Chapter 267 - Chapter 267: The Sword of the Vale

Chapter 267: The Sword of the Vale

Eindoak Town, the ancestral home of the "People of the Vale," was once the power center of their kingdom, but has since declined, with only the castle "The Sword of the Vale" remaining.

Ryan and Lillie once again set foot on the land of the Unova region, arriving at Eindoak Town, a city centered around the tower known as the "Sword of the Vale."

Eindoak Town sits atop a mountain range, and atop the highest peak stands a colossal building shaped like the handle of a sword, its blade deeply embedded in the mountainside.

Ryan glanced at the castle known as the "Sword of the Vale" and said to Lillie, "How about we go check that out first?"

Lillie hugged Ryan's right arm and said, "I don't mind. We're just here to relax anyway. Wandering around is nice."

Ryan affectionately patted Lillie's head, deciding to put aside the matter of Victini for now and spend some time enjoying themselves.

Things are often like this: the more you want to accomplish something, the more likely you are to mess it up. But when you stop thinking about it, things often turn out well.

As Ryan and Lillie strolled through the ancient town, a small Pokémon appeared in a dark corner, looking at them curiously.

If Ryan spotted it, he would be very happy, as this Pokémon was none other than Victini, the very creature they were searching for.

Victini is a small Pokémon that resembles a cream-colored rodent. Its enormous, pointed ears formed the shape of the letter V. Victini had large blue eyes that occupied a significant portion of its head. Its disproportionately large head made its body appear smaller than normal. Its body was a cream color, with orange tips on its ears, head, and limbs. The ends of its limbs were rounded, but extended slightly with three-fingered appendages. Its two wing-like tails granted it the ability to fly.

Victini was very interested in the confident aura emanating from Ryan, but its timid nature prevented it from flying over to investigate. Having lived on this land for nearly a thousand years, it knew human behavior all too well. Therefore, it didn't intend to act rashly, but rather to follow slowly, observe first, and then decide whether to reveal itself.

Thinking this, Victini once again became invisible, disappearing into thin air.

Ryan and Lillie, unaware of Victini's attention, excitedly began to explore the town. Previously, they had always focused on challenging Gyms, leaving little time to properly observe each place. This time, setting aside their responsibilities, they truly enjoyed the pleasures of travel.

Ryan bought some snacks from a street vendor, eating as he explored the town. Behind them, Victini swallowed hard, its mouth watering. Because of its timid nature, it hadn't appeared before humans for a long time, subsisting on Berries found in the mountains.

Faced with the temptation of snacks, Victini felt it was losing its will to resist. However, with its immense self-control, it decided to observe further.

Meanwhile, Ryan and Lillie had arrived at the building known as the "Sword of the Vale." Looking at this magnificent structure, Ryan couldn't help but marvel at the wisdom of the ancient people.

Inside, the building appeared somewhat rustic, yet its ancient grandeur was still evident. After observing for a while, Ryan said, "Let's go down and take a look. N said the stones were found there; let's see if we've missed anything."

"Mmm," Lillie nodded. She then took out some macarons from the bag and started eating, but two fell out without her noticing. When Lillie looked at the ground again, she couldn't see the fallen macarons.

Strange? Lillie felt a little puzzled, but didn't think too much about it and quickly followed Ryan, the two heading underground.

Victini reappeared, looking at the two macarons in its hands, its eyes filled with joy: Finally!

Eating the macarons in small, happy bites, Victini couldn't help but sigh: This is the life!

Ryan and Lillie continued downwards. As if sensing something, White Kyurem's Master Ball twitched at Ryan's waist. Ryan pressed down on the Master Ball and said, "Are you sensing home?"

The Master Ball didn't move again, and Ryan and Lillie arrived at a storage room. Lillie frowned, looking at the room with no way forward. "Is there no exit?"

Ryan shook his head, walked over, and began tapping on the surrounding walls. He soon found a hidden door. But just as Ryan was about to open the door, images flashed through his mind. He smiled and said, "Come out, Victini. I know you're here. Can you come out and see us? We mean no harm."

A slightly panicked cry rang out, and a small Pokémon appeared in the air. It was somewhat flustered, but seeing that Ryan and Lillie were only looking at it curiously and didn't make any threatening moves, it relaxed.

Ryan took the snack bag from Lillie and handed it to Victini, saying, "Eat up. You should really like these."

Victini looked into Ryan's eyes, hesitated for a moment, then immediately snatched the bag and took out macarons from it, eating them enthusiastically.

Lillie laughed, "What an adorable Pokémon! But Ryan, how did you know Victini was here?"

Ryan smiled, reached out and gently held Victini. Victini was startled, but then didn't resist, letting Ryan hold it. Ryan said, "Because Victini gave itself away. Just now, when I was about to push open the hidden door, Victini probably showed me the correct route through telepathy because it was afraid we'd get lost inside. That's why I figured Victini was nearby."

Lillie smiled and patted Victini's head, saying, "What a kind Pokémon."

Ryan looked at Victini, who was happily munching away in his arms, and thought: Add to that its love of food; a bag of snacks was enough to win it over. Even when held in Ryan's arms with Lillie patting its head, for food, it completely disregards the dignity of a legendary Pokémon!
