Chapter 13 - 13

Under the puzzled gazes of John Wick and Old Ma, Chen Ye walked towards the window.

"Chen Ye, this is the fifth floor. You're not thinking of jumping straight down, are you?" Old Ma asked in shock.

"The elevator is too slow. Jumping from the window is faster. I can't bear to let them damage my house, not even a little," Chen Ye said, then leaped, jumping directly from the fifth-floor window.

As Chen Ye was about to reach the ground, he covered his feet with Chaos Magic, and his feet glowed faintly red, serving as a decelerator, then he landed gently.

Originally, Chen Ye could have jumped directly, as he had a self-healing factor, so even jumping from the 20th floor wouldn't harm him. However, he considered that jumping directly would create a huge sound, which would disturb other residents, and that was not what he wanted.

"Goddamn it, there's a Superman here," a sniper muttered, watching the scene unfold through his 8x scope.

John Wick and Old Ma quickly looked down from the window, only to see Chen Ye land safely, completely unharmed, without even a sound.

The two exchanged glances, their eyes filled with disbelief. Even though they were experienced assassins, they had never witnessed such a scene before.

If Chen Ye, who was below, knew, he would only say they were a bunch of inexperienced people. Chen Ye rarely used his superpowers before because he feared trouble, but ever since he met Tony Stark, Chen Ye knew that the Super Hero era was coming.

In the future, those who could play in the high-end games would be Thor and Hulk, either mutants or relying on technology. Ordinary people could only secretly snatch kills like Hawkeye from behind. Haven't you seen how Black Widow was almost reduced to a background character in the later Marvel movies, only able to talk and sacrifice her life?

Chen Ye, who had just landed coolly, hadn't even had time to search for assassins when five more gunmen appeared and immediately pulled their triggers, aiming at Chen Ye.

A large number of bullets poured out, forming a rain of bullets.

Chen Ye instinctively wanted to dodge, but his eyes darted, and he found the restaurant entrance behind him.

"Damn it," Chen Ye cursed instinctively, then with a wave of his right hand, five fingers shot out red light towards the bullet rain.

The bullets hit by the red light instantly lost their momentum and dropped directly to the ground.

Seeing this scene, the assassins were just stunned for a moment, then continued to shoot. One of them, seeing the bullets were ineffective, pulled out an RPG from somewhere.

With a "boom," an RPG came flying.

Seeing this, Chen Ye waved his right hand, and countless red lines shot towards the bullets. With a wave of his left hand upwards, the RPG missile was enveloped in red light and flew towards the sky.

Just as Chen Ye was using Chaos Magic with both hands, with a "bang," a Barrett bullet shot from a distance and flew rapidly towards Chen Ye.

In a flash of lightning, the Barrett bullet was about to hit Chen Ye's head.

"Truly professional assassins, this coordination," Chen Ye said calmly, unfazed by the possibility of being headshotted.

The next second, Chen Ye's eyes glowed red, and the bullet quickly flew back in the opposite direction.

As the RPG exploded in the sky, the five gunmen and the sniper were killed by their own bullets, instantly falling to the ground.

"Daddy, look, there are fireworks in the sky," a father and daughter from Hell's Kitchen stood by the window, pointing at the sky and saying.

With all five gunmen dead, the street instantly quieted down. However, the residents living on the street were clearly attracted by the previous gunfight and came out to watch.

If residents from other places saw such a gunfight, they might be scared, but this was Hell's Kitchen; they grew up in this kind of environment every day.

Or rather, no one who comes to live in Hell's Kitchen is an easy target. Just like now, they watched with interest, not at all afraid of the risk of being accidentally injured by assassins.

Suit-clad assassins from all directions came as reinforcements. Just as they were about to launch an attack on Chen Ye, a group of assassins accidentally swept their guns across a BMW.

A tattooed man standing at the window watching the commotion roared in anger, "That's my car I just stole, you damn birds in suits!"

The assassin, hearing this, immediately fired a warning shot at the big man, signaling him to shut up.

The bullet did not hit the tattooed man, but it clearly enraged him.

The tattooed man then shouted, "Damn bitches, you are provoking us, Hell's Kitchen."

Then the suit-clad assassin was horrified to see that the tattooed strong man had an RPG on his shoulder, aimed at him, completely disregarding the damage firing an RPG in his own room would cause to his home.

The suit-clad assassin quickly fled. After all, his suit could stop bullets, but an RPG would finish him off.

These assassins ignored Chen Ye and quickly fled the RPG explosion site. Even these well-trained assassins looked at the explosion site and felt a little terrified. What kind of hellish place was this, so terrifying.

Is it logical for a car thief to have an RPG at home? With that, who would still steal cars? Do people in Hell's Kitchen need RPGs to steal cars?

Chen Ye saw this scene and laughed, looking left and right.

"Alright, I don't need to act now. You guys should have just provoked me; why provoke the residents of Hell's Kitchen? They are not as reasonable as I am."

As if the recent RPG was a signal for war, many residents of Hell's Kitchen took out various calibers of long and short firearms from their homes. They began sweeping from high to low from their windows as if money were no object, and many assassins, even with bulletproof suits, had unprotected heads.

Even more, people started driving cars from all directions and began shooting. The reinforcements sent by the Marquis were wiped out by the people of Hell's Kitchen even before they reached Chen Ye's block.

John Wick, upstairs, was stunned watching the assassins below being beaten back by the people of Hell's Kitchen.

"Are the customs of your Hell's Kitchen so simple and wild?" John Wick turned to Old Ma, who was calm, and asked.

"What do you mean, 'your Hell's Kitchen'? That's 'our Hell's Kitchen.' Our Hell's Kitchen has always been like this. Since you've come to Hell's Kitchen, you're naturally a part of Hell's Kitchen. What, you want to run after we've helped you?" Old Ma clearly understood Chen Ye's thoughts and knew Chen Ye wanted to keep his friend there. Old Ma also thought it was good; he would have a companion in the future. Having lived here for several years, he had developed a certain affection for Hell's Kitchen, and he also knew what Chen Ye wanted to do. He also looked forward to the changes Chen Ye would bring to Hell's Kitchen.

John Wick said nothing after hearing this, only smiled as he watched everything happening downstairs. It was as if he found himself quite suited to Hell's Kitchen.
