Chapter 5 - Gym

[ It didn't take you a lot of time convincing your parents about wanting to go to Vale, like in the previous simulation your excuse remained the same, however, you realized that your sister Lavender was very reluctant to let you go and insisted on your parents that you should stay as it would be too dangerous for you to go to the capital. ]

"Damn, she's really persistent. I really don't want to deal with her right now; the farther away I am from her, the better." Jaune let out a sigh.

[ Despite her protest, there was nothing she could do to stop you from leaving as you already made up your mind and your parents didn't also feel like humoring your elder sister, they even thought of her as unreasonable, now that you finally are a step away from being an adult, having real experience from the world could really help you or at least that was your parents thought. ]

He couldn't help but feel a bit guilty. However, it wouldn't stop him from becoming a huntsman!

[ You left the very day you were given permission, and went directly to vale with determination. ]

Jaune hoped that his life wouldn't be short in this simulation; after all, from what he could remember, the longest he lived was just a mere few months.

[ As you arrived at Vale, unlike the previous simulation, you didn't go to the club to whore and decided to find a decent apartment to rent. ]

[ You quickly found a decent place, however there was a problem. The price was ridiculously inflated; if this was back in your hometown, it would be way cheaper. But you don't really have a choice, with the money you saved it was only enough for you to rent the place for about a month and that includes meals. ]

Jaune couldn't help but scratch the back of his head. "Are the prices in the city really that high? I think I need to save more if that were the case."

[ In the end, the excuse that you give your parents of wanting to find experience and a job became real, which you weren't sure what to think; either way, it is what it is. ]

[ But before that, you went to find a gym as it was your original goal of initially going to Vale early. ]

Jaune was eager to find out how he would fare against others; since it's a rare talent, it shouldn't be too bad, right?

Little did he know that he underestimated this talent.

[ Then you found yourself in front of a reputable combat gym that has produced dozens of champions for years; there's even a rumor that the owner of this gym was a former world champion of MMA. ]

[ You went to register your entry, and the staff was responsible for registering. You asked if you wanted to join the gym and learn mixed martial arts, saying that there's a discount if you subscribe for more than a half-year. ]

[ You were initially confused, but then you shook your head, saying that you didn't want to join;, wondered if it was possible to fight a fighter in this gym. ]

[ The woman at the counter was very surprised by your request as it was the first time this happened, then had no choice but to call the manager for a matter like this one. ]

[ It wasn't for the manager to arrive and then ask you why you want to fight someone from their gym, then you simply replied that you wanted to test your skills in combat. ]

[ Then the manager stared at you with a judging look, then shook his head saying that you don't have the build for it and you should just give up as you'll only be humiliated in the fight. ]

[ Realizing that your favorite hoodie was hindering your build, you immediately took it off, revealing perfectly balanced muscles, and this immediately got the attention of the majority of the athletes in the gym. ]

[ Even the girl from the counter couldn't help but blush at your muscles, and that was saying something as she often saw different kinds of beasts daily as she was working here, but she had never seen something so 'perfect' everything packed with dense muscle that doesn't look exaggerated and completely natural. ]

Seeing another girl's reaction, he couldn't help but wonder how perfect his muscles from this simulation were. He could only visualize it as he couldn't really see it in the text.

[ The manager was stunned at your revaluation, then immediately started to inspect your muscles, and the more he looked at it, the more he was astonished; he realized that you are completely natty without any steroids; there's just a difference between natural and enhanced. ]

[ After seeing your physique, he finally decided to give you a green light; he thought that even if you can't win, you should be able to handle some beating considering how hard those muscles are, and after losing, you might consider joining the gym as you definitely had the potential for it. ]

[ Then the manager told you to pick your opponent, without thinking much you chose the who you pointed to first and everyone went silent, confused as to why they reacted like that, then quietly the woman employee whispered at you that the opponent you chose has a criminal record of murder, not to mention infamous of being cruel in the ring. It wouldn't be surprising if his opponent broke a bone or two. ]

Jaune was a bit worried; after all, he didn't want to get crippled so early in the game; he wasn't even a student of huntsmen academy yet!

[ You thanked the woman for the info and smiled, then she became flustered at your smile and sneakily asked for your scroll number, which you immediately gave,, seeing that there was nothing wrong with it. ]

[ The woman in question jumped for joy, but you didn't pay more attention to her as you were a bit anxious about who your opponent was, seeing the look of hesitation on your face, the manager told you that you could pick another fighter, but you refused to know that backing out would definitely make you a coward in their eyes, not to mention if you cower from this kind of opponent you might as well give up as a huntsman. ]

[ Finally, the two fighters were now on the right; your opponent revealed a bloodthirsty smile, saying that you shouldn't have carelessly picked him from all the people, and then he continued yapping, telling you that he'd break your legs or something. ]

He frowned at this; if this man truly had a criminal record, how was he even in this gym? It would do good for the gym's reputation if they took someone like him in.

[ You frown at his words but choose to ignore him as you are anxious as this was your very first combat. ]

[ Then it didn't long for him to start attacking as soon as the bell rang; you were surprised at this, not because of your opponent's sudden offense but because of how slow he was in your perspective; without hesitation, you hit his chin with a lightning speed right hook. ]

[ It was so clean that your opponent immediately lost consciousness after hitting him on the chin; he was down a complete knockout. ]

He was very surprised by this outcome; he couldn't help but realize that with his talent, he may be far superior to ordinary humans.

[ At first, everyone thought that it was a fluke, to which someone challenged you to confirm the theory, but once again, you defeated him with a high kick. ]

[ Then your winning streak went forth, 3, 4, 7, 10, and eventually, you defeated all of the athletes available in the gym with relative ease; not only you showed exceptional strength, but also combat skills superior to anyone in this establishment. ]

[ You defeated your opponent with different kinds of combat styles after your 3rd win, boxing, wrestling, judo, jujitsu, karate, and muay thai; you were proficient with each and every single one of them, not to mention you were also very adaptable with it. ]

"Damn, I underestimated this talent." He can't believe how overpowered this is; it's like he's some sort of movie protagonist who was a genius in combat.

No wonder the talent was called [ King Of Freestyle Combat ]; those who are below human level threat were simply not a challenge.

[ The manager begged you to join the gym after seeing your domination. It was clear that you had a monstrous talent, and he was confident that you were going down as a legend in the MMA with that kind of skills, but you immediately refused without hesitation, saying that you wanted to be huntsmen instead. ]

[ He frowned at that, saying that you were going to waste your talent in that occupation; you shook your head as he would never understand your feelings for this matter; that's why you left, as you don't want to be hounded. ]

Welp, now he's done testing his skills, now it's time for him to get a job to survive months before Beacon's initiation
