be by your side."
Arthur took Ranni's hand. Feeling the sincerity in him, Ranni gripped his hand back tightly.
The two said nothing more, simply savoring the quiet.
After a long while, Ranni spoke softly:
"That schooling you spoke of… may I go?"
Arthur: "Huh?"
"I want to personally experience how your world differs from the Lands Between."
"That's not it—what about the Lands Between? Aren't you supposed to be in charge there?"
"In the Lands Between, I've already slain the Two Fingers. Next, I must head into the night sky to seek traces of the Overarching Will. Do you really think my current form is suited for traveling the stars?"
Her words carried grievance.
She had already resolved that, if Arthur placed the ring upon her, she would acknowledge him as her king. Once both had fulfilled their respective duties, they would journey hand in hand into the starry sky.
Yet Arthur had gone and resurrected her body, a gesture that moved her deeply. The only flaw was that her body now was barely eleven or twelve years old, far from her peak.
To face the Overarching Will in such a state? She didn't have the confidence.
Arthur clearly realized this too. He scratched his head with a wry smile and agreed to her request.
He brought her next door and knocked on Snape's door.
It was Liya who answered.
"Is Snape home? I need to speak with him," Arthur said.
Though curious about the strange young girl with him, Liya didn't press.
"He's in the study."
She led them to the so-called study, which had long since been converted into Snape's potion lab.
"What is—"
Snape began, but his words halted the moment he noticed Ranni.
The oppressive weight from her life force hit him like a crushing tide.
As a demigod, Ranni's very existence placed her on a higher rung of life. Newly revived, she hadn't yet learned to restrain her aura, and a faint trace always leaked.
Why Arthur felt nothing was twofold: his own body was too strong, and Ranni had deliberately kept her aura in check for him. After all, in her eyes, her king was still weak.
Arthur: Thanks, I feel slightly insulted!
Shivers ran down Snape's spine as he felt her cold, abyssal presence.
Inwardly, he was screaming: Where on earth did Arthur find someone like this? She's more oppressive than the Dark Lord himself!
"Professor Snape, are you alright?" Arthur asked with concern, noticing his abnormality.
"I'm fine. Though if your… companion could rein in her aura, that would be even better."
Snape's voice trembled slightly.
Arthur understood—he too had felt that aura when Ranni had first awakened, and it hadn't been pleasant. He signaled for Ranni to withdraw it, and Snape finally exhaled in relief.
"And this young lady is…?"
He was dying of curiosity—such a young girl, yet her aura outstripped even Voldemort's.
"Ranni, my fiancée."
Arthur and Ranni had agreed back in the Zen Garden to present her this way to outsiders.
Snape: ???
That single sentence rattled him to the core.
Leaving aside where such a terrifying witch had come from—how did a boy who'd lost both parents suddenly come up with a fiancée? Did he think Snape would just believe that?
Meeting Snape's suspicious gaze, Arthur shrugged.
"Alright, no more pretense. Here's the truth: I, too, come from an old family. My father belonged to an ancient clan of the Far East, but since he had no magical talent, he chose to study abroad as a normal man.
Here he met my mother. They fell in love, and had me. But before he could tell me about our family's legacy, he died in a tragic car accident.
It wasn't until Ranni found me that I learned the truth. Our two families have been allied for generations. To strengthen those ties, the elders of both houses arranged our marriage."
