Evelyn had finally retreated after our confrontation, her face burning with shame as she slipped away from the crowd. The satisfaction coursing through my veins felt intoxicating. After all this time, she was finally tasting the bitter medicine she had been serving others.
Pauline leaned closer to me, her voice barely audible above the noise. "That was incredible," she murmured.
"Thank you," I replied quietly, then turned my focus back to the competition unfolding before us.
The second round ended with the Eastern faction claiming victory, while the Southern team secured their win moments later. The Northern representative managed only a narrow triumph, stumbling during his final maneuver and winning by the thinnest margin possible.
Everything now hinged on the final confrontation.
