Windsor's POV
I stood frozen as every pair of eyes in the gymnasium tracked between Zion and me. The silence stretched uncomfortably long.
Zion moved first, walking toward me with that predatory grace that made lesser Alphas step aside. His expression gave nothing away, but I caught the slight tightening around his eyes. He wasn't thrilled about this either.
"Well," he said when he reached me, his voice low enough that only I could hear. "This should be interesting."
Before I could respond, Mr. Colton's voice boomed again. "We're merging with the upperclassman class for today's game. More competition, higher stakes. Winners get a point bonus each."
My stomach clenched. Extra points was significant money at Apex. But upperclassmen meant...
The gymnasium doors opened, and a flood of older students poured in. My eyes automatically scanned the crowd, hoping against hope that he wouldn't be among them.
Then I saw him.
Miguel.
