Days went by. Or perhaps so did the people living in oblivion thought so.
It's been raining tremendously over these passed weeks. The habitants hasn't seen the face of the sun since then.
A girl is watching the rain devouring the world. She seems to be a student observing the calamity from her school. Her face is unusually calm. She linger a bit and then turn around heading towards her class just then to get startled by a clown figure.
"Ahhh"
"Wow, so your calmness begs to cramped aftefall".
"... Why y-you..."
"No need to thank me for this very pleasure. " says the figure with humour in its tone.
" Stella... It's not the best time to do this, okay? Besides where did you get that costume from?"
" it's a secret Alice. You will get to know that sooner or later . But I only came to tell you that the class is about to be started. "
Alice spoke with sudden realisation in her voice " Oh! Mr Hawk told us the previous day that he would be out for today. I think it's my best chance to sneak in the computer lab. "
" You are a worm for IT, arent you? Sure you can go ahead but I wouldn't pay the price for it, okay? "
" Yeah yeah. You can go rest in the class and I will be eating on the courses for my betterment. "
Moments later, all the students already gathered in the classroom. It was still raining heavily.
The teacher still haven't arrived in the classroom. Infact, no teacher has arrived in the school since this morning.
Students are discussing among themselves in desperation. They thought they should just leave but the rain is the major wall that is holding them in this place. Even this morning they barely made their way to school.
A girl name Lucy is sitting worriedly over her sit. She looks around the class and noticed 5 students are missing.
'Alice, Sam, Frank, Damian and Levin are missing.
She thought vaguely and decided to ask her friends about it. She look around the Class again to sought it with someone. Stella was sitting in a corner with the gesture of a chill bird.
She tends to knowingly disregard Lucy.
Without seeing much hope in consulting with anyone, Lucy went to check matters on herself.
She silently sneak out of the classroom. From the corner Stella stared at the sight of Lucy's escape.
Lucy begin to ascend from the school hall while making her way to the corridor. The power supply was cut off four days ago. The TV and internet has also been taken down by the rain.
' Quite perculiar ' She thought.
Just as she was passing through the corridors she smells blood. She frowned and her legs begging to retreat. She pumped all her courage to move towards the scent direction and reaches to a store room. The door was already open and the scent was quite strong. She could even make out the figure lying inside the room, drowned in stillness.
She went inside the store room and saw an unidentified man lying on the ground while his blood spilling all over the floor.
The sight wasn't that brutal and menacing as she expected.
Surprising, there were no signs of cut throughout the man's body.
The blood was flowing out of his eyes, ears and nose. It didn't seem like he was being murdered.
Lucy begin to search for the reason behind the man's death who was likely a thief trying to sneak in the school. But concluded nothing.
She headed out of the room and wander more deep into the corridors until she reaches the death end. She found nothing.
She decided to head towards the classroom, just then she saw a familiar figure just sitting leisurely infront of the computer lab.
" Lucy grayvert. Was it?"
" Y-yeah."
" I am beginning to wonder what can we called this situation we are in? A cat and mouse would be too exaggerating and unfitting. Don't you think?"
She shrugged slightly " Levin, I don't have time for this. I was searching for you and your other friends in this tide mess. "
" Well the other friends you are referring to have probably got their first hand ticket to heaven. "
Lucy frowned with a shocking expression " what do you mean by that? "
" well it means what I just said. Sam and Damian are dead. "
Lucy covers her mouth trying to calm herself but still confused at Levin's words
" How? "
" I caught both of them in the front door, expressionless. At first i really couldn't make out if they are really being death or they are frozen alive. The classroom is also probably empty by now."
Lucy hanged up after hearing those words.
" The rain or perhaps the depth devourer shouldn't have got better at it. The whole world is facing the rain. The earth is envelope by its belly. "
" H-How do you get into that conclusion? "
" Because I know that's simple."
Lucy sighs "Yeah I get it. It's you and your conspiracies. Anyway, any chance of how to tackle this situation? Maybe I can trust you just this one time. Just once okay?"
" Alright. All we have to do is get out of this place."
" But where?"
" The place where light doesnt shine. "
" Is this a riddle? "
" Nah its a foreshadowing on how we gonna survive it. "
Lucy grinned " Maybe it's going to be fun. "
Later, both start heading towards the main hall.
" Why are we heading towards the hall? "
" Because it's where we plant our seeds. We got 4 hours and 23 minutes before we make it out. "
" Wow so you have already set the timer. I am genuinely intrigued to inquire more questions from you."
" Maybe not today. But I warned you that we ain't the only here in this school. There are still 5 students roaming around in this place. "
" Then that's a good news. Shouldn't we go and seek help from them? That would make our task much easier. "
" Nah. I don't trust certain infants carrying the nerve to roam around in this dreadful place with no certainty of their safety. Anyway the first part was a joke but i really don't think its gonna be a wise choice confronting them for help. "
" why you think so. "
" Because skinwalkers exist. And they are here with us. Playing a mix game of hide n seek and cat-mouse. "
Just then when Lucy was about to speak, the something behind them just steps away broke.
A silent figure came out of the pavement and started Its marched towards the duo.
