Chapter Ten.
Emily hung her tote bag swirling in her hands which was a bit heavy for her because she took her laptop, notepad home to round up her recent project with Graham's enterprises.
She walked into the hallway, walking into another hallway that adjoins the one she was in before.
She entered into Liam's office and dropped his usual coffee trying not to breathe in his usual familiar jasmine scent or think how sexy he looked in his suit.
She brought herself back to reality as she figured she had drowned herself lost in thinking of her hot boss.
She had a career, damn it, and she couldn't allow this attraction to get the better her.
Wouldn't life be so much easier if Liam wasn't her boss? She would have been able to avoid unwanted attraction. The longer she worked for him, the more difficult it was for her to hide these feelings.
Lately she has been having dreams. Okay, fine. Fantasies. And he starred in every single one of them.
How the hell could she even have these thoughts about him? It was flat-wrong, not to mention unprofessional. She veered around to him approaching her, she wondered how long he had been there.
Liam stood there behind her. She turned and moved around him to head down to her office while hitting his tall, broad shouldered chest.
He stood still. Her eyes widened as she felt lost looking at him. A gentleman dressed in an all black expensive suit. Her boss.
He held her gently.
"Miss, watch carefully where you are going".
She felt her body shiver from his touch.
"Sorry Sir".
He moved towards her when she hurried over to his side.
"Good morning Sir" she voiced out perceiving his manly cologne as it filled the room, a mixture of mint, jasmine and apple.
"Good morning Emily," He replied. His voice was deeper and even sexier than last night. It took all the resilience from her to stop her knees from getting too weak and dropping at his feet.
He looked at the office carefully. A smile crossed across his lips.
"You are doing a great job".
Emily smiled deeply pleased. Her efforts were starting to pay. He was beginning to see how useful she was.
If only he would avert his attention and care to see her more than just his assistant.
She sighed deeply. It only happens in movies. She couldn't only pray for a miracle for him to notice her.
He fixed his gaze at her as he found his way to his chair. He sat down comfortably.
"You should sit as well Emily".
She nodded as she sat down respectfully.
"We are meeting with the clients today to discuss our requirements for the collaboration of our recent project, I do hope you are prepared".
This was her first responsibility in the office which she would be handling as the main worker. She braced herself. This was a chance to show him how valuable she was to the company.
Emily glared at him as he informed her of the latest development.
A contract between Glams and Graham's
He continued speaking as he handed her a file.
"You will have to go through it and tell me your opinion about it".
"There will be an appointment with the C.E.O of Graham's in attendance".
"I need to see the stuff you are made of".
"Yes, Sir I will work intensely on this project". She responded.
"The board of directors will be ready to see your pitch on this project, the company wants you to deliver nothing but your best in this project".
"I totally understand Sir, and would do my best to outrun our competitors".
.........
...…
Liam's POV.
A flash of a white lacy bra haunted him, making him want to undo those few buttons to see if the lace….
Damn it. Get a grip.
She stepped forward, and Liam had to force himself to focus on her face. Which wasn't hardship. He looked at her high cheekbones, long, dark hair and deep brown eyes.
He had seen more than one man do a double take her way… and each time, Liam had wanted to throat punch the stranger.
Guilt banded around his chest like a vise. He shouldn't be lusting after another woman. Getting drawn to Emily was just a by-product of working together for so long.
He admired her because she was strong, with an undertone of vulnerability.
And in her striking looks and perfectly shaped curves it was only natural he would be attracted to someone like her.
But he has to keep his emotions beneath the surface where he could control them.
"I totally understand Sir, and would do my best to outrun our competitors" .She told him with a soft smile, pulling him back to the moment.
"You can leave". He said as his eyes fell right behind her. With no options but to follow her swaging hips. He was human, and a guy. Where else could he look but those hips?
She always had on those damn body-hugging skirts…he believed she referred to them as pencil skirts. Those curves would be the death of him.
"Okay Sir". She responded by leaving him and moving down to her office to begin her job for the day.
Emily wasn't just his assistant, she was a woman who fueled his every fantasy.
