Windsor's POV
Both Philip and I turned toward the entrance as Gideon appeared in the doorway, his shoulder pressed casually against the frame with his arms folded across his chest.
Philip stepped back from me immediately, his eyes darting between me and the newcomer. Recognition dawned across his face, followed by what looked like resignation. He offered a respectful nod.
"My apologies, Alpha," Philip said quietly. "I wasn't aware she was already spoken for."
My jaw tightened. "No one speaks for me," I said firmly, but Philip seemed unconvinced by my protest.
"I should head back," Philip announced, leaving the two of us alone in the corridor. I exhaled sharply and shook my head, ready to walk away when Gideon suddenly grabbed my arm. He moved closer, lowering his head until our eyes were level.
This time, I refused to retreat. I met his stare with equal intensity, my expression defiant.
"I knew," he said softly. "It was you all along."
