Amusement danced in Leonard's eyes as he rested his elbow against the edge of the ship, his attention fixed on Dydra's face. The sunlight caught her thick red lashes, making them appear even brighter, while the side of her nose reminded him of a fox's. Her plump lips looked soft and inviting, like ripe fruit.
A gust of wind blew her hair across her face. Leonard lifted his hand and gently brushed the strands away, tucking them behind her ear.
Dydra blinked several times, pressing her lips together as she continued staring out at the ocean, suddenly too conscious of his presence beside her.
"Should we really elope?" Leonard hummed, his fingers gently tracing her cheek.
The idea wasn't entirely unpleasant to him. In fact, a part of him would love nothing more than to leave everything behind with her. They could travel to an entirely different kingdom where no one knew their names or cared about their status.
There, he wouldn't have to hide his feelings for her.
