Because Kakashi left first, the second gathering of Team 9 ended once again.
After seeing Rin home, Obito complained to Kuroya on the way.
"Did you see that? The genius ninja just left without even saying goodbye."
"And you even gave him a boxed lunch!"
"We should unite and kick Kakashi out of Team 9."
Obito waved his fists, venting his frustration while punching the air.
He felt completely overshadowed by Kakashi—so cool, so stylish, and even more handsome than himself! This was unbearable for Obito.
He assumed his good friend Kuroya must feel the same way.
Kuroya , however, was too lazy to respond. But since the two of them had always been the bottom-ranking duo and had gone through hardships together in the Ninja Academy, he felt obliged to react a little.
So, Kuroya thought seriously for a moment.
"I think… you should focus on training now."
"Huh?"
Obito looked as if he had just heard something unbelievable. You, a bottom-ranked student, are telling me to train? Look at your own face!
Before Obito could argue, Kuroya continued,
"I'm going home to train too."
With that, he walked off, hands in his pockets, leaving a dumbfounded Obito standing there.
Unbeknownst to Obito, when Kuroya returned home, the first thing he did was lie down in the yard and nap. He slept straight through until midnight.
In the early hours, as Kuroya expected, the system's voice rang out again:
"Daily random doubling begins!"
"Constitution doubled!"
Kuroya looked down at his status panel.
Name: Kuroya
Age: –
Strength: (+)
Constitution: (*) Genin level
Agility: (+) Genin level
Spirit: –
Chakra: –
Skills: None
Ninjutsu: None
Overall Strength Evaluation: Apprentice Genin
Seeing all his four core stats leave the single digits, Kuroya was ecstatic.
As for the "overall strength evaluation" line, he naturally ignored it.
He thought for a while.
"Doubling constitution also increases my strength and agility… So constitution gives the best value for stat points."
Clenching his fist, Kuroya could feel his body had grown much stronger.
To celebrate, he made himself a lavish late-night meal. After all, he was still growing, so eating more wouldn't hurt.
A brand-new day arrived.
Training Ground
"Hey! Kuroya , you're late again!"
Obito waved his arms loudly, as if afraid no one would hear him.
"Kuroya , what's your excuse for being late again today?"
Kakashi's father figure, Namikaze, spoke seriously. Being late once might be excused, but twice? Do you think this is still Ninja Academy?
Kuroya rubbed his stomach and hung his head, looking exhausted.
"Teacher, I ate too much last night and couldn't sleep."
He lifted his head, revealing two dark circles under his eyes.
Namikaze: "..."
At this moment, Namikaze wanted to ask: Are you a pig? Do you even know if you're full?
Rin, covering her mouth, looked amazed. "You ate that much?"
"You think you're Rin and can eat that much?" Obito couldn't help but laugh, immediately realizing his mistake and shutting up.
"Obito, don't talk nonsense. I skipped breakfast yesterday, and Kuroya 's cooking was really good," Rin explained.
"Childish!" Kakashi glanced at Obito, voice cool and aloof.
"Wait! Kakashi, why are you glaring at me? Shouldn't it be Kuroya ?"
Obito was dumbfounded. He yelled: "Kuroya was late! Why glare at me?"
Kakashi ignored the flustered Obito, remaining proudly indifferent.
"Kakashi! I've tolerated you long enough. I want to duel you!"
"Ahem~"
Kuroya coughed at the perfect moment to give a hint.
"Fine, I'll let you off today!" Receiving the signal, Obito quickly found an excuse to save face.
In the field, Namikaze rubbed his forehead, feeling overwhelmed. He realized the team needed a "mediator," and that person was Kuroya . Without him, Team 9 might collapse quickly.
After the chaos, Namikaze announced today's task:
"Today, your only task is to showcase your taijutsu and ninjutsu skills."
"You can only cooperate effectively after understanding each other."
"This is crucial for your future battles!"
He gestured toward Kakashi, the acknowledged genius, to start first, knowing it would motivate the others.
All eyes on him, Kakashi stepped forward.
Silver hair, cold expression. He raised his right hand.
"Sword Jutsu!"
With that, a short blade appeared in his hand.
In the blink of an eye, he vanished several meters away. The tree trunk fell, easily cut through, its cross-section charred.
When Kakashi returned, Obito's eyes widened. Rin looked full of admiration. Kuroya yawned.
"Is that it? Where's the ninjutsu?" Obito asked, confused.
I thought we were showing both taijutsu and ninjutsu. Why did Kakashi only show the chopping technique?
"That's not just swordsmanship—it's infused with Lightning Release!" Namikaze corrected.
He signaled Obito to demonstrate.
Compared to Kakashi's brief strike, Obito's display was much more dramatic. He first performed a set of Uchiha taijutsu, then formed hand signs and released a small fireball.
Kuroya estimated its diameter at an impressive thirty centimeters.
Next, Rin threw kunai, hitting a tree three meters away with precision.
Finally, it was Kuroya 's turn.
Under the watchful eyes of the others, Kuroya slowly stepped out of line, tilted his head, and thought for a moment.
"Taijutsu… hmm…"
"Ninjutsu… hmm…"
"All done!"
He returned to the line.
The four of them were completely dumbfounded.
