Chapter 48 - 48

Night fell, and moonlight bathed the entire restaurant street, silver light illuminating every corner.

However, on this quiet night, only Chen Ye stood alone in the middle of the street, his figure appearing particularly desolate under the moonlight.

It was as if he didn't belong in this World.

Everyone was proceeding according to plan.

Chen Ye looked up at the sky, where faint starlight twinkled in the deep, dark curtain.

A determined light also flickered in his eyes, as if declaring his resolve to the endless night sky.

He knew that after tonight, the fate of the entire Hell's Kitchen would change.

Time seemed to freeze at this moment, and faint footsteps from a distance broke the silence.

A team of figures dressed in black slowly approached, their steps steady and powerful, as if each step was a challenge to Chen Ye.

Their faces bore grim expressions, and their eyes revealed a fierce gleam, as if they were demons from Hell.

Those people, holding various weapons, closed in on Chen Ye step by step, as if to put him to death.

They were clearly elite assassins sent by the Black Alliance, and each of their eyes was filled with killing intent.

However, facing these seemingly menacing figures in black, Chen Ye didn't take them to heart.

His eyes revealed a calm and composed demeanor, as if everything was within his expectations.

"I can't let you disturb the residents of Hell's Kitchen from resting. It's been chaotic enough lately."

Chen Ye said coldly, his voice echoing in the night sky, carrying an irresistible power.

He instantly activated his super speed, his body transforming into a flash of lightning, instantly passing through the assassins' encirclement.

His figure danced in the air, each strike carrying the force of thunder.

Before the assassins could react, they were already knocked to the ground by him.

Chen Ye's neighborhood was in the easternmost part of Hell's Kitchen, far from other war-torn areas, making it a relatively quiet sanctuary.

He originally thought he could temporarily escape the World's conflicts in this corner, but some things just don't go as planned.

Just as he was enjoying this rare tranquility, a heart-pounding roar of machinery came from the sky.

Chen Ye looked up and saw an armored figure cutting through the sky, slowly descending not far from him.

It was a humanoid armor, radiating a cold metallic luster.

"Why are you here, Tony?" Chen Ye asked curiously, recognizing the armor. Clearly, it was Tony Stark's masterpiece.

Inside the armor, Tony Stark appeared with a faint hint of disappointment and wariness, choosing to remain silent in response to Chen Ye's question.

He had expected Chen Ye to react with shock and admiration upon seeing his armor.

But the Chen Ye in front of him merely asked curiously about his appearance.

Chen Ye's gaze, penetrating through the armor's steel mask, seemed to see through his inner thoughts.

He knew that Chen Ye knew that it was Tony Stark himself hidden within the armor. This feeling of being seen through made him a little uneasy.

Whether it was saving him from danger before, or now exposing the true mastermind, Chen Ye had shown himself to be too smart, too calm.

This caused a ripple in Tony's heart, and he began to have a new understanding of Chen Ye's inscrutability.

He felt that in front of Chen Ye, he seemed to become transparent, with no secrets to hide.

This realization made Tony's attitude towards Chen Ye subtle.

They were friends now, but Tony knew in his heart that if they became enemies in the future, Chen Ye would undoubtedly be the most troublesome existence.

This Eastern man was like a double-edged sword, capable of helping Tony solve difficulties, but also potentially delivering a fatal blow at a critical moment.

This complex emotion made Tony more vigilant when facing Chen Ye.

He began to consider whether he should learn more about Chen Ye's past to better predict his future actions.

Of course, now was not the time to think about this.

"Dude, how did you know?" Tony said, while removing his mechanical helmet, "Don't you think it's cool? This is my invention, my creation. Shouldn't you be shocked and admire my genius design?"

Chen Ye looked at Tony and couldn't help but laugh: "Tony, your narcissism is truly unparalleled. However, your armor is indeed cool, I have to admit that."

Tony heard this and a satisfied smile appeared on his face: "Of course, I'm Tony Stark! All my inventions and creations are first-class."

"It wasn't Ethan who contacted me and said you were in trouble and needed my help. So I came, but it looks like you've already solved it."

"You still haven't told me how you knew the person inside the mech was me." Tony still asked curiously.

Chen Ye pointed to the glowing device on Tony's chest: "Who else's chest would glow? And who else would have the ability to build this mech, and it's a flashy red?"

Tony looked down at his chest, then said narcissistically: "Come on, this color scheme is so good-looking and cool." Tony never thought he could be wrong.

Chen Ye looked at Tony's smug expression and couldn't help but laugh out loud, "Yes, yes, you have the same color scheme as Deadpool, do you want to form a group and debut? He's called Deadpool, and you're called Iron Man."

"No, no, Iron Man doesn't sound cool at all, it doesn't suit me at all." Tony shook his head with a look of disdain.

"...Iron Man, right! Call me Iron Man!"

"From now on, please call me Iron Man." Tony suddenly said proudly.

Chen Ye looked at Tony's proud expression and couldn't help but recall the confident and humorous hero he had seen in the movie.

He suddenly realized that although the real-life Tony Stark shared many similarities with Iron Man in the movie, there were also many differences.

They were both so confident, so proud, but Tony's confidence and pride had a few more touches of reality and approachability.

"Tony, do you think you are Iron Man?" Chen Ye suddenly asked.

Tony was stunned for a moment, then laughed: "No, I am not Iron Man. I am Tony Stark, Iron Man is just one of my inventions. But I know there is only one Iron Man in this World, and that is me."

Just as Chen Ye and Tony were chatting, they were interrupted by a slowly approaching figure.

An old man wearing an ancient helmet appeared, his steps steady and composed, followed by a man and a woman.

This person was Magneto of the Brotherhood of Mutants, and the two behind him were Magneto's subordinates, Pyro and Night Woman.

Pyro's ability was to control flames within a certain range, but his ability could only control flames, not create them. So he always carried a lighter.

Night Woman was a Mutant with the ability to move quickly over short distances and perceive Mutant genes.

Magneto then spoke to Chen Ye: "It seems I've interrupted your gathering. I heard you're also a Mutant. Are you interested in joining our Brotherhood of Mutants?"

His voice was full of charm and confidence.

Chen Ye frowned upon seeing the newcomers, and asked uncertainly: "Are you Magneto?"

S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents Natasha and Hawkeye had been closely monitoring Chen Ye's movements.

At this moment, they also noticed the arrival of Magneto and his group.

"I never thought Magneto would personally come to find Chen Ye. If Chen Ye also joins the Brotherhood of Mutants, then the Brotherhood of Mutants will be greatly strengthened. I need to report this to Director Fury immediately," Hawkeye said with a frown.

"I guess with Chen Ye's personality, he probably won't join Magneto's group. However, based on the intelligence we currently have, Chen Ye may not be able to defeat Magneto," Natasha analyzed calmly.

"This is also good, maybe they'll both suffer losses." Natasha's lips curled into a cold smile.

"What a joke, it's not that I look down on Chen Ye, but I don't think Chen Ye has the strength to suffer mutual losses with Magneto."

Because Hawkeye knew from S.H.I.E.L.D.'s intelligence that Magneto was a powerful Mutant with the ability to control magnetic fields, almost invincible. Basically, those who opposed Magneto either became dead or became his subordinates.
