Windsor's POV
The applause that followed my speech felt hollow in my ears. Students were still whispering, their voices a mix of admiration and skepticism. Miss Jameson nodded approvingly, but I barely registered her words about "refreshing perspectives."
All I could focus on was Gideon. He was still staring at me with that unreadable expression. His gray eyes held something that made my skin crawl.
"Thank you all for participating," Miss Jameson announced. "Results will be posted soon."
The room began to empty. Students filed out in clusters, their conversations animated. I gathered my things quickly, wanting to escape before—
"Well, well."
I turned to find Evelyn blocking my path. Her chocolate brown eyes blazed with fury.
"Quite the performance," she said, her voice dripping with false sweetness. "Standing up to the big bad Alpha like that. How brave."
I tried to step around her. She moved to block me again.
"Excuse me," I said evenly.
